H.B. Barnum should have been her conductor and arranger to the end. Something about how he did her concert arrangements. He understood how to shape her music to her voice. Forever and always the Queen of Soul.

They worked together for well over 30 years. During that time she fired and rehired him several times. But being a lifelong fan Aretha and seeing her in concert several times, I also agree that he seemed to know how to follow her and her style of singing.
