Thank god that during it's existence the NBA let go of its unwilligness to allow foreign players to enter the NBA. Don't get me wrong, there are players that are busts but otherwise we wouldn't have seen Tony Parker, Ginobili, the Gasol brothers, Nowitzki, SGA, Jamal Murray, Nash Luka and Jokic which would've been a shame (I didn't see Olajuwon nor Mutombo but I'm pretty sure it's ok to include them in the list.)

No travel. Europeans never travel cause in Europe EVERY travel is called. So players develop strong fundamentals from a very young age.

This should be Luka's year, honestly. Joker is the best player in the world but he's already got 2 and he's not doing anything we haven't seen from him before. Luka has been the most spectacular player in the league this year, and he's got his team into a strong position (which was the only knock on him all year long) to close out the year.

“but he’s already got 2”, see this is whats wrong with award voting now, every award turns into a pity win, the same logic got Embiid his first even when Jokic was clearly MVP last season. Fans are too quick to dismiss greatness which is why MJ only has 5 when he should probably have 8 and Bron only has 4 when he should probably have 6. The best player in the world is MVP, point blank period, no other narrative should affect the winner. Jokic is the best, most impactful player in the world, he is the MVP until Doncic becomes genuinely better than him.

I don't think he deserves MVP this year because his numbers are down from last year. When you think of whose the most valuable player in the NBA, I think the best player on the best team should win it and so far this year it's been Tatum or SGA most consistently. Plus, Joker doesn't have that much impact on the defensive end. Also, he doesn't have the night-in and night-out competition that Luka, Tatum or SGA have to face. Kareem has the most MVP's with 6 and then it's Jordan and LeBron. Joker on offense is just as good as those 3 have ever been but defensively he's a below par by far. SGA and Tatum are 2-way players, Joker is not! 💯

No, his stats are the same. Only efficiency is down significantly to levels similar to his MVP years, comparing to last year in which it was outstanding, and that is mostly due to 3pt %.

Luka for MVP

I like Jokic but I really want Luka to win MVP this year. Jokic has more of a chance to win a MVP next year because of his teams standings but this is the closest Luka has gotten.
