Imo forced deflation (or rather just normal deflation). If you realised, alot of items go through phases of deflation then inflation. That's because people takes their eyes off a certain item when it gets too pricey, leading to little demand and causing prices to trickle down. When people realises that the item is undervalued, they start buying them again. Previously, I experienced 2 cycles of keys being deflated and inflated before the updated odds of the huge pets were pushes. And I realised that everytime a key (crystal, tech, void) dips past a certain level, it will be the in the buy zone of whales. This certain level can be estimated when you multiply the key price by the odds of getting the huge pet. I remembered in the previous cycle, tech keys were 50k rap but was easily sellable at 79k. Taking 50k multiplied by 1580 (previous odds) gives you 79m. At that time the agony was worth 80m+. Coming back to the current price, 9k times 7300 gives us ~66m, and that's why people are sniping them again. Reason for this is having the chance to pull golden and rb versions which can grant one alot of profit. Even pulling the normal version within 7300 keys is also profitable (not counting other items you get). As for crystal keys, to be very honest I have no idea why. But this is just my experience studying the market in ps99. Thank you for reading! Darkknightpr7

there are 3 options for why people are buying these upper and lowers keys and full 1:they are cheap as hell right now so they will keep them until it rises 2:they buy upper and lower pieces and combine the keys to get cheaper keys 3:people mass buy it because it cheap so they thinks they will easily get the huge thats my answers also GREAT VID

I think that it was just the players afking so much and just grinding keys themselves as well with the chances of huges from the chests being lowered caused this drop in value. I think the ALL keys (tech keys are most affected by this though) are losing value for two reasons. 1. The forever pack is a KEY FARM, making it extremely easy to get any type of key. 2. There are lots of new players starting to play because of the event, and they are getting keys, which are making it so that there are more keys, and that they lose value. BaconsARunner

I have lucky boss chest and boss mimic chest and i farm 50-100 keys each every day.

I believe this isn’t a force manipulation I feel like that they decreased the chances heavily which made the rap go down like crazy but since the rap went down so much I think that big games will noticed and make it slightly easier. And people are only buying so much so that they can use them and get a huge

I've noticed that tech keys have really dropped in value lately, mainly because players just don't need them as much anymore. This change started after the huge chances for rewards were nerfed, making the keys less useful overall. Because of this, demand has fallen and so have prices. A good example of this is the hacker key enchants. They used to be super valuable during the event and cost a fortune. But now, since they're not as useful, their value has dropped A LOT. This clearly shows how the usefulness of game items directly affects their market value (old boots...). Thank you for your time! - lexzoethes

I think the reason is the xp potions, let me explain, when the price of the books of coins where going up and it was a good method for making gems the price of the keys was not profit anymore because with the new prices of the book and the price of the keys it cost a lot more to make it, in result the people dont buy the keys at that price anymore and look for cheap opcions making the keys value go down to where it is now.

I think that there is multiple ways of getting rich in ps99 1- prison keys these things are very VERY OP I don’t think people understand how op prison keys are like once I opened 525 which was approximately 1 huge but instead I got 2 huges (1 golden , 1 normal) you should probably try it out it only costs 175k per key rn which I say is pretty balanced ig? I opened 100 20x eggs and got a huge which is insane considering that the 20x arcade eggs are 175k also rn but it might have been nerfed so I’ll probably say that prison keys are more stable that arcade eggs 3- last one this version might be better than arcade eggs as it’s pretty easy to get huges from it (global event gift) this gift is kinda expensive 1.5m rn however these gifts have a very good odd of hatching which is a good thing as f2p players can attempt hatching huge lunar moths. We don't have a lot of reason to buy tech keys since the nerf. Plus they're in the shop in the endless banner. I actually think the crash is natural. If big games adds a new thing soon that uses keys... yeah, then I think it was forced to buy a ton low like the coins vii books and pinatas recently. Some wealthy players are clearly savvy to inside info so this wouldn't surprise me.

