Welp this video might have had too much cringe in it for some of you ;) Serious note: Each of you play differently or are in different clan situations. Monitoring a war weight will matter to you if you are FWA or Rushed because you more than likely do not have the troop levels to hold up against those really high bases. (Those of you in this situation already know these things). IF, you are playing “normally” and in a SMALL clan, you will need all defenses built to be able to possibly defend your opponent and score those wins in war (I have been in the small clan scene, as the TOP player every war, it can suck if you do not have all defenses built). IF you are in a large clan, you can get away with waiting a few weeks to build those new defenses, but eventually you will want to do that to take the burden off your clan mates. Not having all the defenses build at any town hall level just opens your base up for 3 stars. After 17 months of non-stop play on this account, I have found that regardless of what you do or how you play, it does not hurt your accounts to build those new defenses. Mismatches happen no matter what you do, just DO YOUR BEST AND MOST IMPORTANTLY HAVE FUN! Much love for you all, have a great day!

Hey Jo, just hopping in with some a simplification for calculating war weight: multiplying by five and then dividing by 1000 is EXACTLY the same as simply dividing by 200...you don't need a 'formula', just divide by 200 👌👌👌

I'm in a clan which constantly wars but no one complains if my heroes are upgrading and not used in my attacks. I just pick slightly weaker targets and three star them anyway. Seems like the best option. I don't get why clans would demand heroes to be used in clan war. Unless every participant is a maxed TH13 then this policy is likely to be hurting the progress of clan members which will then hurt the performance in clan war league. CWL is much more rewarding than regular clan wars, so that's just a stupid policy.

My main account is a th13 with th11-12 defences but some maxed offence. Semi rushed from th12 to13 to donate to my nearly maxed th9 and it has worked out great just working on getting 30-30 heroes and jo’s advice has been very helpful. It has helped me obtain the sixth builder. It just makes everything so much faster everyone should grind the builder base for max otto 🤙

Great vid dude, hopefully it'll help clear up lots of the myths & uninformed opinions about war weight. I can confirm that the size of the wars your base is in, does affect your weight. I switch between a few clans with some of my lower accounts & therefore enter different size wars, their weight changes as I switch. These bases are maxed for their th lvl, so weight should be consistent, if size of a war didn't have an effect on weight. It's not consistent however. p.s. More grandpa Jo please 😂

This is going to sound weird but would you want to partner up and build a clan with me? I’ve been asking a bunch of people trying to find someone to do it.

Nice video ❤️ I disagree that engineering is no longer relevant in 2021. 7 out of my 9 accounts are engineered, though only one of them is a pre-update engineer (th11 with barely any defenses but maxed offenses and heroes). The 6 other (after update) engineers in general have level 1 or close to level 1 defenses, but have maxed offenses. In regular clan wars, the result of this is that my max offense th13s faces low to mid level th12s as their mirror. The downside is my engineer bases gets auto-3 starred by the enemy, but the upside is I get 2 high level th13 attacks, which I can use to clear both th13s or cleanup th12s (easily). So in this example the enemy gets a free 3 star on a th13, but that same th13 only counts as a midweight th12. In the end this means our clan has a huge advantage because we have several more attacks to wipe out their th13s, meaning our th14 don’t need to clean down, but can focus entirely on wiping out the th14s with all their attacks. Often our th13s will have attacks free to clean th12s as well, meaning that some of our th12s end up cleaning th11s, so our th11s can clean th10s and so on. So in short - there is still a huge advantage in engineering war-weight wise. You end out winning more wars, because you have more high level attacks than the opposing clan. In CWL it is disadvantage though, because your mirror is not equal to your war weight, since matchup in CWL is determined by league and not weight. So your th12 engineer, will easily be 3 starred by a th10, while you may have to fight in order to get a successful 3 star against the enemy. So in CWL it is clearly a disadvantage to have an engineered base. In regular wars just make sure you don’t have too many engineered th14s or th13s, because you need to be sure that your enemy doesn’t 3 star the bases at the top of the war map. So in general I recommend never including more than 50% (and preferably less) engineers, and always make sure your top bases are not engineered, because they need to be able to ward off 3 stars. This last note is especially important if your in a clan where the highest level is, lets say townhall 10 - then never include a th11 engineer, because your enemy will then have a higher likeliness of having a th11 on their side, and then they will simply destroy you automaticly, while you perhaps may fail on their th11. Hope this long text made sense. Essentially the message is: there is still a huge advantage in engineering . And again thank you for the video - sometimes I find it hard to convince new members that there is such a thing as war weight 😅, so it is nice that you made this video, so I can share it with my clan mates ❤️

I agree with this however it's somewhat sad if you're having to strategically rush your bases (i.e what you're doing and what I'm doing on one of my accounts (wanna unlock siege machines)) in order to win wars. Just saying 🤷‍♀️. Like some people can't stand the thought of having to attack players of their TH level in war or the want easier matchmaking/want to game the matchmaking system so they engineer/strategically rush their bases rather than being legit (i.e no strategically rushed bases in war in order to get easier matchmaking). People shouldn't have to rush their bases to win more wars 😔.

In my clan we care a lot about war weight I’ve been at th11 for like 2 months working only on walls, hero’s and my offense with some traps here and their

My clanmate is several months in TH11 almost max on tower(except he doesnt have eagle artillery) while me, months from th11 and barely upgrade towers focus on offense and hero, but the thing is i have eagle artillery and im higher spot(ex: im 5 while him is 7) than my clan mate that doesnt eagle. Mind blowing just bcoz i build an eagle artillery

I still have my engineer'd th11. Still below th9's at war.

Is a max th11 with a th10 layout in clan wars (missing all TH11 added buildings ie Eagle Artillery, Grand Warden etc) an engineered base? if so, does it not work anymore when it comes to matchups and war weight?

Ye I was wondering this cuz I get so much sh*t from my clan if I don't 3 star my opposite even though im at the start of my th atm.

It will take around 10 monts to maxed out your defense and additional 3 month for lab 👍🤗

I have my clan doing about 20 to 25 players per war and I almost have a full clan plus where almost lvl 10!

The main reason I mind my war weight is because I don’t want to have my weight higher than my clan mates and face harder opponents, my clan mates have lvl 1 eagles and inferno’s but maxed th12 offense and roll the weakest th12 bases that they get faced with in war.

in my clan im a brand new th10 and im usually 12-13 in war. in war my mirror is basically always th11 or even 12's and rarely th10/9s. this is the case for my whole clan. would it be my clan level (18) or just supercell's flaw?

I keep getting matched up against clans with double the th 10s of me our highest townhall is 10 they have 8 and 4 of them are new th 11 we have 4 th 10 with 2 new th 10s.

Why would you not suggest building the workshop before other buildings? Because you have it on your main account? Some clans find it hard to get the siege machines hence asking.
