Your match taught us that we don't need to change our appearance, preferences and how we act. You followed almost none of the advice from the professionals (except the therapist) and reached your goal.

I can relate to her. I was also growing up tomboy & then when I started meeting more ppl and dating my husband, I also changed a little and wore more feminine clothes. Love changes a person for the better. After married, I rarely to wear feminine clothes now 😂 except for events
I really enjoyed watching Shermin's March when it came out and I'm glad she is still together with Jay. What impresses on me most is her personality, she's awesome. Relatable and funny but sincere. Thanks for the update!
Appreciate the series so much, knowing I’m not alone, in 30s, nv had r/s, seeking love since 2016, went dates, met some creeps, met nice ones but values not align, thinking I’m the problem, shed buckets of tears.. still not giving up!

Good luck!! Don't give up
SHEMIN! Just so you know, you are very inspiring to many out there who do not subscribe to changing themselves to fit into society's mold. Many succumb to the pressure of marriage and eventually get a divorce because they were not ready or they spend the rest of their lives unhappy with each other because they did not know what they want. As an educator, I am witness to adults who make decisions but it is their children who suffer the aftermath of the pressure. Stay authentic, you will be someone I would love to be friends with cos quirky and authentic is very rare in this social media age of everything is perfect and cropped. 😇 To quote: "to some people finding love is a goal. and sometimes they lose sight of the more important things in life, like spending time with friends, family, having a hobby. I hope that the series reminded people that there is life outside of love, there is life outside of dating." May you and Jay enjoy the adventure of life together!
I had preconceived perceptions of how cringy Shermin would be. However, as I continue watching the series, I actually began to like her, her personality and her quirks. I thought she was quite unattractive initially but as time went on, she became more appealing and her personality shone through. I feel she's actually quite pretty now with a really appealing inner world❤❤

It was an interesting, unconventional documentary and the courage to put yourself out there to be judged is admirable.

So happy for you Shermin!!
Loved watching your journey so much, Shermin! I am really so attached to you and your story. Wishing you and Jay all the best!!!
Shermin, i think you are so suited to host dating shows
Hi Shermin, I am a 39 year old happily married mother of two adorable boys. Your story has had many similarities to my own life story. Got bullied in school, never been popular with boys, and then spent my young adulthood chasing my career dreams. I only met my husband when I was 28, it was also on a dating app, but before that I had many of the insecurities, questions, unrequited love and heartbreak like you did. I cried when you were heartbroken because I really empathise with so many parts of your sharing throughout the show. So happy that finally you got together with Jay and started your first relationship. Please if you ever see this know that I’m praying for you to eventually be happily married! 😊 also would love to be friends if you would like to be. I really respect authentic people like you who don’t succumb to the pressure to change yourself for society’s pressures. 😊
You have done well. Keep it up. Go go girl ❤
So glad they are together. This series motivated me to do the same, and put myself outhere haha I was waiting for the one to fall from the sky, but I guess that it's not going to happen. Wish me luck!
Thank you so much for this ❤

So relatable. Still not giving up hope though. May we continue to stay true to ourself and may we get to find that one who love us for who we are
shermin you're hilarious and so real - we love you!
Hi, Shermin, I am very happy that you are still attached. I hope to hear from you one day that you are happily married. All the best to you. 💘
Brave girl Sherman. Like your authenticity in the entire episode and being yourself. Off course, kudos to Rish and Jay being sporting enough to be featured, knowingly it will be pressurising for such a social experiment featured on national TV. Nonetheless, be patience and my best wishes to you and Jay, hopefully not too long before you both walk into the next phase in life together. As for Rish, I wish him the best as well in finding someone who is as nice as he is for sure! Kudos to all of you as I am almost certain you all given much confidence and assurance to many out there that there is always hope, just be oneself and positive. Go! Go! Go Sherman!

