Not many shows could feature constant sexual innuendo and have it be pure gold every time, but AYBS had it down to an exact science. They couldn’t have had a better cast. Comic genius.

Mr. Humphries has quite an array of talents, doesn't he? Director, palm reader, altering wedding dresses and impersonating a Greek bridegroom... Being a chef for a fraudulent shareholder's dinner rather got away from him, but that seemed more the fault of the kitchen equipment (he at least seemed to know how the dishes were supposed to be made). The man deserves a raise.

That was proven when multiple remakes/localized versions tried to make runs. Australia came closest to success by bringing in Inman as Humphries but was short lived as most of their episodes were literal remakes of exact eps of OG, which made no sense. If Humphries lived a situation in England would he notice the literal identical situation down to dialogue and mannerisms? S version thankfully never lasted past a pilot., Beane's of Boston or something.

Nice to see Mr.Lucas actually being nice to Mrs.Slocombe for a change. Nice all around. He's always been a try hard as far as helping with little things...u have to look closely though. Just something I've noticed lately. Also... Hilarious stuff as always... and forever ; )

This series is comfort food, always such fun. This is a nice print; a lot of them on KZread tend to look washed out or faded. One of my favorite episodes, without doubt. The gang tries making the commercial and things go from bad to worse.

Mrs. Slocomb looks like Mae West; her lashes get stuck and unstuck of their own free will! Nice to see Grainger appear, sadly as it is, before he passed away (my grandfather, who was born in 1904 [died in 1995!], looks very much like him!).

i have always laughed my ass off at this show. excellent writing and an excellent cast. the first few seasons were the best. after the departure of Mr. Lucas the whole feel of the show changed. it just was not as funny as before. one of the best sitcoms i have ever watched. every character was played perfectly. it's still so hard to believe it was 40 plus years ago. may they all rest in peace.

Uh... they explain that Grainger died in the episode Tibbs takes over. The actor for Tibbs died after 1 season, and they had an opening scene explaining he retired.
