I've had a huge struggle with social media. Lately I've realized how I need to alter my social media in order to cut out negative influences and triggers. This includes getting rid of my Facebook account. I feel like it is an "avatar world," sometimes. I also have been really, really clumsy with my comments in social media. Good point about choosing words carefully. It's not a social interaction, it's more like posting a sticky note. Have to remember manners! Lol ❤😂

My first witchcraft channel I follow was Mandi See from England. She's not really on here much anymore though then there's you that I enjoy as well as Kevin and his Lunar witch channel. I liked his because you don't see many guys having witchcraft channels

My rule of thumb with imposter accounts is: if it's a creator I follow, why would this new account following me have the "follow back" option? That's saved me a bunch of nonsense

Yessssss exactly regarding what actually u can show on platforms like IG - I was filming a vlog a few weeks ago and speaking about how so much of a legitimate practice just doesn't translate at all to video or image creation; all kinds of energy work and astral work for example. And that's such a good point about not wanting to waste supplies in staged demonstration spells in content - I do feel the same about that. I also will only show a snippet of footage of me doing something in a vlog (usually it's only crafting oils or incenses etc. or kitchen witchery but I won't include invocations or all the intentions etc. and I usually film a snippet after I've finished it as well - any pics are from very old spells that are done and dusted, altar pics are from previous months before reshuffles, and most stuff isn't filmed at all because my practice is my whole life and mundane world and so much bigger than just a KZread channel or IG account - I think perhaps some ppl imagine content creators are just 2d but we are all complex, emotional, nuanced human beings with many interests and facets of our lives and personalities. My magick and witchcraft is in me, and it's embodied in everything I do and how I move through the world. I really enjoyed hearing your thoughts Bente. Thanks 🙏 for participating in the tag! ✨watching as I commented so adding the edit - I feel my memory is shocking too 😂 my husband was telling me about a date we went on when we met 16 years ago and we went on a merrygoround - I have no memory of that 😜 to be fair think I've lost lots of memory since my kids were born. So appreciate your honesty. Congratulations on your guest lecture with Order of Chaos as well. Very much deserved. ❤

I love how your cat just fell asleep on your seat with both paws hanging out ✨ Other than that, thank you for this video! It's always interesting to have your pov and experiences brought up with these kind of questions! I don't know if I would have been into witchcraft if it wasn't for some social media, other than a few "weird superstitions or traditions" that were taught by my family. This said I don't know if I feel very involved with a lot of social medias, since I mostly limit myself to youtube, but who knows! The whole imposter syndome bit is also a mood

I love that you give the New Age movement credit where it is due. Anything New Age gets sh*t on so much in the pagan/witch community and imo it’s not entirely fair. There are definitely valid criticisms about it (like consumerism, putting aesthetics before real spirituality, and cultural appropriation), but you really hit the nail on the head when you said that the New Age movement has made alternative spirituality and witchcraft more socially acceptable in many parts of the world. And that is huge!!!! In the past you could easily get fired from your job just for wearing a pentacle even in the US but now we have actual rights protecting us. And like it or not I think New Age spirituality did indeed make this community more palatable for society, giving us more respect overall. That’s not even to mention the fact that people who hate on New Age often have an anti-woman slant to the issue.

This is so true. I never understood why witches and new age communities have such animosity towards each other. I have been a part of both communities since a young age. Although what is considered “new age” or “witchcraft” can vary depending on the person defining it.

Though i have had my own established practice for many years, I love learning how other people practice around the world. I think most of us have more similarities than differences at our core. I admire the bravery of you and other content creators because it's such a very personal thing to share. 😊

As someone with ADHD, I can relate to the memory thing and feeling like an impostor. I had someone ask me the meaning of the moon card in tarot and I completely blanked. I don’t really practice tarot but I felt like that was one I should’ve known! lol

I’m technically a baby witch (I got into it a few years ago but it was half assed) and I’ve started working with Lilith. I wanted to make my alter feel like her space and of course I immediately went to Etsy and nearly bought 3 candles for $40. But I realized i should anoint my own candles because I’m putting my energy into them in a physical way. Etsy will be the death of me lol

I watch a fair amount of Witch craft content I don't practice at least in the same ways of probably anyone else , by watching content it gives me ideas of how I can possibly practice and also i have to shamefully admit most of the witches doing content online are very easy on my eyes and I do my best to not let that blind me to see legit non-legit practices, I myself mostly just have a make shift alter to my ancestors, in which I would like to meet and receive help or just communicate with , also what I call spirit friends, I call them this because there are so many different names for spirits Gods Demons that are helpful and too me it is much simpler for me to call them all Spirit friends, I explain well actually I ask this every time I am calling upon them and also say that if they don't like me doing this to let me know, so far over the last 4-5 yrs I have had no signs or sensed anything telling me that they do not like this and for me to stop, I am greatly thankful for this. I always enjoy the content on here most times I watch and listen while doing my Chi Gong in the morning sometimes even playing in the background as I meditate which when people or at least myself when meditating I soak in all things but also nothing , I seem to remember what was said even though I was in meditation on the silence, I am sure that people that meditate know what I am a speaking of ;) that said I dont do the silent meditation every day I mostly am walking or doing something while mediating the silent meditation for me moving the energies around inside and outside myself around around me through me which is why I am silent and sitting of course sometimes I just cant do this and thats ok I still watch and or listen to the video

This should not be a lecture, but a conversation. This is one major problem of the internet communication. You sit there and listen to somebody talk and you've adapted the habit of thinking you have only two options - agree or disagree. Which is far from the truth. I feel like this tag is becoming a self-explaining of "why my content looks the way it looks and still is valid", which is something no creator should feel obliged to explain to anyone... or themselves.