Congrats!
I really love this series so much !
Let's do a Part 3
Yes we shouldn’t lower our bar! Find a good one or live a good life on your own. Can’t compromise that
Well, I'm kinda having this "social experiment" myself. True enough there's burnt out in terms of mentally which is very important. Time to time take a break and discover something else helps to ease the situation. Sometimes I will wonder is it "my problem" or what? But so long I'm being Authentic and honest to myself and others, then why is it "my problem"? Why, love so hard? Why have to change yourself to become someone else's like? Be my own boss of my image and emotion.
I love you Shermin.....❤❤❤❤❤❤❤. You are awesome 🙌
I think when we reach our 30s, we know ourselves better n are done with bs, superficial stuff, embracing ourselves more and less fake. When you are genuine, you will meet genuine people.
I actually like this documentary because it is very relatable. So glad that it has a good result and encourage people to reach out
You are adorable, Shermin! Congratulations on finding your someone to love 😊
Keep the Episode coming. Maybe can do a Sherman Dating Life
I really enjoyed Sherman’s March. So much wise counsel and supportive family and friends.

The main thing is to keep the main thing, the main thing. Maybe one needs to take a leap of faith every now and then. Thanks for being you. I'm sure you gave energy and strength to many. In return, I hope this translates to more and many others. Your hand will clasp in with your partner's hand like a perfect 🔐 when it clicks. Focus where you need to. Love Shermin’s positive vibes!
ur very cheerful. u make me smile too.
Yes!! Dating show for Rish! I liked him a lot.
Happy for Shermin and Jay! Have to say am rooting for SherminRish earlier 😂

So happy for you Shermin that you are still together and hope that you guys get married and have childrens. When i saw you holding hands together i knew he was the right man for you and he was alot caring too and that is the most important thing mens should do when they have a girlfriend. 🥰
Shermin is a national treasure of Singapore. Ugh, so adorable 😩🫰🏾
8:21 timeframe i laughed so hard shermin is so hilarious pls
this vid will remove fear that older ppl hav w/regards to finding their spouse when they are old/unexperienced.... Thanks
I love how she is so happy and giddy when talking about Jay, lah.
Dating has become difficult. I mean, it's weird that two absolutely fine people like Shermin and Jay are over 30 and have never actually dated/been in serious relatioship. While Shermin may not be conventionally beautiful, she's certainly likable and seems fun to be around. I don't see any big issues with Jay either. So why? Maybe the problem is that people nowadays have little time to meet and get to know each other? In certain ways we live in a bigger world now, but in other days the world as in people we know/actually interact with in real life has shrunk.

The amount of effort that had to put in is highly discouraging especially on the guy side
@MrGianeta

@@tobyc8668 well, you might not like my thoughts on this, but I do think it has always been hard. It was never easy. I mean, if I look at my parents, it took my Dad at least a year to woo my mom and it was not a time when casual s. was in vogue. So guys courted for a year or more and were happy to get a kiss or hold hands and such. S. in many cases was reserved for after marriage (not always of course). If you are marriage-minded and put a similar amount of time and effort into a sympathetic woman that finds you a bit attractive and has the same cultural and socioeconomic background as you, who knows? one might get similar results. From the age of 20 to 30 you have 10 years. That's quite enough to find a single woman willing to tie the knot with you. And that's what the old tradition was, right? I don't really think it was ever super easy, that's what my point is.

