Hi! Happy Easter, God lives through Aretha’s music, as she is spiritual, very! Because folk nowadays are deeply into witchcraft, voodoo, Santeria, Haitians, Hispanics some of them I have had to take to Federal court for trying to steal from me and tried to harm me because of my good work ethics for the Lord and the USA, when I prayed day and night of them giving me problems, God immediately stepped in to help me, and he slung them to the ground. God is good!🙏🏾❤️☀️☕️🥯🌼added note: I listen and pray to Aretha’s song “Think” in the morning and another very Talented Singer, Artist: Lynn Collins at night : “THINK” these songs keep you strong willed and strong mind to keep tackling any evil against you!🙏🏾😇⚡️🦋🌸

I would like to offer a sincere debt of gratitude to The Blues Brothers movie for introducing me to Aretha and Ray Charles and many others. I couldn't have been too much more than 10
One of many of her songs that mainstream oldies stations never plays. Such a disservice to leave this classic off their playlists. This was one of those songs that uplifted an otherwise uncertain me at a time that things were not the best. At my then-age (13) my radio was my best friend.

Yes, God Bless The Blues Brothers and all, but the original Rhythm tracks of the guitar the original percussion tracks, the original bass tracks, the originals are much much much better versions. Listen to those. Ackroyd says as much, he's all about honoring and providing homage The Originators and making sure people still listen to the blues now and into the future. Listen to the originals.

I grew up listening to some of the greatest music ever produced, this song being one of them. Aretha was a woman, like a God mother, whom I looked up to and learned to borrow her poise and grit. Singing along with her this song is actually one of the more complex lyrically and vocally to follow. YES, this woman is the definition of what it means to be beautifully savage, in my opinion.

According to a Wikipedia article referring to the album's liner notes, on this song Aretha played the piano herself. Lyrics are also by Aretha (also credited to her husband Ted White, but it's doubtful he wrote anything other than checks to himself.) Impressive musicianship, for sure!
