Are These The Best Settings For SESSION??

Ойындар

After a year of the same gameplay settings, i've decided to change one of them that I had completely overlooked. Could these be the best hardcore settings for Session?

In the video i said that it doesn't matter if you have Continuous Flip or Scoop ON or off if you are on Manual catch.. well it turns out that if you have them OFF while using No Release, your kickflips and heelflips will auto catch. If you have them ON, they will keep spinning if you hold the direction even with Manual catch on. Also also if you're playing at 30 FPS it will always auto catch even if Continuous Flip is ON.. the more you know :)

There is no Scoop Speed called Pressure. If you mean Rotation, I’m already on pressure ;)

@Evvverywhere maybe you mean the setting Speed for Flip cause that is also what i use. the alternative is Directional and the flip speed depends on if you flick diagonally to straight to the side.

Thank you! I had no idea why my game was acting different, because I had it on full release, no release is so much better.

I have pretty much the same settings as you except I have auto catch on. I had the grind setting on already as well. Just made more sense to me.

I dunno what it is but I’ve tried manual catch and I think I’m just gonna wait until the huge update because it doesn’t feel as smooth as auto atm... hoping that will get polished before I commit to it

It's also worth noting, and maybe the devs didn't intend this, but if you do a kickflip and dont let go of the back foot stick it will auto catch. Same with the front foot. For ex. Let's say you wanted to do a kickflip back noseslide. If you do the kickflip as you normally would, but didn't let go of the front foot stick it will automatically catch the board at 90 degrees(assuming you flicked straight off to the side) and land perfectly in the nose slide. It does feel more natural in certain instances, but it almost makes things too easy. That's why I went to full release a long time ago. Now, how much of that is intended by the devs idk.

The same applies to a lot of other tricks. Heel flips, shuvs, varials, inward heels. The only tricks I think you actually have to put the catch input in for are ones that rotate 360.

Yeah I knew there was an issue with kickflips, It’s funny cause for me, it doesn’t auto catch Kickflip or heelflip, but it will auto catch every other trick as long as I’m holding the stick. For me, Kickflip would continuously spin until it connects with the ledge/ rail. Try to Kickflip back tail down the 13set handrail with my exact settings and you’ll see what I mean. I understand why it would auto catch since it’s tough to get the catch input while holding a direction, but I do hope it gets some work. I plan to just use this setting for basic grinds with no flips in and for the times I want to flip into something I’ll do it the way I’ve always done it

I'm also on xbox so some things may work different. But I spent a while using this setting and can 100 percent confirm what I'm saying. Maybe it has something to do with the lower frame rate. Idk honestly that's not my area of expertise lol

Just tested it at 30Fps, you’re right, even with continuous flip and scoop ON it still auto catches. Interesting

My only problem with no release is that it tends to auto catch my tricks for me unless I'm missing something(kinda felt like I was cheating). It definitely gives you more control though. Ima give it another try👍 great video man keepm comin!!!

It sort of has to auto catch when in use cause otherwise your board will never be caught. I was messing around with Kickflip back tails and one thing I found was if it’s onto a bench, the flip will stop when the tail connects. However if you try it on something like a handrail, the board will flip way passed a single flip and keeps spinning until it hits something. So the best way to use No Release would be use it for grinds without flipping into them, and when you do need to flip in just treat it as if you had Full Release on.

Playing on the hardest settings for many months now and i was always unsure about the exact same grind option, because in RL it is one fluid movement. Problem is, im so used to everything, it's kinda hard to get used to the slightest change - my old brain says nooooo, u r used to that, keep it that way 😅 Maybe after the next update, since they will change the physics anyway, it could be a good starting point. Cheers

you're still able to play as if you have Full release on. having No release turned on just allows you to flow into grinds / slides a bit better when needed. i plan to use it for basic grinds / slides but when i wanna get tech ill play as if i have FR on :P

@@JLNightmare yeah i know and i did try it, but what i meant was my brain is trained in to let go the sticks and turn them in direction xy again :D that's my tick in games... once my brain is used to something, it's hard for me to change that. For example in every shooter i use the same keybinds, while other ppl always just play the way the binds are set on default oO And ur idea about using NR like FR is interessting :D

Well you can do what I do and still treat it as if you have Full release on so you can still get rotations into grinds and slides. You don’t always have to hold the stick, you can release to. No release is like having an extra option to getting into to tricks. I like using it for adding style to hardflip, getting into basic grinds like just noseslide, 5-0, smiths.. etc without flips but as soon as there’s a flip involved I act like I’m on full release and do it that way

  • @bskbskbskbskbsk
    @bskbskbskbskbsk3 жыл бұрын

Such a bummer that No Release reintroduces the weird auto-catch bug shenanigans for Treflips in goofy stance. They rarely do work when your input is just right, but it's a drag. Turning Continuous on (both) doesn't change this unfortunately. No Release is so awesome, I'm too much addicted to the added control that I'm willing to give up Tres for the sake of developing style atm. But I guess things might change even more when the new physics get introduced, so who knows... There's probably no use in holding on to anything at this point.

  • @JLNightmare

The best way to use No Release is to not hold the sticks after flicking for every trick. So for flat ground tricks just release the sticks quick and you’ll get the tricks without any issues. I pretty much only use no release functions for getting into basic grinds and slides without flips into them, but when I want to flip into a grind I just release the stick and reinput the direction I want as if I was on full release. So for Kickflip back tail I still do them by flicking, letting go of the flick, pressing the trigger to turn then locking into the back tail. If I want to do just the back tail I’ll pop and keep holding back foot down while I scoop the stick and lock into the tailslide. So if you play with a mix style everything works great

@@JLNightmare Nice tips, thanks. This makes for a useful and quite technical play style. I like to do these weird back foot side ollies and then turn back before landing. Or little suskies on the last bit of a ledge or rail with just the back foot instead of having to use the triggers to turn. So the no release is a gift. But we'll see how the functions develop over time.
