Are you a fake Christian?

Ойын-сауық

Witchtok? Inclusion at Disney? Morally acceptable polygamy? With so much outright evil in today's world, how can a Christian "contend for the faith"? In this sermon in Jude 3-4, Pastor Mark preaches that we can follow Jesus' example contending for things like entertainment, technology, media, and business as He stood for truth against atheists, occultists, agnostics, world religions, and apostates.

I am an ExMormon who became a Christian. This sermon opened my eyes to what the christians around me were saying. Pastor Mark Driscoll finally anwsered and explained a question i had. In Mormonism we are taught that God was man. That's why i wasn't getting the Trinity. I had to get rid of that idea and to accept that Jesus Christ is God in the flesh. ❤ I learned also that we are not saved by works or any traditions, but only through Jesus Christ. 🫶 That we served one another not for our salvation, but because we love God and want to be more christ like. Thank you Pastor Mark Driscoll. 🤗

@@tional5266 do not give in. Jesus Christ love is unconditional. We can not work or buy our way into heaven. Only through Jesus Christ will we be saved. Keep preaching the Truth Pastor Mark! Please pray for my 20 year old daughter Brooke who is now estranged from her family and from God. She was homeschooled in a Christian home and was baptized as a believer but now, after starting college, calls herself by a different name and identifies as same sex attracted and non binary. Our family is devastated but we know that God is not done until it's good and He is inventor of the redemption story.

God brings Righteousness (may have short term suffering followed by long term pleasure- on earth and in Heaven). If you love yourself repent of your sins (lying, hatred, unforgiveness, sexual sins, taking the Lord’s Name in vain, stealing, dishonouring your parents etc) & believe in Jesus for forgiveness of sins. Totally awesome message. It really hit home. In the ‘89 Batman movie Joker asks "Have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?” Well I have. I used to do Wicca. It started small with tarot cards and then went to boards and spell work. From there to Buddhist. All demonic because I believed the lie that all I had to do was to believe in Jesus to be saved. Like in the movie Nefarious, * no spoilers* Nefarious states how they corrupt the innocent with small traps that act like innocent games and no one notices the small subtle changes. Praise Abba almighty that I have been freed from that demonic bondage and now a follower of the one true king Jesus. So Thank you Pastor Mark for telling the truth and preaching on things like this that others wouldn’t even dare to. This is why I am appreciative and thankful to call Trinity my home church. Hard Truths with life and death consequences.

I find your teaching refreshing. I've been a follower of Christ since my childhood and raised my three boys to love Jesus. As I've grown in my faith and have read my Bible, people on my family have been disturbed. My eldest son, who claims he is a Christian, has a terrible problem with cursing. My husband and I set a standard for our house, and asked him to curb his cursing while in our home. He ended his relationship with us and we haven't seen our grand babies for 9 months. I'm heartbroken! Also two cousins, one of which has been my dearest friend all my life (I'm 55) have told me not to talk about the Bible or Jesus anymore. I have been so shocked because my Aunts who are their moms were strong believers and raised them in Church. I've been praying for these family members for months.

A tree is known by its fruit likewise a real Christian produces good fruit. Suppose you have a apple tree and a peach tree both growing, how do I know which is which? The tree that produces peaches is the peach tree and the one that produces apples is the apple tree, likewise a so called Christian who is worldly/sinful is not a real Christian. Matthew 3:10 And even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees. Therefore every tree which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire

Pastor Driscoll I should have heard messages like yours. I got a lot of things wrong. Some were called sins which weren't, and some things were called not sins sins. I did not have parents who abandoned me. I no concept of mother and father. Found out though that God did not abandon me. Found Christ through a Christian church just build. Found that Jesus was the only one that ever loved me. He is God in the flesh and I had prayed for God to reveal himself. himself to me which he did.😊😊

I started listening to Mark Driscoll recently and am loving his ministry. I am 61, in the UK, and in a traditional AOG church in South London. Anglican background. My wife is a late 60's Ghanaian , had never heard of Mark Driscoll, and she is loving this preaching as well, and we have both been amen to everything. Just shows how important it is to check things out for yourself, I wouldn't have expected to find so much in common, and if I had paid attention to the totally undiscerning critics, I wouldn't be here. Trinity church is blessed but this is a ministry for the whole body of Christ to learn from, be inspired by, and challenged by, and enjoy. A lot of the preachers and teachers I have learnt most from are dead, and we need a new generation, communicating to younger people without compromise. Keep up the great work, and many thanks, Matthew

The issue at hand is sin and God’s nature of being just. Sin brings suffering (the pleasure is short term, and the suffering is long term-on earth and in hell forever). (Jesus died on the Cross as a sacrifice and defeated death by rising from the dead)

Hey I’m watching this right now because I’m feeling like a fake Christian because I’m having a very hard time being devoted to my church, and attending all church fellowships, & church functions, & even church itself. The number one reason is because I’m physically & emotionally tired between my job & taking care of my 81 yr old mother & all her needs & then of course my own responsibilities and I have a son & a new grandson. I struggle with balancing all of this but still remaining faithful & obedient to God. How can I be a true Christian if I barely have time to read the Bible and I feel mentally & physically exhausted all the time? For example, I dint go to church today because I’m feeling physically & mentally drained 😪

