    I use my Dream 65 on the edge of breakup, always. After using it for a long time before time based effects, I’ve found that the Dream on the end of the chain, wich creates a dirtier/more compressed sound is actually my kind of sound. And it sounds HUGE in stereo haha. Awesome video man! Keep uo with the good work

    Hey cheers Corey! Man, I've been gigging with my dream pedal for a whole tourist season in Florida. i put a tuner, an MXR Sugar drive and a mini delay with it and its been gold. Blowing minds of my friends (not my playing; just the pedal) LOL!!!😅😂🥰 Thanks for turning me on to the UAFX amps! I still love my Deluxe tuber though. I feel ya, man. LOL

    This is how I’m using my TONEX. I found great Deluxe Reverb, AC 30, and Marshall Plexi models, and I use the built-in reverb. Pedals needed for me are treble boost and Klone (Tumnus) before, delay pedal (Halo) after. Bingo! No amp needed and sounds great. Thanks, Corey!

    I started off playing electric guitar with just an Amp, but soon added the classic pedals to create a usable pedalboard/rig. Next, I got an Amp Simulator pedal, then got a combination Amp Simulation/Effects unit. Then came s full fledged Floor Modeler. With each purchase, I was solving the limitations each rig had. I now use an HX Stomp, as it is small enough to sit on my desk, but also works in the floor, has tons of Amps, Cabs, Effects, Mics, etc., and has the versatility to do just about everything I want in the way I need. The UA Pedals sound very good, but one of the things that pushed me into using Modelers was the inability for most Pedals to save Presets. I could not put up with spending a lot of time to dial in an awesome tone on a pedal, only to have it vanish and become difficult to recreate when I had to change the Effect pedal settings for a different song. That was the main in the coffin for using such pedals.

  • @notonyourlife7939
    @notonyourlife793910 ай бұрын

    The problem that many players have transitioning from amps to modelers is that they assume they will be able to recreate the "amp in the room" sound they've known their entire lives. When that fails to materialize they conclude that modelers suck, and take to the airwaves to lament the fact that they're are incapable of doing something that they were never designed to do in the first place. The whole point is to create a RECORDED guitar tone, NOT the raw sound of a tube amp and a couple of pedals roaring away through a 4x12 a few feet from your head. Modelers create the combination of amp+speaker cabinet+the MICROPHONE that captures it all. The legendary tones that we all grew up associating with a particular guitarist are NOT what those rigs would have sounded like if you had been standing next to them in the studio the day those albums were recorded. This crucial difference seems to be lost on a lot of folks...

    @@Joormode Try both. I would prefer it before the amp as to not "modulate" my amp tone before hitting time based fx. However, Fender tremolo was placed after reverb in the original amps!

    Ive been using the Dream 65 since 2 months after it released. I really like it. I still find myself longing for a real good tube amp, but i love having the direct option for my pedalboard and it works well for me. I think it takes pedals very well also. Never used to be a modeler type of person, but i think UA did a fantastic job with this pedal. Sounds great, but it also feels good too. Signal chain goes OCE Pedals The Wrench V2, into the input of a Mesa Highwire Dual Buffer, send out of the Highwire to a Jam Pedals Wachko, into a Empress Compressor MkII, into a EQD Grand Orbiter V3, into a 903 Effects Rune (White Face Rat) into a King Tone The Duellist current version, into a Wamper Tumnus Mini, into a Keeley Super AT Mod, into a Kasleder Toxic Twins, into a Cornerstone Gladio, into the return of the Mesa Highwire, comes out of the output of the Highwire into the UAFX Dream 65, into a Ernie Ball VPJR, into a Boss MD-500, outputs of the MD-500 in stereo into a Styrmon Timeline, into a GFI Systems Specular Tempus, into a Walrus Audio Stereo Canvas then sends to my audio interface.

    There’s another thing to consider with the UA amp pedals, I have the Ruby. They are unbuffered output pedals, no problem running into an audio interface which provides a buffer but they an have problems running into powered cabs . I had some issues running into Line 6 Powercab plus, went away using another pedal as a buffer in the signal. The buffer pedal doesn’t need to be switched on, just powered up and in the chain.

    Well done. I appreciate your approach in this demo. Helps me out because I have the Dream pedal and was curious about how the 1176 will work with it. Your Dream appears to have a red LED by each switch and they both appear to be on at the same time. My Dream has a red light by the left switch and a green LED by the right with comes on only when using a preset. Mine never has both LEDs on at the same time. Am I missing something? Perhaps it just the lighting in the vid that makes look like they are both on.

  • @progpogs

    @progpogs

    10 ай бұрын

    @@coreycongilio Thanks for trying to answer, sorry of I'm unclear, I just hear from others that too many analog to digital conversions in your chain can be a bad thing. It doesnt seem to matter for time-based effects, since the processed signal can come out slightly offset with no issue, and many have analog dry through to that end. Its more unusual to see a digital drive/comp/etc though, although I see digital EQs from time to time. When it comes to stacking those things though, and clipping, analog clipping tends to be desirable, but I didn't know if clipping one of these pedals would be like clipping an interface, in that its not usually a good thing. I can ask UA I suppose too I'm sure theyve considered all this. Your vid sounds great though.

    The UA compact Comp, Plate and Delay are bulletproof best of pedals for a live gig. Easy to change between tunes and all 3 have the potential of being always on pedals. A wedding band guy could even use them all. I am in an all original material power trio and handle it all. I write, play and am the only singer. You only get one chance for a first impression and the majority of gigs over half the crowd have never heard the tunes. The sound quality can not be compromised but the pedals need to be easy to use and to the point. Anything bordering on Shoegaze or SciFi is useless for the gig. Nothing is better than a Plate for an always on and the best plate is unlikely to be found on any Verb pedal with multiple verb choices. I noted you are like me. Delay is a great ambience but it should never be competing with the guitar as center of attention. It is a pictures frame not the picture. A compressor, once again is a tool and the UA is totally ideal for what it does and even more so for what it doesn't do. The other UA compact verb is like 99% out there just another out of countless rooms of all or any size. Easily substituted by a Plate where the reverse is only occasionally true and even then not on every tune at a gig. In short the Compact line did not need it. A modulation pedal would have been more useful. A simple Phaser, Flanger and Chorus would do the trick. not so many attention to detail is sacrificed. Others tend to be complex in reproducing all their detailed but loved foibles like the UniVibe or Leslie.
