To those IDIOTS, who deal with a video's aidio, and replace it with a 'clean' digital track, and post it - pushing its 'HQ' sound, THIS is FAR better. Yes, it might be mono, yes, it's not pristine, BUT; Jess REAL, and the energy you get, from the audience, and the awesome work provided by the Blossoms (who are NOT the backup singers I the record), is SO much better than listening to 'prefect' digital audio from a recordibg, which you've racked on. I know I'm not alone in both loving Ms Franklin's great performance (and that of the Blossoms, 'natch). THIS it's AWESOME

@@cedrickharrell5291 She has sung background for almost every artist in the business in the 60's and 70's. She used to come on the David Letterman Show every year and sing her Holiday Classic, "It's Christmas( Baby Please Come Home". Also, contrary to popular belief, Miss Darlene Love is the TRUE God-mother of the late Miss Whitney Houston.
Darline love look like she was about to shout

She sho-nuff actually did!
Good GOD from Zion!!!! Beautiful, poised, classy, feminine, and that voice!!! The music was superb, the energy, and the it looked like a goid time!!! The Queen!!
The Queen of Soul. Long live The Queen
She was such a lovely young woman.
I believe that's Billy Preston playing piano, and my favorite guitar player James Burton is playing guitar. Burton played the jangly guitar on all those Ricky Nelson singles.
No doubt about it, she smashed this!
'if you wanna know'.....we do!!! Aretha rips loose 1.01. Love the fact they all knew this was something special....
She's was beautiful.
A beautiful singer and a delightful interpretation.
Rest in powerful peace homegirl Queen of Soul🙏 25 March 1942 ~ 16 August 2018⚘
Aretha will always be Aretha
THIS it's AWESOME
ok, now I wish I heard this many years before. Strange I only knew the Cher version Aretha's performance was outstanding!!!!
Darlene Love felt that!
Wow.
Darlene Love The Background singer. Is also Whitney Houston's God Mother..
This, she is delightful. Queen of soul for a reason
NICE MS. FRANKLIN
great backing band!
Legend
They all turned at 1:43 from that note and range 😆
Looks a lot like glen campbell on bass
Areta Franklin ! Diana Ross!! Eta James e muitas outras cantoras da Black music vão estar sempre na minha playlist de músicas 👏👏👏👏👏
*Thank goodness **_Betty Everett_** made this Song a #1 Hit in 1964.* It didnt' chart the year before with Merry Clayton. *It's been Recorded by dozens of artists and groups around the world since.* I love hearing it. Every Artist has their own rendition of this song and it's all good. Some way better than others. *_Love Aretha's and Cher's._*

And was written by Rudy Clark actually by a man ☺️
Y'all see Darlene Love up there in the middle on background vocals having the time of her life when Aretha starts to go IN.
Does ANYONE REMEMBER that EPISODE of TINY TOON ADVENTURES when they had BABS (the female rabbit) sing RESPECT by ARETHA... they even had ARETHA on the COVER of the CASSETTE TAPE she listened to ❤
Never knew Darlene sang with Aretha!!
Aretha and Darlene Love on a song?!? WOW!!!
Absolutely love Darlene Love's reaction while Aretha is getting into the meat of the song at the tail end. Thank you posting that as is one of the best versions of that song
1:41 sis in the middle felt that
How fab to see ReRe giving this song what for and the lovely Darlene Love (centre) on backup vocals..a great coming together of talent😀
Inmensa, grande e irrepetible Aretha,!!!,
I swear the Blossoms could background for anybody and sound angelic.❤

If my people had beginning to use their amazing gifts collectively from a long time ago instead of complaining all the time who can imagine how great we could've been as a race and people.
Such happiness here!
I'm here for you know what 🙂🙂🙂
Darlene also did the backing vocals for the very first recorded version by Merry Clayton as well
The Queen is just a 🎶 🎤 🎵 singer above all singers, what can she not do with that amazing 💝 gift that God gave to her❤❤❤🔥💥💫👑

Fabulous
So beautiful!!!!
Her range was so wide when she was young. No wonder whitney houston loved her , i can hear remnants of this in whitneys later vocals.
Never been a fan of Aretha, but "the note" is one for the books. #shedidthat
WOW!
Beauty!
Killed it.
Such a class act...what a woman she was!!
Got that
Uh oh....The Queen of Soul got a hold of it. Don't forget it's Betty Everett's song.

Aretha sang hundreds of covers of other peoples songs, it was super common back then for artists to do that

It's not Betty Everett version is a cover also .Merry Clayton did the original version
01:36 esa potencia!!!
The way the back up singer reacted to the note Aretha hit...!The mic didn't have the technology to record the extent of a Aretha's voice. Unfortunate for us now

Grandissima Aretha ❤
Yep
Que clase, insuperable
Cool
ALL of The Blossoms reacted to Aretha's squalling, not just Darlene.
La versión de CHER también muy buena, le hizo un buen homenaje.

Buena pero no le llega a esta
and i believe that's Billy Preston on the Hammond organ at about 1:20
Aretha had a real talent for stealing other girls songs and singing them better
