As a Filipino man, I, too, want to someday enjoy Applebee's.
I kid you not, my son had to write a high school English assignment in which he rated his friends based on their diversity!! As if it’s not enough to be friends with someone because they are kind or fun or you have common interests! He isn’t friends with an Indigenous guy because he had a diversity quota to fill, he’s friends with him because he likes him as a person!!!

This skit has Onion energy. Reality in a hillariously honest depiction.
I love how "Mr. Personality" sits just out of frame completely ignored for most of the conversation, to me that was so on-point. Let's be honest here though, one cannot achieve diversity through other people. One must strive for diversity within oneself. 😆

I love how the more NON-woke group that leaves together at the end is the most genuine, diverse, fun, and tolerant. That's very much like real-life. 😂😂
Lol
People so often do not get what diverse is. If you are a group of girls, and you add in a guy, diversity goes up. Cis het white men can be a part of a diverse group, just as much as trans lesbian asian women can.
For originality, nothing beats this summer's blockbuster Return Of The Remake III, with a cast so diverse they had to film it in monochrome to stop all the complementary colors from canceling each other.... The director received a lot of criticism but she didn't have a leg to stand on, as she'd sawn both off due to a previous lack of amputee representation on the set.
Shockingly accurate. Hard to even parody this anymore honestly.
"you think i date him for his personality?" "you don't? 😢"
lolz
Well ... Julie is definitely "one of the good ones". I fail to see the problem. True story - I'd always assumed I was 100% Scottish (maybe with a smattering of English and Welsh). A couple of years ago, 23andme informed me that I'm 25% Ashkenazi. I've been waving the ethnic card ever since.
@treefrogg
Жыл бұрын
isn’t ashkenazi white though? /gen
@ThirrinDiamond
Жыл бұрын
@@treefrogg white is not an ethnicity/nm i understand your intention and confusion though as i've never heard the term "ethnic card" before but i assume they mean it as opposed to the offensive "race card" that people say to silence poc. It's kind of ironic that this person claims difficulty (being jewish) with none of the consequences solely to idk.... like tf can you do by waving an "ethnic card". Like what is the actual perk of being part of a minority one only uses for personal gain (for internet points??? like seriously what's the perk of antisemitism and cultural gen*cide since the person was unaware of their grandparent being jewish, that just sounds traumatic to me) and does not invest into the community and who being a part of ensures future hardships and being targeted, especially if one does not join the community for solidarity.
@treefrogg
Жыл бұрын
@@ThirrinDiamond yeah that’s kinda one of the reasons i was confused. i’m 100% ashkenazi jewish (and was aware of the fact that i am jewish before taking a dna test, but i have done a dna test which confirmed this). however, i haven’t ever claimed to be a POC. i’m aware of antisemitism around me and i know this history of it, but i have never faced it because i’ve only ever been seen as white by the people around me. then again, i’m still not as educated on this topic as i’d like to be. i do feel as if it’s very complicated though, with many jews saying they aren’t white and many saying they are. (this comment isn’t meant to be rude or harmful in anyway, i just wanted to clarify this because like i said previously i’m not as educated on this subject as i’d like to be, and i’m always happy to learn more! and also thank you kind stranger for your helpful reply 😊)

This sketch just reinforces what we’ve known all along; gingers have no soul.
Why do redheads count as their own ethnic category in america. Like, what is that. Is there some kind of era of redhead oppression in america, that I'm not aware of? When I hear redhead, I categorize this the same way as brunette, blonde, black haired or brown eyed, green eyed, blue eyed or like some people are really tall and some people are really short. Not as a whole ethnic category.
Looks like your average sorority.

Why would anyone think that a drink in a skit is real alcohol? Hahahahaha what??? What if it took like 10 attempts to get right and they were just getting more and more drunk with each take?
