So real for this. Content creation/pro gaming is a blessing but not everything is perfect. If it's something you're looking to get into it you should be prepared for the not so great parts of it. I'm very thankful to be in a great position with friends and family I've had from the very beginning but if you're not prepared this "career" path it can really get the best of you. My advice is hold yourself accountable to separate your work life from your home life. Give yourself time off and allow yourself to still have fun and not always focus on "the grind". Glad things are getting better for you man. Your mental is always the most important thing. Keep being you!

Bro they don't. I'm 27. Talking to a buddy who's 26. I told him about the rule change and he was in support of it. I understand wanting to grind an not wanting to give up on a goal but I think a lot of people (aspiring pros, to the casual viewer and everything in between) do NOT understand the amount of isolation they're going to endure and what kind of mental toll that can be. I have the same mental issues as some pro esports players for the same reason. Isolation can be an incredibly dangerous monster. I dont think they understand just how much isolation theres going to be. Thanks again for saying what you did. Hopefully coming from a pro, some might heed the warning. Love you bro. Grinding ranked while everyone flames you for one mistake always is hard cos you’re trying to do your best. Only thing you can do is brush it off otherwise your mental goes down down down. It was an incredible experience to see you live, even though you weren’t feeling well and left the stage after absolutely CLIPPING to end the game. I personally want to go pro, and this isn’t changing that, but I do need to be aware of what to look out for to keep a decent mental going forward whether I make it or not. Relationships are the thing that I value over all others, and I think part of why I want to go pro is to make those relationships with some of the people I grew up watching because I just feel connections to people so easily, but that can be a very dangerous road to go down. Thank you for uploading videos like these, they help a shit ton.

Ngl man, anyone above a certain age understands it’s not all fun and games. You gotta work hard, and there’s lots of isolation due to the grind. But at the end of the day - you are able to provide for yourself and your family to the extent that many, many people just are not able to. By playing video games. Most jobs really fucking suck. You’re not getting paid $16 an hour, dealing with an annoying and creepy coworker who doesn’t realize he’s annoying as fuck and won’t stop yapping, dealing with a shitty boss that tries to guilt trip you for calling out sick so you can rest and not get everyone else sick, with shitty/missing benefits, and the list goes on. It doesn’t invalidate what you’re going through, but that’s just how it is man. At least you’re compensated and you can play video games. I think a therapist, a couple close real friends and a gf that actually cares about you and not your money/clout would help you immensely. Because being lonely sucks. But at least you’re able to actually live.

Arsenal. I appreciate and applaud you putting this video out. This is a really important message that needs to be said more. I’m glad you chose to advocate for these youngsters trying to make it by doing either crazy or dangerous stunts. It probably is fun at first but it will take a toll. I used to be in the crowd asking for more videos and saying “I wish they would post more, cmon do it for the fans!” But watching Flakes one day (he streams very little) he mentioned having a life and doing things. It made me realize one fundamental thing. There is a person on the other side of the camera and they have needs just like I do to socialize, be with friends and family, instead of being in front of that camera. I do realize that it’s a job and we are the consumers but that doesn’t mean that you are here for our beck and call. You do it for you and if you start hating it, then it’s time to reflect and if you make the decision that you are going to quit, I’m behind you with support 100%. That’s not an easy decision but I will be rooting for you to take care of yourself. You come first. This message is really important and should be spread more and come to the light. The issue is, money knows how to drown these messages out. I know Leth has said things about it but who here remembers that? Why isn’t that at the forefront still. Again, appreciate you Arsenal for putting this out there and using your platform to be that voice. I’m sorry to hear about all you went through but I’m glad to hear you’re doing better. It does make me happier you are posting less and taking care of yourself more. Please please please continue to do that.

Wasgud Arsenal, ngl man, this video really opened my mind in a way that you probably can't even imagine. I've always looked up at you and other Rocket League players and i was like " Damn I really wanna be as good as them so i can joing a team." In 2021 I started focusing a lot on Rocket League, trying to improve and climb ranks. However, I reached a point where I wasn't getting better anymore, not ranking up or anything, and I started getting more and more stressed. It really messed with my mind, and in 2022, I started experiencing a pretty hard depression. I had disappointments in relationships, suicidal thoughts and, I was at rock bottom. Just like you said, i wasnt feeling fulfilled. I've never had friends or anything like that, I've always been lonely and introverted as hell. Like you mentioned, my best friend was my controller and my monitor, and I still got insanely frustrated. I still trying to play Rocket League well enough to join a team. This season I'm focusing on 1v1, but I'm seriously thinking about giving up because it's bringing more stress than happiness. My mental sanity is just gone, and your video made me reflect a lot. Thank you so much for the video and for opening my mind brother, you'll always be the best... stay safe bro