@@MrGianeta The reality it is much harder compared to the old days. We are not in the old days where uneducated and poor hope to get married to share life burdens together. As society gets more educated, you get more expectations especially for ladies to compare with their peers. Those people who you hang out with/social media, encourages a covetous mindset for an ideal partner. In another words, they see what the world could possibly offer and want more. This is especially so in Singapore. There are data showing that the average ladies in their younger age are chasing the top 5% of guy hoping to catch him while average young guys tend to be less picky at approx 50-55 percent. Sadly for the average young ladies, she will find that it is not easily achievable to score the top 5% of guys. The truth is the top 5% of guys is willing to “hit it”/date with her but he is less likely to be serious. So, she thinks she has a shot at landing that top 5% guy. So she ends up chasing the top 5% of guy hoping to catch him. Sadly for many, she will find he “won’t commit”. That's why they get very depressed as you can see in the documentary. Anyway, here's quotation from an interview in Singapore. When I go on dates, I am open to talking about my salary range and expectations up front," says senior designer Felicia*, 32, who's single and dating. "It's not something I'd bring up during the early stages of dating, but I am clear on how much both of us should have in terms of spending power before getting married. Since I want to have kids, I'm also clear on how much I think we should both earn before starting a family." Dating a man who's earning less than she does is not an instant deal-breaker, but it would factor into her decision about the longevity of the relationship. "I work hard and have seen my salary triple over the years, which has empowered me to spend on a lifestyle that I enjoy. Being in a relationship is about being on the same team, and I would want both of us to work towards a common goal with similar values and lifestyle preferences. Besides, living standards are getting more expensive, and if we have a family, the cost of living will continue to go up," she says, declining to reveal details about her salary. It has also dawned on Felicia that as passionate as she is about her career, she might want to take a year or two off work to focus on being a mum. If that happens, it would fall on her partner to be the sole breadwinner, so it's important that he can handle the financial responsibility of raising a family. Ideally, they'd both earn $10,000 (7500 USD) each when tying the knot, and $15,000 (11200 USD) individually when starting a family. End quote. This is the reality of dating in Singapore, it may not applicable to your country. In general, average guys here are actually wasting their time dating people who did not see them as potential mate in the first place. Even in Shermin case, you could see that her final dates and partners are pretty well to do professionals.

@@tobyc8668 I'm not sure how it contradicts what I'm saying or how it is different from the old days. Your best bet has always been a partner in the same cultural and socioeconomic background. Long story short, if you are poor, don't go after senior designer Felicia, go after a shop assistant that has a comparable salary. The idea is that a woman wants to at least upkeep the same or similar lifestyle that she was able to provide for herself before she started dating/got married and she wants to convey the same lifestyle upon her children. That's why the rich always married amonst themselves, and similarly did the poor and middle class. And sorry, I don't believe that millions of women are running after these mythical 5 %. You'd see it in real life if they were. The road to a certain house or a building would be strewn with female bodies and they would be sitting on top of each other and about everything else like pigeons and crooning or smth. In reality you have a limited number of professional gold-diggers, otherwise women would certainly prefer/fancy richer and more good-looking guys, but not to the point of cutting off every viable option for themselves within their own class. Same as men would love smb super hot and from a very rich family, but it doesn't mean they will absolutely hold out until Angelina Jolie from the times of her youth comes to beg them on her knees and offer her houses and fortune on a golden platter.while she's at it. Men and women can dream, can't they, but dreams are just that.

@@MrGianeta My point is it is much harder than you think it is over here. And. arrange marriage is something common in the past in Asia which you are probably unaware of. And, there are many factors you need to consider: - What is the population makeup over here? - how much of the population is senior designers felicia and how much of it are humble shop assistants? - same cultural and socioeconomic background? Do you know how globalised this country has become? - What are the unique circumstances that disadvantaged man here? It is not the same in all countries.

Whoah, I'm so glad there's an update. Shermin, you're my new idol😢. I'm so glad there are women like you that girls of all ages can look up to ❤
Shermin's march made me have my first boyfriend, and i'm his first girlfriend too! At 28 yrs old, I never had a relationship. I have been in the dating pool since I was 24 y.o but was unable to find him until last yr of September 2023. He came in the most unexpected time. We dated for about 6 weeks (mind you, my date only lasts for 1st or 2nd, I only had one 3rd date) but had a fall-out for about 3 weeks around October, then during that 3 weeks, that is when I saw Shermin's march. I was NBSB (No boyfriend since birth), but Shermin's march taught me to be the right person, not for him, but for myself. I made changes, prioritized myself, and asked what I really wanted. After the modifications, my now boyfriend came back and realized what he lost, and now we are happily together 😊. We met each others family already despite of being such a new couple (less than a month). His mom literally cried when she met me because she thought that her 30 y.o son will never be able to find a girlfriend. 😅 To the NBSB girls out there, keep looking! He exist ❤ add some prayers on it too!
i am an older man but i find this series quite entertaining 😅
