The high-pitched and medium-pitched bells where my two favorites. The medium one reminded me of the classic tune from Eddie Palmieri Vamonos pal monte.
Excellent Eric Excellent! By the way, I have been celebrating June 2021 as the 1st NATIONAL COWBELL APPRECIATION MONTH! More Cowbell Bro!
I just got a Uli percussion bell. Love it so far!
I was looking for a bongo bell and then you posted. If you were to ask me, that’s some perfect timing.
Thanks Erik for the demo on the bells...really helped....god bless
I'm looking for a mambo bell. That high pitch bell is awesome!
I'm not particularly knowledgable about cowbells but have acquired 3 very different ones, the latest an indian bell made from brass with an oval shaped mouth, low F sharp and an old Hohner in D, (not so keen on the other). Out of the ELH bells you played I liked the low one the most but did notice quite a lot of overtones with them. I appreciate your explanation of uses and settings and enjoyed listening to your playing of them. I generally just play the cowbells at home and have fitted some bike inner-tube towards the end of the beater for a mellower bass tone, leaving the very end as wood for the higher tones. I also liked some of the unexpected kind of enigmatic tones that projected at times in your demo, if you know what I mean.
Súper Pendiente y a la espera. Un fuerte abrazo hermano mío desde Maturín Monagas Vzla.
You have to check out Ulipercussion bells, handmade by my Friend Ulisis Santiago.
3:30: I used to sell JCR bells 35 years (is it that long?) ago. Cali and his crew just couldn’t make them fast enough! Had I known then they’d sell for $500+ now,I’d have bought a few more for myself. So I’m curious to hear these ELH bells.

15:35: they just might be a worthy successor to the JCR legacy. You sound great playing them.
Check out ULI percussion he also does bells he is from Wisconsin
I am pretty picky with bells as well. They look nicely made. Of the 3, I liked the high pitch the most. The overtones on all of them kill it for me; just some more tweaks needed.
Have you tried the Osiris Bells, it’s a must.
The overtones are what really helps the bell cut through the band
Not convinced yet. Cali was able to make a high pitch bell without that big mouth opening. I've seen that big mouth opening on those bells from Columbia too. Today every percussionist wants to tune up everything high.
I personally like the thicker beater.

!!!!THE BEST BELLS ARE STILL FROM THE BRONX NEW YORK , NOTHING HAS CHANGED YET AND THE TOP ONE IS MADE BY "OSIRIS COW BELLS"!!!!

I have several bells from the Bronx made made the man you are alluding to. To be honest I loved the guy he was so much fun to talk to but for every bell he made that sounded amazing there were 10 mediocre to really bad sounding bells.
