Argentine Pass Off-Road Trail Guide with Stock Ford Raptor

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Argentine Pass Trail is a moderate trail near Georgetown, CO featuring a Stock 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor, a 1996 Jeep Cherokee XJ, and a stock 2012 Jeep Wrangler JK Rubicon. When should you do the trail? Where are the water crossings? Where is snow likely? What mining structures are found along the way? We will reach an altitude of over 13,000ft as we show you around the trail network, visit Santiago Mine, check out a waterfall, observe Colorado Scenery, and finally review the trail. We use Funtreks and TrailsOffroad as reference materials and use stock off-roading vehicles to determine trail difficulty.

Channel Info:
My name is Dewie Jones and I’m the reluctant host, videographer, and video editor for the channel. I’ve daily driven a wrangler my entire driving life starting with a 1997 TJ and now I’m in a nine year old 2012 JK. I like the challenge of driving a stock wrangler on tough trails. My buds are not new to wheeling either, but for their own specific reasons, now wheel aggressive SUV based off-roaders like KL Cherokees, 4Runners, Land Cruisers, VW Touregs, and Renegades. We decided Colorado Mallcrawlers was a funny name so that's how we got here.
For trail planning, I use the Funtreks Books (amazon search: Funtreks books). I have the current editions of the Colorado books and Moab. I finish up my trail planning with trails offroad as they can sometimes have more detail as well as user submitted current conditions feedback. I’m testing GPS apps and currently don’t use one. Here’s my video that tells you how I do it. • Find off-road trails t...

As always, thanks for watching!! Your feedback helps me, so let me know if you can help me improve these. Share them with your nervous wheeling buddies (the Facebook groups never let me... self promotion apparently) so they can know that they can do the trail. Subscribe for more trails and off-road content.

Great little guide! Just did Argentine pass for the first time yesterday in my 4R and it was a blast, we bagged Argentine and Edwards while we were at it. Took 248.1K on the way down and tight is an understatement, you WILL get pinstripes in a full sized vehicle. There is also a risk of losing your mirrors if you're not paying attention.

I think it was 2017 or 2018 when I lost my 2015 Tacoma at the section you mentioned. It wasn't due to a driving error though. My Taco was a salvage title and had some major work done. I was alone so I got out to scout that rock step, but I forgot to engage the E-brake. The parking pawl didn't hold on the steep road and my poor Taco went zipping down the side of the hill, rolled 1.5 times and stopped beside the lower road. It was not a fun day, but it all worked out. I was happy to be rid of that salvage. NEVER BUY A SALVAGE TITLE VEHICLE.

Probably because KZread is punishing me for not being a full time employee 😂. Work is kicking my -, but once I finish MSV, I’m going to start producing detailed but shorter trail videos weekly. I’ll still be filming and making the longer multiple vehicle trail guides, but right now my time isn’t allowing efficient editing of those. This is probably a good move tho as I’ll cover a ton of trails this summer and I won’t have pressure to rush a full trail guide. I’m hoping they’re still pretty good and I’ll be testing new filming techniques while filming them. I’m pretty excited for the change... lots of Moab trails that should be checked out, but may not be worth while if you only have a short time there.

At the end of the bed (just before the long water crossing) it kinks hard to the right and then the left with a bit of a step to climb up. I didn't know if my Raptor could do that.
