To anyone wondering why Yuki and Ran did not play, they just taking some rest since they just finished Italian league at the end of last month. So, they do not has much practice with the team and probably still quite tired. They are taking a break for the first week of VNL. They will join the team for the 2nd and 3rd week of VNL in Japan and Philippines.

Nishida - 24 points (highest), what a beast. Kai - 16 points, 20yrs old! WOW. What a game . Sekita played absolutely great, just like always. Plus his quicks with onodera were just too good Yamauchi with great blocks. Everyone played simply amazing.

True. I still wonder why he hasn't got any best setter award. Is it because he's short? Even last year at AVC he got robbed from getting the award. I wish he got the recognition someday despite being small

Sekita has great defense and his setting is fast, not more tho. He's not too much accurate, he is a big hole in the block, and his service is irrelevant. There are also better setting setters (Janusz, De Cecco, Christenson). I'm not saying he's bad but in my opinion he 's often overrated, I heard for example he's in top 5 setters in the world and I really can't agree. If he would be better blocker he probably would be in top 5, still not the best

Japan with their first win without their two important players! Masahiro Sekita literally had a good distribution today as he produced 4 players in double digits. Yamauchi as the Captain really stepped up today. Even Kai who missed two consecutive hits but got the winning point. Everyone had a fantastic game, especially our today's Player of the Match Yuji who scored 24. What a great first win to start the VNL 2024.

女子バスケでは、中国は世界ランク2位で日本より上の順位とはいえ、日本はパリ五輪予選で世界ランク4位と5位の🇪🇸🇨🇦がいる死の組で2カ国に勝ってパリ五輪出場を決めたらしいね。ちなみに東京五輪は日本が準優勝だったらしい

Even with the absence of Yuki and Ran, Japan was still able to win the match! It was a total team effort plus, their solid floor defense! 🤗 Sekita's ball distribution is also on point, 4 players in double digits (Yuji - 24, Kai - 17, Yamauchi - 16, Tomita - 14). I would also like to commend Kai and Tomita for stepping up big time as well filling up that OH position! They did great in this game too. Congrats, Japan!

Japan is not team B. It's still team A. It's a combination of team A and 2nd stringers which are part still part of Team A. Team B is led by Yanagida along with Keihan Takahashi. Their libero (Yamamoto), setter (Sekita), MBs (Onodera, Yamauchi, and Opp (Nishida) are Japan's 1st six in Team A.. :) Just edited my post! Got confused gor a bit there hehe.
