Join us as we move on from the mountains to the lakes as part of our early retirement adventure in our VW Campervan. We discover and spend the night at possibly the most beautiful and deserted mountain lake in the French Alps and then head off to one of the most popular lakeside holiday locations the region has to offer. More hiking, cycling, wild swimming and exploring the places off the beaten track.
We are Richard and Jackie and we live in the UK. We have chosen to early retire from teaching during the summer of 2022 at the age of 51. We are currently on a 3 week trip to the Alps, with no plans just our desire to find the hidden wild places.
You will soon realise that we are complete KZread beginners with all the challenges of creating and publishing videos ahead of us, not to mention uploading when on the road.

One of our favourite areas. We stayed for a night in January on our way skiing, just as beautiful with the snow capped mountains 🏔️
Just came across your channel 😊 We have just entered into full time van life and are just finishing work off and about to hit travelling properly on 6th December! Very nice vlog, and will watch more to see how your house sale goes….it was probably the worse part for us, and hugely thankful that is now firmly behind us 😍

How many of these lovely camp sites allow tent camping please? Some of the stop overs look stunning 😎

Lac de Rosiere is an aire so no camping as far as I know but all the campsites allow tents and we find most of them through either the ACSI app or google maps. Camping Pelly definitely had tents at the cirque de chevel
