@@Travelthemeparks well yes it’s important, but we are literally obsessing over it like its our savior to the point where the art of storytelling takes the backseat for the sake of diversity. Not to mention, we are obsessing over it to the point where Disney is being lazy, refusing to create new characters and instead, swapping old ones while remaking everything. I guess minorities don’t deserve their own franchises in Disneys eyes. Therefore, current movies will suffer because they have no ideas and the focus isn’t on storytelling first, but agenda. Focusing so much on skin color just makes us think more about skin color in our daily lives, which is what I thought we wanted to get away from today. Used to be, we could relate to characters no matter what they looked like, so…🤷‍♀️. Why Disney doesn’t actually bother to dive into African folklore ever in movies, it’s obvious they are lazy and its disappointing. Besides, when will it be enough for everyone to be satisfied and represented completely? Why do we feel the desperate need to be affirmed by media by our appearance these days? We could be much more than that if we chose to be more secure within ourselves without needing hand outs from brands like Disney.
