Cliff used two different Aria sb models actually. In 85 where he got endorsed by Aria the first bass they sent to Cliff was an Aria Pro II SB-1000 in a gloss black finish which are pretty rare to find. That bass has an active pickup (needs two 9V batteries) and includes a third knob to change mid frequencies I think. Then later in 85 (like around fall) he was given the Aria Pro II SB Black n Gold which just has a passives pickup and the same specs shown in this video. The SB-1000 has the dot inlays while the SB Black n Gold has the cat eye inlays. Also to mention that the SB black n gold model is just based of the Aria Pro II SB-R60 with same specs and everything but in a black finish and gold hardware

well seeing cliffs signature bass being played with a pick ...huum...don't seem right. u should of played some of cliffs riffs...harmonics, Jaco wore that out Jason Newsted used cliffs aria after he died, there's pics of him playing it inside the garage inc. booklet....that bass should of been with cliffs family. he owned a Rickenbacker 4001 and just 2 aria basses....in one live show on KZread his bass either the low E snapped or it went badly out of tune and he was given another bass, I believe it's from long Island in 86. u can hear he's suddenly out of tune, I think it was during the intro to creeping death whats the price??

Jesús CobiánArreola oh and these basses are kinda hard to come by seeing as they are only produced in Japan and Korea , hell the ones I've seen were just regular 6 string guitars , and standard looking basses from the same company. plus the late bass player for Metallica Cliff Burton (r.i.p) made these basses sought after items back in the day making these basses an exclusive and rare instrument to find here in the u.s .

Will you guys ever make these again? I wish these were cheaper

Also to mention that the SB black n gold model is just based of the Aria Pro II SB-R60 with same specs and everything but in a black finish and gold hardware

well seeing cliffs signature bass being played with a pick ...huum...don't seem right. u should of played some of cliffs riffs...harmonics, Jaco wore that out Jason Newsted used cliffs aria after he died, there's pics of him playing it inside the garage inc. booklet....that bass should of been with cliffs family. he owned a Rickenbacker 4001 and just 2 aria basses....in one live show on KZread his bass either the low E snapped or it went badly out of tune and he was given another bass, I believe it's from long Island in 86. u can hear he's suddenly out of tune, I think it was during the intro to creeping death whats the price??
sounds so good
I have an original I bought missing the pickup and electronics - which I can’t find used anywhere , so it just sits waiting for a revival someday

Pickup placement is a huge factor in bass tone. I've had one and I could never get it sound like a single pickup Aria. If you’re chasing that single pickup Aria tone, just buy a single pickup Aria
Just a question, I’m considering buying this- How thick is the neck? Is it comfortable to play?
@Lithuania8634

The necks are thinner than most basses. This bass was made with that idea.
"The range of tones from it is quite impressive" Shows exactly two types of tones.

@Saren-Linetech

@Vanja Kapetanovic in fact, SB-1000 (which basically this bass is - just with cat-eye inlays and black hardware) is heard on thousands of recordings and hits across all genres, from jazz, pop to heavy metal - for example, SB1000 was first bass seen/heard aired on MTV, and one of the cult 80`s basses.
Why did someone let you play that bass with a pick?
Bastards see how much Views Cliff Burton is getting and is gonna create a bass to make money off his name.
what i dont understand is how is this a Cliff Burton "signature" bass?? seeing how hes been dead for a hundred years now..btw Burton didnt make the aria popular it was widely available in the '80s and could be had used for $100 all day long... yeah im that old
