Thank you for this. I'm fighting every day with myself. I know, that something is not like it suppose to be. You named it. I want to change "fight/ must" for " I choose/ I want".✊

Oooh, I love this!! What a great insight about "fight/must" - and remember that your body isn't your enemy. It wants exactly what you want, it's just been battered and bruised in a way. It still has SO many wonderful qualities - like thousands of heart beats and breaths a day, the ability for our eyes to take in so many colors and sights, the ability for our skin and cells to regenerate, to be able to smell, and so many other functions that we tend to forget and under appreciate. So your body isn't out to fight you, it just needs a bit of support to get it back to where it wants to be. 💕

Heres the issue I have, someone says hey I made some pasta, responding with I choose not to eat gluten sounds a bit odd so its hard to come up with social ways to say it that also incorporate this positive mentality.

That’s a really great point. When it comes to that I usually say something like “I unfortunately don’t tolerate x because it makes me sick” or “that makes my autoimmune symptoms flare up really badly”. I also can just say “I have Celiac disease” and that shuts people up too, but I know not everyone has that diagnosis available in their back pocket to use. It’s ok if you loosen up about what you say when trying to talk to other people about it and still want to be firm. It’s more the spirit of what you’re saying to yourself on a regular basis. If you say “I can’t eat that” to your MIL but in your head and body feel “because I choose not to” it’s a whole different story than if you say “I can’t eat that” and then feel resentment and frustration in your body. Does that make sense? In the end it’s more about how you feel about what you’re saying and doing- and our words leave clues as to what you’re feeling.

Thanks! I just recently took over our play room since the kids weren't really using it anymore. And figured I'd make it pretty 😀

Such a good video! I've wanted to ask u a question-not subject related: did you ever experience hair loss with your autoimmune condition? I am going through this presently.

Thanks! And yeah. I always seemed to lose more hair than I thought I should through my 20's, and then I didn't seem to stop the post-partum hair loss after my 2nd kid. So I mean, part of it could've been from that, but because it didn't stop (for over 2 years) it most likely was from my Hashi's. It was definitely way more than I ever expected to lose in a brush, when I ran my fingers through my hair, or in the shower drain. I also lost a large amount of hair in my eyebrows. I plucked them when I was in my teens (ah, fashion, lol) but they kept thinning through my mid-30's. Luckily once I changed my diet and healed my gut both my head hair and eyebrow hair stopped falling out at scary rates. I will say - hair is one of the last things to rectify when you're trying to fix your diet, etc as it's considered to be a "nonessential" system, just like your skin and nails. So have patience with this as it can feel like nothing is working at first. And concentrate on getting in lots of nutrients - that will help the process!

Off topic do you know why I'd react to all thyroid medicine? I was stable 3 years on Unithroid and now I react to it. Severe anxiety, adverse reactions but levels are still hypo. She did increase me one day per week 2 months ago. Not sude if this is why 😢
