Aretha Franklin revisits church and childhood home in Detroit

The family of Aretha Franklin continues to plan memorial events following the legendary singer's death on Thursday at the age of 76. Back in 2011 for "CBS Sunday Morning," Anthony Mason had the chance to visit the church that sowed Franklin's roots with the Queen of Soul herself.

I suppose I am hurt because I am going to miss her representation of Soulful music or her legacy or perhaps the idea of Good music to enjoy. Aretha music can bring back the cherished memories I have of my mother or make my soul peaceful and tranquil when the chaos of the world seems too much. Aretha I will miss you and I thank you for sharing your music, your legacy, your soul! Rest Easy Queen

Can't believe it has been 3 years since losing Aretha Franklin. RIP Hero (1942-2018). She will be missed.

We place OUR opinion on what these stars are like, I know I comment on them. But I'm going to remember that they are humans too, it breaks my heart to hear of the tragedy that they go through. S.I.P. MISS FRANKLIN 🌷🎤🎶🎵💜
