I've enjoyed finally having people in a lobby. So I prefer the rotating lobbies. I remember days of sitting in a lobby and finally starting a race when 3-4 people showed up

My thoughts exactly during this video. Other players were very well behaved (subject to said cherry picking perhaps). Didn't really see a significant difference between this and the filming crew. Accidents happen regardless. Is there some sort of skill-based matchmaking in this, based on the qualifiers? That might explain it. You'll obviously have more trouble with less skilled drivers.

It infuriates me that many of the strongest cars in the spec series are paywalled, however it doesn't surprise me in the slightest.

@@8bitAkuma sorta cause of the car pass but for the most part it’s not needed. You can still beat the best cars with a good tune and skill, this sounds more like someone who’s not very good at the game and finds excuses for being slow….

Edit: sorry I thought you were talking to me but you were asking the original post for an example lol yeah idk what to say I haven’t even touched the cars from the pass and I’ve won tons of races. Definitely think it’s a skill issue though cause even the most op cars can be beat by any other car with a good tune and a good driver.

​@@misterpacha1the best cars are the golf in tcr and R8 in Forza GT. Both are part of the launch dlc. The nsx gt3 is also up there apparently and that's dlc.

I absolutely love the online races, i’m usually towards the front and it’s great racing, but once you make a mistake and get to the pack you’ll get wrecked

I think they Just need to offer the right Hoppers as soon as possible. Otherwise many decent drivers will be scared away. But for that, drivers need to be seperated. Give people Hardcore lobbies and Forza could have a good MP for everybody. The normal Hoppers for people who Just looking for fun and the ones who looking for a good and fair comperition the Hardcore Hoppers.

For the most part the front runners are fair and fun, every once in awhile tho it’s a joke. Game still needs to make S safety incredibly hard to get and keep. Here’s a fun story. I started P2, P3 got a better start, gave him plenty of space, and he still runs me off in T1, whatever it happens. I recover in P4, caught back up to P2 car in a few laps, overtook him cleanly so he of course felt the need to punt me… so I dropped to 5th. Caught 4th and passed him no problem, then the P3 guy I rapidly caught as well, and for some reason he wanted beef having never had an issue with him. Tried to pass him outside, he ran me off, then when I caught him again he brake checked me 3 times down the same straight, so I finally had enough, shoved him off, and he went for the lunge of the century, missed then quit. Finished P3, no one got any penalties for this mess. Tldr: the game is way too lenient when it comes to contact penalties and safety rating. The majority of the time people behave but when they don’t, they aren’t really punished.

@@cianeberle1712whoa that’s crazy. Track limit penalties are mostly good. I haven’t had any moments like yours, just the safety stuff. I know iracing’s X system isn’t the most fair, but I think it’s the only thing that can really work instead of the game trying to figure out who did what. Like how does brake checking someone 3 times down the same straight not get you penalized?

Good rule of thumb for tire wear is just add 2-3 laps of what the softs run. If they last 2 laps before going yellow than the mediums usually last about 4-5 laps and the hards will last 6-8 laps. You gotta remember tho that every time you slide your using up the tires so you wanna minimize that as much as possible. You’ll definitely go a lot slower but you’ll save enough tread for the end. Still it’s usually not worth saving tires cause a 1 stop will always be faster depending on the track.

Alex u got extremely lucky lol I have alot of experience in the online and it absolutely sucks, meta golf's and R8s fill every lobby, sometimes I can't change tyres or fuel before a race meaning I'm running softs and 3 Laps of fuel....... the game crashes randomly when you're tuning, changing tyres or doing pretty much anything. A streamer I watch has to restart his game after every race bc if he doesn't the race won't start for about 15mins.... yes that actually happened Most if not all the lobbies I join are full to the brim with rammers in golfs and R8s ( even if you're at skill rating 5000 and safety rating S this still happens all the time ) I've won a race by 10 secs and beat ppl with a way higher rating than me and got about 10 skill points and later that day got 4th in a quite bad lobby and gained 30 skill points.... I think u might already know how bad the penalty system is but if u don't well if you're rammed u get a hefty penalty or u run a tiny bit wide hefty penalty but if u corner cut or ram there's no consequence. I've literally seen ppl cut the entire chicane at the nurburgring and get no penalty.....

Couldn't agree more. Till T10 start using the ban hammer, allow crossplay to be turned off, give us damned lobby lists instead of this hopper crap, I'm back playing AMS2 instead. At least there ASSHOLES end up getting booted out and can't rejoin

I have an S rating and a 4500 dr and my races are pretty diverse and I don’t deal with rammers. Seems like some peoples matchmaking works and others doesn’t.