I grew up in the Pentecostal religion. You know okmulgee Oklahoma. I knew one of the founding members of the crosstown Pentecostal Church. My grandmother very devout Pentecostal. I never understood anything about what they were talking about. Never felt anything in their churches. Nothing but there was a whole lot of asking for money telling people they had to be poor, broke and destitute. There was also a lot of other things that went on that was not really good. Never felt any kind of friendship from anybody in the church I did have one minister that I remember he was at the crosstown Pentecostal Church in okmulgee that if I remember correctly this has been 35 years ago. Maybe a little longer, but if I remember correctly he had some of his people out in the hallway to keep people from leaving and he was a visiting minister and sermons went on for hours. We didn't have an hour-long sermon. We would go till 3:00 and then they'd start having alter calls and then they wanted you back at 6:00. It was an all-day event. People would be getting up to go to the bathroom getting a drink of water and this guy stood up there. Got very loud telling people to sit down and quit going to the bathroom than what he was telling them was more important than going to the bathroom. He was trying to save their life. What he was talking about was how you couldn't get to heaven if you had money and that you needed to get rid of your money to go to heaven and this was based on one scripture where Jesus said it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to get into heaven and he was using that to the max of how you had to give up your money to get to heaven. Won't even what Jesus was talking about completely taken out of context and meaning but that's what he was teaching on to save our life. My grandmother never went back to that church again after that. Neither did I. I went to Baptist churches too and I found a lot of those to not be very far from the Pentecostal and I didn't feel anything at any of those churches I went to. I went to one as a child and I watched them tell a guy that he needed to have a mole removed off his ear because it looked too much like an earring and my mom got chewed out for my brother being in a suit. That was a Paris shorts and regular suit and we're talking about a child that is like 8 years old but he needed to be properly dressed and what he was wearing was literally a suit but the pants were short. So we're talking to the middle of summer and an eight-year-old kid. We were not to come back unless we were properly dressed. We never went back but we'd already been there or I had several years I've heard others that have better experience with Baptist churches, but mine are pretty close to being just about the same as Pentecostal. In fact, my grandmother said Baptist churches were okay. You could go to them that's been my experience and I didn't feel anything at any of the churches I ever went to. I had to find it outside of the church find what I was looking for and it took me a very long time to do it. Quite honestly, I wish your church was where I live or I lived where your church was at one of the two

I knew a woman who became part of the Jehovah witness religion. She had been going to the church trying to find something. She was a single mother. Had several kids. I don't remember how many now I know that one was imprisoned for murder and was going to spend the rest of his life there and he knew it and he also knew what he had done wrong. He had told his mother he deserved what he was getting. She was living on government assistance in a government assisted housing rent control. She had gone to a school to become a medical transcriptionist and at the time this was going to be something very good for her. She went for about a month and went to the school for about a month and one of the elder ladies at the church showed up at her house and had a talk with her about her school and how wrong it was that she was going to that school and her whole basis on her wrong school. Was she smiles bigger on Monday going to school then she does when she goes to church. She needs to quit her school and focus on the church. Any religion who does this? I don't want to be a part of neither does anybody else when they really think about it. Another thing they did this church was having a lunch out someplace and this lunch was $50 a plate per person and this was going to cost her I believe. $200 because it was her and three kids. At this point she couldn't afford it so she was extremely sad that she was being excluded from this get together. So instead of the people getting together and saying you know what we'll pay for it. They came together and said you can come. You just can't eat with us. You and your family will have to sit at a different table and you'll have to bring your own food. She was excited about it because she was partially included. They put her down all the time because of various different things. Told her how bad she was as a person and that she needed to focus more on the church and that if she couldn't do all of this stuff then they were going to shun her from the church. They also told her that their teaching's was exactly the same. No matter where they went, it was the same teaching everywhere. They synchronized their teachings. I don't know how true that is but I found that rather interesting. They finally talked her into being baptized in the church and she went way off in that direction and I couldn't follow her. She was a friend. She helped me get through a difficult time and I missed talking to her but my thought was this was not a religion I wanted to be a part of. It wasn't a month later I started having Jehovah witness people showing up at my door trying to get me to come to their church and when I started telling him things I found out about another church. Oh that doesn't happen at our church. That one might be going that direction but we don't. I wouldn't go. They found out what my name was and found somebody who had my saying last name and thought maybe I would be more apt to go to that church and I refused when they found out that the person with my name wouldn't entice me. I never saw him again I never understood why but I always felt like that was a wrong religion just like the Mormons always felt that was a wrong religion and never knew why until recently

One point of correction. You misrepresented Oneness Pentecostal beliefs. Firstly, you mentioned Arianism. Oneness Pentecostals are not Arians. Secondly, you said Oneness teaches that Jesus is ultimately not the God we worship. Very wrong. Oneness people believe Jesus is Yahweh himself. They believe Jesus is the Father himself in flesh. The UPCI is largely Simultaneous Modalists. They believe the unipersonal God has revealed or manifested himself as Father, Son and Spirit at the same time. But there are some in the movement that are closer to Dynamic Monarchians.

It's not up to a Christian to solve the world's problems. Only God can do that, and He's going to do it on His schedule. Christ prophesied that the days preceding His return will be just like the days of Noah. Christians should be focusing on is qualifying to rule with Christ by doing His Work and obeying the Father's laws. This world is going to borderline destroy itself before it finally learns the consequences of relying on human reasoning.
