Now that you mention it, I have as well.
It doesn’t matter if you’re singing with your real or fake voice because most of the time your “fake voice” suits a certain part of the song more and you’ll find yourself singing the songs with both your real voice and “fake voice” and sticking to singing with only your real voice limits the number of songs you can potentially sing by A LOT.

When I sing around people, I sound horrible, but when I sing bts in the shower, as I’m Korean so I can sing the lyrics correctly, my parents overhear me and tell me I should become a singer. It’s been my dream since I was 8, which was many years ago, to become a kpop idol. It’s my dream. I know the hardships they go through, but it’s my dream. First, I love your accent! You sound like you’re from the Islands. I wish I could have shown this video to my mother. I was born totally blind in 78. They said I was singing before I talked. So when I started singing opera at seven, my mother thought I was showing off. She would tell me not to do that, because that’s not mmy real voice. So when I was eleven and twelve, I heard soul music for the first time. My dad was a preacher, and I wasn’t to have any music but Christian. They would hear me listening to gospel music, and they would say mean things like, “Why are you playing that black music? What’s wrong with you?” Naturally, I knew they were crazy by that time. So if it didn’t fit with their style of DChristian music, you would go to hell? Okay. Probably, my favorite vocalist is Donny Hathaway, but I love all different styles now. All of that to say, I loved, loved, loved your video about singing, and I hope it helps some of the younger generation not to be so scared. Keep up the great work, and you are beautiful. I don’t need to see you to know that.
I was watching this in the dark and it scared the crap out me 😂😂

I absolutely adore This! It is something I have thought and struggled with for many years! Thank you so much!
Thanks for these tips! It's great to have a refresher course and to know that it's okay that we all have different ranges of our voices. Thanks! 😊
This was sooo helpful! It was always so much easier for me to use my head voice because I've been working on that for years, wherever I never knew how to train my chest ("real") voice. I just tested using my chest voice again while focusing on the place of the resonance around my collar bones and it already sounded better on record!
What a lovely woman and great teacher. Thanks for the tips.
I just want to say thank you so much for this video!! I literally only watched it a day or two ago and I'm already singing songs I never thought I would be able to sing
I really love how you explain about how to try develope your inner voice. Good job Janice
That gingerbread voice killed me lollll
Wow, this really works! I've always struggled with a distinct break in my voice that I didn't know how to get rid of. Just did this exercise a couple of times and it helped me switch from my chest to head voice effortlessly! Thanks for sharing!
I was googling this when your videos popped up because I don't practice exercises and warm ups like I should and want to get back into it and I am so happy to have found your channel! I'm a mum too and a singer/songwriter :) I have 2 little ones and am trying to rebuild my diaphragm strength and voice control and tone quality all over again because of the way having kids has affected my voice from pregnancy. Your content is great! I also love your personality :) just subscribed.
This is a really good instructional video, thank you Janice. I have watched other videos on vocal range and they have not explained it so well. Your use of different terms for 'head voice' and 'chest voice' helped it to click for me.
Nice. This is a combination exercise that I used to practice when I was learning double bass. String players call it a "vomit exercise." Now I know why! Thanks, Janice. I will use this to iron out my vocals.
Thank you for the voice lesson tip, and you have such a beautiful smile.

Such an amazing video, very helpful. Also, accent is just mesmerising
When I first started singing & playing guitar at, what were at that time called hootenannys or coffeehouses, I was given the advice that my speaking voice & my singing voice should be different. I had a slightly high speaking voice. Making it higher, I sounded like a cartoon character; making it lower was even worse. So, I got an idea that not only worked, but has gotten me compliments on my singing. I changed my speaking voice.

I was struggling with my vioce and I often practice hours even after ending zoom classes on vioce training and I am better but when I started practicing I wanted to be so good that I practiced alot, I was straining my voice and most often the next day is either no one can hear when I speak because my voice becomes so low or it's breaking I became frustrated and never thought I could continue practicing to be better. My mom introduced me to this voice highlighting tea that's very helpful and I started using it, I didn't experience voice breaking or any of such no more. Check me description to get your if you been through this.

Volume comes from 3 main things: 1.) air pressure. Think about it. Why can a blow horn make such a loud nose? The can is highly pressurized, and so must be your lungs whenever you sing. Pressurized air = explosiveness 2.) resonance. You must create the right harmonic frequencies (singer's formant) through use of proper embouchure (mouth formation), lack of tension, using a right amount of mouth, and laryngeal resonance for each specific note, right vowel formation etc. this is a complicated one. 3: push. You force the air to increase volume not with your abs, but instead with pelvic floor muscles and pecs in extreme cases. This allows you to push or force air out faster without leading to throat tension