@@codymenesini5102 yeah I got an S rating but asshloes like in this vid fucked my skill rating to 1040 and gleefully boasted about doing so. When skill rating is awarded on just 3 races it makes a mockery of the intent of the word skill and becomes nothing more than luck, not that I'm disparaging YOUR rating in any way BTW. IMHO ratings SHOULD be earned though effort not "luck of the draw". After 3 years playing AMS2 and earning my S1868 rating the hard way, winning 8 time trial championships in 2 years, race championships, holding a few TT records, assisting others in training sessions and making some damned good friends along the way it's galling to get my potential rating fucked by idiots.. You tell me, does this league race look like I should have such a low skill rating, yeah there's a stupid crash lap one, I took responsibility for it, apologised, just to be told it wasn't my fault as the guy to my right said he tried to squeeze me but was unaware I had nowhere else to go.. @@SRS13Rastus The big problem is (i've tested this) you don't get disqualified for penalties until the 9s+ time accumulation which means this penalty system in public lobbies is super lenient for rammers...i'll give you a hint...i got Disqualified for ramming the rammers and short cut penalties to test this system and the rammers had less penalty time awarded....meanwhile i had 9 seconds + of penalties and got disqualified, this is wayyy too forgiving and lenient...it's no wonder the rammers don't give a F and ramm any chance they get, because you don't get disqualified or severely punished for it until 9s+ has passed...pathetic

I hate public lobbies because u either get that person(s) who r there to troll even though the lobby is titled serious racing only clean racing

you must have gotten lucky. Every public lobby i get in there is some clown that decides it is time to intentionally start wrecking other cars because they're in a bad mood or somthing.

Less grip can give you a higher top speed but trickier on the corners. I think you just gotta be careful on the throttle mate

That is definitely the case as well. I loathe driving high powered rwd vehicles because I'm not very good at it.

Every few months I decide “Maybe I’ll try a GTA public lobby for on-line play.” The last 3 or 4 attempts lasted for about 5 minutes before all players are respawned in some random apartment or maybe the middle of the ocean before the entire session collapses and we all have to restart the game.

"Are the public lobbies a horror show?" Well, I'll just say that I've been watching a fair bit of Forza multiplayer videos over the past two weeks, and now KZread's algorithm has started suggesting Wreckfest gameplay videos to me... read into that what you will 😉

Everyone seemed very well behaved. The gods of youtube demand that you do a comparison video in GTA V!

And this is why I haven't even bothered trying multiplayer...(Wait a second, where's all the ramming?)...

I used to see people comment on Horizon's rammers, I'm like eh. When I get a bump or get rammed, it really doesn't bother me. This is my first Motorsport since 4. When I get rammed in THIS game? Ho boy. My last session, I almost rage quit and screamed the F word. They got to me.

@@LSGaming42066 There is a new system but i don't know enough about it to tell you how it works. Haven't got the cash or monitor (currently using a pretty old TV that's a bit crappy for the newer games - tends to be too dark) for the new Forza yet.

@@LSGaming42066 they have that now as well, but the problem is it doesn't judge accurately and can give the victim the penalty instead of the offender

I think the Porsche Vs the Audi battle was good but in my opinion the Porsche driver was a little dirty side by side pushing you out to the grass a few times not leaving any room for you to be on the track. You were definitely the cleaner racer

I thought the same, in places the Porsche was clearly attempting to push Alex off track.

I don't play public lobbies, they think it's destruction derby. Drifting lobbies was fun in FM7, don't know if they are up yet in FM.

I think it’s your setup chap. I can do this race and change the Medium tyres before they turn yellow.

Set -up makes a difference. I do wonder about wheel versus controller with tire wear. I can generally do a medium soft stint in the Ford GT LM around Mid-Ohio without the tires falling off the rails on either stint.

@@Kaylos29 I play on controller with Sport TCS on and let me tell you, it's way harder on controller to get the most out of your tyre compounds due to how much easier it is to slide the car even with throttle control...not exactly balanced lol

Never doing the qualifying again! Today I start from the third place on Spa. First corner a rammer run straight into me, my car starts spinning and every young hero hit me like I'm a pinball. At the end I was on 24th place and 15 seconds behind. Next race I start from the 5th and it was a equal scenario. Than I start quiting the qualifying, watch the big crashes from behind and land allways in top ten. Penaltys for rammers? Surely not! Forza is build from the ground! What means that the shop works to perfection!

Ive been enjoying the Online Public Lobbys it mostly comes down safety rating. Ive been in B rating (now back to S) you just have to play good to get the better lobbys risk your Skill Points for Safety try to balance it out. When your higher up (A,S) rating try push for both and youll get the better lobbys

Tire wear is weird. It's more of a massive drop off in grip than a steady decline in grip. Maybe that's more realistic? I'm not sure..

@12:38 I think there's either some weather desync issue or the rain wasn't hard enough for wet tires. I've had the exact same thing happen to me on Indy and they lasted the exact same amount of laps, 4. I've also had races in the rain where the wets lasted 9 laps easily. Which is why I think it's some sort of desync or the weather is very deceptive. The other drivers might've been on mediums.

