Today we're taking a look at 1 Timothy 6:1-2. A passage that speaks to the behavior and attitude of a bondservant (slave). It's important to remember that a bondservant in the ancient world was much different than the wicked slavery that took place in America and beyond. A bondservant was more likened to a house servant, farm worker, builder, tradesman, etc. These slaves were able to earn their freedom and many did so.
While the idea of slavery or even bondservants is not culturally relevant for us today, there are still some principles taught that apply to many people in different jobs today. This passage reminds us to rethink our attitude when we're working for a boss we don't like or perhaps in a generally crappy job.