Some of the most stressful moments were always in view of tons of the public. Add a competitive game to that kind of performance anxiety, and things get real, real fast. Its not all figured out but thats totally fine cause its a process like most things in life and as you said the direction is what matters. I instantly thought about my life when i heard you talking so passionate about what was going on in your life. I hope you are in a better place than you were before or at least on a path towards it, because thats all what matters. Its a process and time is the biggest component! Much love for you and your honesty! ❤

Appreciate you, man! This message goes past RL and content creation. It happens in school, work, home life, etc. There’s a fine line between being authentically you and putting our emotions to the wayside for validation. In the end, you’ll almost always be happier being the authentic you. Of course to some degree, you need to create an ego for yourself, but it doesn’t have to be the idea of “ego” that has the negative connotation. More so, just a true sense of confidence in your authenticity and who you are and that it’s okay to be you, exactly as you are. Keep on killing it, Arsy 😎

Arsenal, I've watched you play for a while now and I've always thought you were a genuine dude. I love that you are out here speaking truth, your truth to the community because as glamorous as this life looks and sounds there's always the negative/dark side to it that no one knows, no one sees, no one even considers. You are doing something that most content creators, professional athletes, esports pros, and any other individual with a similar stature wouldn't even consider for fear of taking a hit from a monetary standpoint. Thank you for putting this out there because for a lot of people they don't come to this realization until much later in life when it's too late or worse after the darkness has its complete hold on them and they succumb to it.

Sure you have people that look up to you but exactly like you said, when you sit back down in yo room, its just you and yo mental game… thank you for talking about how you have to act different to even get into some different groups especially for friends. I love this video so much and you speak exactly how i feel which makes me feel better knowing im not the only one that feels and thinks this way.

There to young to be even at that amount of stress in their lives. your words really reached me deep inside. You spoke straight facts and people do have to understand that no everything is what it seems. We need more people like you spreading their experiences to people that want to pursue something that can look harmless.

This has really good parallels to having your own business too.. essentially being a pro gamer is also having your own brand and experience the same things. When you go all in on one thing, its challenging to balance things bc the way we're taught balance is actually wrong. Balance is just giving an activity the amount of time it needs to level up. IE If you wanna go pro Instead of grinding 200hrs shooting from champ > ssl then instantly pushing for bubble player When you hit X goal, take a beat, see what the opportunity cost of that goal was (ie did you skip work outs to get more ranked games in?) Than go and spend some time to regain your health and mental, and then optimize your day to day habits so you dont lose your mental health Once a week minimum should go and hang out with friends Daily should work out at least once, if you're sitting more than 8hrs, then at least 3-4hrs of working out and movement With a very healthy diet Hold your health accountable, and make sure you take into account your physical and spiritual health. Life gets so much harder as you get older. Invest your teens and 20s well. Good vid bro!

I’m not much older at 29 years old but this video speaks to much more than RL. It honestly speaks to life. It’s so important to take a step back, ground yourself to reality, and consider the things you truly care about in life. Most things good or bad are temporary. I think the most important thing in life is relationships and the people around us. It gives us more life purpose.

Bro speaking facts, one thing I’ll say though is you can feel that way without being successful too. Money is definitely important and it does help, but it only brings temporary satisfaction, not true happiness. I don’t think you should go through life focused on becoming as rich and successful as you can because like you said, at the end of the day when you’re sitting there all alone in your room none of that matters. I think you should find what makes you feel fulfilled and do it, whether it’s the same thing all the time, or something new every time. Whether it makes you rich or pays minimum wage. As long as it’s something that you’re passionate about and you truly enjoy doing that’s all that matters. If you’re reading this stay strong, it might not feel like it some days but you’re gonna reach your goals. 💪

A part of why I stopped making KZread videos is because I felt like I needed to script it and rerecord things until they sounded good. That I needed to only make a video when there was a visual element that others would enjoy. For some more context, I make video games. That takes time. There's a lot going on in life right now. Senior year of HS, getting ready for college, family stuff, financial stress.. I put a lot of work on myself this year with DE and AP classes. I have therapy, which has helped, but I digress. There's a voice that tells me that I could be working more; another that says to have a better work-life balance. I see KZreadrs quitting, this video, and some stuff from the past. I've gone through quite a bit of stuff. I'm optimistic and confident about my future. Maybe I'm talking to a void yet again, but this video was helpful. This stuff doesn't only apply to Rocket League. Life can be scary, but I know I'll get through it. And, it's nice to see various people I've grown up with comment on this.

As a bit of dad advice, this is great wisdom, and insight, and anyone should really listen to this, and not just listen, but really understand the depth of what he is talking about here. This is isn't just about pro gaming, and it isn't just about Rocket League. Apply it to any pursuit in your life. Everything you do in life doesn't have to make you happy, but if it makes you miserable, then you should probably think real hard about avoiding it, or changing careers, paths etc. Really examine what you are losing by continuing your current path.
