Are You Eating Plastic for Dinner? | Short Film Showcase

Ойын-сауық

This novel 3-D animation dives into how our consumption of plastics has affected marine species deaths and increased human health risks, and it explores possible long-term solutions. Motion graphic artist Andreas Tanner uses his compelling infographics to educate viewers on all aspects of plastic production, consumption, and breakdown. “Due to particular currents in the Pacific Ocean, a new continent has been born: a mass of plastic waste the size of Europe.” Tanner also offers ideas for alternative and sustainable buying habits to reduce our reliance on plastic.

Well, perhaps we should use algal oil instead, since it's not really that big of a food source and we could grow it in limited space. It would also help if people considered using reinforced paper as a substitute for plastic. Besides the problem of getting soaked, paper is often a lot stronger, and can be made from pretty cheap food wastes, like peanut shells.

some people say that the world has survived through many things and it can take care of itself but what they don't realize is that we are beginning to out weigh the earths abilities and resources. We are the most amazing creatures on this planet. Maybe the reason we are here now is because the earth got to a point where it realized it needed something like us. Now it needs us to take care of the earth. It is clear that we have invented so many things to improve the environment so why aren't we making it a priority? I know we are just so distracted and fascinated by all the new cool technology and entertainment innovations but life is about balance and you can't take more than you give forever. It's time for us to put our toys down and clean up. Tomorrow we can play again as long as we remember to clean up.

I think they should show a spot like that in the TV. every time you see some nonsens advertising in TV so why cant you show a spot Like that, also because it will only change if the people change and that you can achieve when many people get informate about it and the best way To do that is show it in during primetime in TV!! This should be more important then some coca Cola spots or so. If i had some money i would do that.

More than half of the world's population may not have adequate access to water. The types of fish we eat could become extinct. Millions could be without food. The rain forests could face total annihilation. Superbugs could kill 10 million people each year. Diseases will spread with ease. The number of people living with dementia will likely triple. Hurricanes could become more frequent and more severe. Rising water levels could flood major cities across the globe. Large-scale blackouts could become commonplace. Oil could become prohibitively expensive. Look it up, I am not making this up. We can change it but it will take a lot. I have started recycling and looking at what I but EVERYONE has to.

It is tragic that considering all of the so-called "progress" we have made, most amazing innovations seem to end up being toxic to our environment and ultimate every living thing in that environment. In the early age of what developed into the kind of industrialized society we have, there wasn't the science to determine toxicity. After a number of years we became aware that we were poisoning our environment. You would think that we would want to stop this type of progress and develop non-toxic manufacturing or "just say no" (remember that one. Didn't work on drugs so why would it work now?) We are being poisoned. Our entire planet is being poisoned and we must do something about it. I am guilty of always taking plastic bags instead of paper while leaving my cloth bags at home that I have paid good money for! Go figure! I am aware but I am too thoughtless to do anything about it. I must stop!!! I don't need plastic. The least I could do is recycle the plastic I do use. I ashamed!

. Plastics are simply chains of like molecules linked together. These chains are called polymers. This is why many plastics begin with “poly,” such as polyethylene, polystyrene, and polypropylene. Polymers often are made of carbon and hydrogen and sometimes oxygen, nitrogen, sulfur, chlorine, fluorine, phosphorous, or silicon.

The real problem is people who throw plastic away without thinking and dump it in the ocean, woods, roadsides, just anywhere...

You can make plastic out of leftovers of the wood used in the paper industry.

sorry I was young when I told you to poo it out and im more smort and wiese so here are the words of an adult If your child has swallowed a foreign object, call your doctor for advice, and: Do not try to make the child vomit. Do not panic. Do not assume that surgery is necessary. Most objects pass through the digestive tract without complications. Surgery for removing foreign objects is not common. Do not forcefully remove the object. This can cause further injury. Sometimes, the object must be removed either endoscopically or surgically. This is done under anesthesia
