I thought you might also run a custom steering dampener + stegz pegz ? I'm no finke expert at all, just a motocross KZreadr.. but very curious about the setup especially what was exactly done to the suspension? Harder springs, more compression dampening etc?

We reached out to Tready for you and this is what he had to say! "I’ve gone with a complete above bar MSC steering dampener setup & have chosen to run HD setback Steg Pegz with a 70mm desert extension puck. Suspension wise I’ve re-sprung front & rear just to suit myself aswell as running a Ktech bladder on the shock. Finke setup is definitely a specific setup for that knarly track! 😅" Hope this helps mate!

Matthew chose the EXC as it has PDS suspension on the rear instead of a linkage setup which is more stable at high speeds, straight line stability at high speeds is super important for racing Finke!

For a lot of people (myslef included) the standard steg peg brackets just don't hold up. A good chunk of people run the pucks in custom spots and have heavy duty stainless pegs custom made

Unfortunately we hadn't received the Steg Pegz in time for the bike build! They definitely are a helpful aid for bike control and reducing rider fatigue when racing Finke, Tready is getting a custom set made to suit his preferences, like @ElMacTV said with the high demands of Finke you often need a little more than that single puck and standard setup!
