    You guys may be too young to remember Mac O'Grady, who won a couple of PGA events in the 80s, and played to scratch left-handed. He tried to get his amateur status back for left-handed play, and also tried to enter a PGA best-ball tournament as a single (one ball right, one ball left). Love the podcasts, Happy New Year!

    MASSIVE cart path bounce... squirrel grabbed the ball and somehow dropped it on a massive hill next to the green... walked upto the green after not knowing where my ball has been all hole... only to find it sat in the hole. Hole in one to kick the year off. Superb.

    I think the thing about the low score courses is that if you have one bad hole, you're out of it (Bhatia at the 1st on Sunday). The higher scoring courses mean that it keeps more scores alive throughout the tournament.

    I am a longtime follower of Rick Shiels, and I do love his stuff, but I think this podcast is much better than his. The banter and the conversation are just fantastic. Also, the Rick Shiels Podcast has always felt a little bit like an ad for the rest of his content, and they even admitted to that when they read one of my comments, years ago. I suppose it’s fair enough, but I enjoy Peter and the gang’s a lot better. Anyway, keep up the good work!

    I lived though the Baggie pant era , back then the fabrics where not as stretchy as they can be now. I personally don’t like pants that look like pajamas or scrubs or sweat pants , they catch on stuff and just don’t work well for outdoor activities . The jogger look is equally annoying…. Just where Lycra dudes. A nice in between stretchy pant that is comfortable is perfect.

    There are golfers at every club, who care more about how fast they take to play 18 holes, than how well they scored. In their opinion, every round should take less than 2hrs 30mins. As Peter pointed out, they tend to be the same age demographic as mentioned in the tale. Happy New year team.

  • @hadesignite

    @hadesignite

    it has to be balance, surely. Some tournaments when your stood on each tee for 10-15mins the lactic acid builds in the legs and the swing gets laboured...impossible to put a score together like that.

  • @newsbluestv3163

    @newsbluestv3163

    6 ай бұрын

    @@hadesignite I agree, there are negative consequences for waiting on tee's or the fairway, and there has to be some balance. The truth is we do have golfers at every club, who think that emulating the top tour pro's, taking up-teen practice swings, then duffing it into the long grass 50 yds from the tee, add to that, they then spend way above 3 minutes looking for the ball, all without playing a provisional from the tee, then walk back to re-hit. These are the groups that slow the game down for everyone behind them, and will not let groups through. The selfish types, who need to be told each week about their slow play. Better still, rather than members arguing with each other, after yet another 5hr plus round. The committee, should after 2 warnings, given golfers a one-week suspension, maybe then, they would clean up their act, be more thoughtful of other golfers who don't waste time, and are thoughtful about their pace of play.

    Love Pete but he clearly has a thing for Taylormade and against Callaway, going with the steath over the paradigm show it especially after breaking the face twice, and that in his picking the driver video he hit the stealth a couple yards longer but the miss hit were so much worse then the paradigm. Yes it is a personal choice and that is what it is up to but....

  • @drtrimbo

    Professional Golf is the opposite of darts, and that is it's main issue. Golf is a sport I love to play, and the number of people who play it seems to be growing, but they're playing it, not watching it. I don't watch golf, except for the Masters and the Ryder Cup so the PGA Tour gets very little from me as a fan of the sport. But with darts, I will almost never play it, but would always be up for watching it. So professional darts gets more from me as a fan, than golf, even though I play lots of golf and no darts. Somehow the PGA needs to convert people who play golf into golf viewers. I have no idea how they do that, but whoever works that out would be pretty handy for PGA Tour prize pools
