Updating the mastery seems really cool, since that's a part of league that we haven't seen updated in a long time, but the new icons and mastery emotes feel a little bit overloaded, as if they were from a mobile game with overpriced cosmetics, if ther le WAS a way, I'd still like it if they would have some of their original flair maybe without the giant circles in the middle?

I support you bro. Adding circles never felt right to me and flashy stuff doesn't really sells out the Mastery symbols. I think they should stick with sharp symmetrical edges and a medal-like design for all of them.

Agree, and you can see they're ignoring the feedback on the visuals of the system when that's what people are most upset about with the new system. The mastery 5, 6, and 7 emotes are iconic at this point and they really shouldn't be touching them.

4000+ employee company: - Takes 4 months to add 8 players and a few items to arena - Takes 8 months to implement new mastery system after it was already revealed and fully functioning - Takes months/years to update the character model of 1 character - Takes 3+ years to announce new PvE gamemode with the words "we are not ready to show *anything* yet" Honestly sounds great working at Riot. Getting paid a full-time salary to actually work for about 7 hours per year.

PvE GAMEMODE IS BACK LETS GOOOOO - and finally an update on teemo

Riot, you have millions of players. You could bring every single RGM out (OFA, Spellbook, URF, ARURF, Arena, Nexus Blitz) and have no issue with queue times. Smite has many different game modes. Fortnite has many different game modes (even more now that they have the dev kit out ala roblox style). Just give us a button that opens a new menu full of RGM modes, but this BS that playtime decreases over time needs to stop. It's absolutely NOT an excuse when you have such a massive playerbase. There's so many of us out there that have interest in normal league or ARAM anymore, my friends and I specifically will only play league if it's URF/ARURF/Arena/Blitz, we don't like the other modes anymore.

They should bring Doom Bots back, it was one , if not the best gamemode in my opinion

I love that you took the successes of TFT with Augments, Anvils, Prismatics and are trying a bunch of different ways to put them into arena!

>prismatic items should shape the way you play >example prismatic item gets stats for winning, loses stats for losing so what way to play is this encouraging? winning? like you're not trying to do that every round already? it's just gonna be a snowball nightmare if someone gets it with busted augments.

I really like this dev and everything mentioned. Its create to hear that the devs listen to feedback and try to be their best. The one tiny little thing im scared about is if the PVE is champion specifc. Please let us play the PVE mode with the champions we want to play, and not force us into character we dont enjoy or simply dont want. Other than that im super hyped.

Back when TFT had a legend buff that you could select pregame (i.e. Ezreal, Twisted Fate, Mastery Yi) for a guaranteed augment option in the game. That made TFT feel a lot less luck based and gave you more control. An option like that could be a ton of fun, if implemented, in Arena.

3:45 Another area of feedback you guys might miss. The new mastery designs are really bad please also fix that.

You can't pick the same champ if it's already selected in Arena, so you will probably see some of the same pairs but also get more variety.

@@rotivric14 correct, but that results into a trickle down effect of sorts where the most broken/fun champs will be picked or banned and people will try to match that by picking the next best thing. so yes, it opens up room for more variety, but it basically boils down to facing almost the same variety of champs you'd see in 3-5 arena games condensed into one. unfortunately the more you play and win the less variety you see due to people valuing their sweet arena pts or ez wins even more than their lp.

I think a solution for the player retention in atleast the Arena gamemode would be to expand on your existing "ranked" in the gamemode. As it has been for the last two iterations, the ranks themselves don't effect your mmr going into a game of arena. Because of this the more "competitive" arena players are quickly growing bored of the gamemode as anyone can get gladiator ranking without sweating too much in a span of very few days. My suggestion to this would be to go a similar route akin to 5v5 and simply have a "normal queue" and a "ranked queue" for the gamemode. Maybe you can throw in a wrench in the normal queue, spicing it up with more chaos along the way, whilst keeping the "ranked queue" in place for those players that really want to achive and display their mastery in the 2v2..-2v2 gamemode. Arena definitely has potential to be a permanent addition to the game, but i think distinguishing the gamemode into a casual and competitive version would greatly improve the quality of the games, it would certainly even the playing field a lot more so you don't have high diamond solo queue players queue up and banishing mortal silver/gold players who are just wanting to have a giggle.

listen i fully understand the mythic item/prismatic item concept. i can get behind "one item defines your build" for certain situations. arena should not be one of those situations. you said it yourselves, arena is a mode where youre allowed to be crazy with item builds. prismatics and mythics defeat the point, no?

I would love it if arena could change the abilities of champions. Like the champion you choose is a base, but later you can choose to reroll randomly one of your 4 abilities. Something like Rammus rerolling his E into Hecarim E or something stupid like Xerath gaining Kayn’s wall phase. I think it would add a lot more randomness since champion select is the only thing not really affected in arena.

This was my first thought as well. They removed mythics so they won't limit builds and people can buy whatever they want Then introduce prismatic items which will be powerful and have interesting effects, so you'll likely want to buy at least one each game Given this is a different gamemode, but still. Feels weird

I honestly play league only for Arena mode with my friends, the 5v5 games are too bad sadly its 1v5 in general In 99% of matches I get 4 idiots in my team ruining the fun, but on arena , beeing a 2v2 it is way more safe, I love it from the begining, because is a small area map is so much fun! SOO BRING ARENA BACK FASTER PLEASE! WE CAN'T WAIT FOR IT. I hope they make it permanent this time.