I had nothing but excellent racing in the qualifier series of MP. I've had 3 regular series MP races that I didnt finish because the first 2 laps were in FM7 mode with overt rammers. People sending it full speed into my car 30ft before the apex of the third turn on Road America. Spending all of Spa being pinged around the track like a pool ball. And its hilarious how much they talked up their new damage model in the trailer in 2022. because none of it is mechanical. GTAV cars would be on fire with how much you get crashed around in MP. It doesnt seem to be the norm. But I definitely went from being excited about playing MP, To possibly never picking it up again and writing it off entirely like FM7.

At the first race one guy had a +6 second penalty at the end results. =)

The v8 Supercars should have their own category, they AREN’T GT cars

For me its 50/50, great race then get wiped out. For me its just Forza, only time will tell. Going back to where I started you always fine that lobby and that person and its a hell of a race. GG's to them people. Going back to Forza 6, its burnt into my brain. I think it was the event to get the XY Falcan everyone had to run mustangs that had to be all stock. Ran into a English man, him and I, 1 2 1 2 1 2 always bumper to bumper. Great dude, great driving and friendly xbox messages.

The problem with the golf is much worse with TC/SC off. Leave it off for qualifying and then turn it on sport for the race and they’ll last better.

With tyre wear it depends on how u drive, on 8 lap races on most tracks I can make my mediums last till lap 5 then I switch to softs for the last few laps.

My experience so far has led me to uninstall the game, if I qualify 3rd, get crashed and have to fight my way from 23rd or so back to 6th just to be rammed again and even receive almost 4 second penalties for getting rammed than I simply don't want to play a dumpster fire that has a placebo rating system and a penalty system that rewards rammers and punishes those who try to drive clean. Even the Pay2Win wasn't going to make me quit, but there is only so much punishment I am willing to take. There can be good races, just that I haven't found them and can't be arsed to search for them any more.

I wish I could play with failrace the videos seem so fun

I love the online racing in this Forza so much better than previous games. In the open classes ive had a string of bad luck with rammers but but I'll chalk it up to me not having ideal tunes dialed in and me not being fast enough😂

Only the penalty system needs a huge upgrade and better parameters.

I'm really liking Motorsport so far outside of the janky car points system. Unfortunately for me the game crashes during qualifying or loading into the race every time I've tried to do a multiplayer race so far. Got all the way to lap 2 of a race last night, was running 4th and having a ball right up until the game froze and sent me back to my desktop 😢

Alex is way to sensible to play on online lobbies. all being said tho public lobbies arent too bad, not sure what its like in the lower skill & safety rated lobbies but you can have a sensible race in the higher ratings

Even with 4900 skill and S safety rating I've learned that if you drive a car with poor handling and hold people up for too long in the corners, you're guaranteed to get taken out. People have absolutely no patience or tolerance for being stuck in a train.

to be fair that often is the case IRL as well... These lobbies aren't as clean as GT but they are good enough and miles ahead of any other Forza lobby ever

​@@randomfacaI remember having amazing races in Forza 4 in custom lobbies. They are technically public lobbies since it was random people but they were all skilled and clean. Maybe not entirely public though. I had some great races in Forza 7 as well, but I bought that a long time after release. I think after a year or so post release you will find much better and cleaner drivers. The noobs and dirty drivers have moved on to other games at that point

I'm a cloud playing peasant with safety S and skill 1100. It's very hit or miss. Sometimes there's some real fun competition for 11th when I'm three wide with respectful opponents. Other times, the podium is just a demo derby.

7:45 I understand the mistake in the collision but how did you still get a segment score of 10?? When I play, if I tap an AI car (haven't done multiplayer yet), I get a segment score of 1.0 every time, it's like automatic if you touch someone.

i use TCS on the rear drive GT class cars if i dont i burn my rears out too fast

The netcode in these games always looks so wonky and seems to make it quite hard to predict the opposing cars especially when it comes to more subtle movements etc.

I've legit had only 2 good races in public lobbies. Besides that they have all been shit shows. But I'm just here till my PC gets running then I'm back on iracing

I just wish I could launch the game on PC... Same issue with FH5

I've only had one lobby where a guy tried to ram me in the Forza GT hopper, which is the primary one I play. He just wound up taking himself out and then quitting. I have an S safety rating and 4850 skill rating for context on the quality of lobbies. So I would say my overall personal experience has been quite clean and a lot of fun as well 😎

Join the GTA public lobby for a truly frustrating experience.

They need to devolp a system which let's drivers sort them selves out and if not then apply the penalty. I'm forever getting double punished

I think they've fixed a lot of those issues. I haven't had a problem since the latest patch. I'm on PC for what that's worth 🤷

You know...... as some one who watches your content for a long time.... After watching this, I got curious, originally I said "no way!" but this seemed like fun. Then I start reading reviews..... it's bad, it's really really bad! I keep loading more and more but not a single one positive! Only 1 and 2 stars out of 5. Something doesn't ad up here. It was a "I'll pass" at first but for what I've been reading it became a very definite hard pass!