I think that the community is starting to realize that the huge from the tech chest is only going to keep going down, thus causing them to not show interest in opening the chest. They would rather choose to spend their gems on something that may be more worth while. -Its_BigMak

i think its the nerf to the huges odds being almost nothing, it is not worth spending millions and having to open thousands of keys to MAYBE get a huge and end up with a ton of useless trash after. there is no reason to buy and use that key when the void key gives you WAY better loot and their huge odds arent as low as the other 2 world chests. -sapnpa

Hello 👋. So i think that maybe there are a few people that are opening that chest. Even the chance to get huge is nerf but the key price makes people go try that tech chest. Basically it is a lot worth it to try tech chest since 16k chance for crystal key is expensive and the key for void also even though the chance is better. So it makes sense some people will go for the tech chest since it is a better price and doesn't need that much of a key like crystal key to have a chance for huge. 🤔. That's all i guess. PumpkinMama9 I think that there's just much more opportunity to get tech keys now that there are other chests available. I certainly have much more luck with the void chest than the tech chest, so it makes sense that the price of keys reflects that.

If the chances are really 1/7k ish then it could be something, but I used over 3k and didn't get anything doing that. Most likely bad luck on my part, but maybe good luck for someone else :)

Its probably a force deflation because tech keys would never be worth less than the crystal keys since the tech keys have more uses like the mastery potion. Because making mastery potions is actually very cheep now and you can make millions from it you just need to craft the tier 7 coins enchant yourself and ppl are probably taking advantage of the price of tech keys to level up their key mastery and try to get a huge at the same time because 1/7k is very realistic. Or ppl are just hoarding the tech keys hopping that they will rise again becausr tech keys will always be needed because of the mastery potions Dawnwalker_3

it might be a good investment. but opening keys just takes to long. being 1:17K for a huge its not worth the time spent. its better to be at latest area and farm there. it might be worth it if they ever add a option to open a chest that requires 10 keys or 25 for example. with 10/25x the loot. doing this will drasticly increase the amount of keys used == keys worth. but we will see if they ever do this. if they do, would make me very happy ^^ - Azzurax

i got the huge wizard when i had like 7 crystal keys i think i bought 41 and got it and then my 2nd huge pet huge wizard got stolen..

they should just replace it with something else at this point it suks bad if you a older player of the game maybe replace it with something like a (exclusive enchant Stacker and a normal enchant stacker) with it you can only stack 3 books on both that will be worth the 3200rb

I think it was a forced deflation by the players to hoard them. Maybe once they buff the chances of getting the huge from the tech chest the price and means of the tech keys will rise making a massive profit for whoever was hoarding them. With that much profit they could buy a lot more huges than you would get from the chest. -ThyDuckMan100

The reason that the tech keys are deflating is because it is so ways to get them. The tech keys are also deflating because big games lowered the odds and the community does not want to waste value on something that isn’t worth it. For example when I grind for a day I’ll get 20 tech keys bout only 14 crystal key and maybe 1 void key because of pay to win. I think theres just so many options to get keys in general because i went afk over the past few nights and i got so many lower halfs and a bit of upper halfs and while just grinding out the part 2 update its significantly easy to get keys and there are so many being made and thats why i beilive the prices are going down like crazy if i do win my username is cooplovesdragons

i think its forcefully deflation because some people in the pet simulator 99 community inflates huges to scam people, and if they can do that then they can definitely do deflation. Isnt it weird how the crystal keys used to be like 40K under the tech keys and now crystal keys are worth more than tech keys? that just doesnt sound right. And it was probably a target for cyborg agonys because they are a good cool huge with a good rap. They might not be using it for the huges but waiting for them to go up like the golden prison keys so they can make a fortune. No, they are not broken. Preston just tampered your account so you have on everything big luck. Because you are influencer. That is all. This was proven in PSX, that Preston and his team changed luck numbers for individual accounts. In your previous video with crystal keys - you used 5k keys and got 4 huges. 10 other people from Reddit tried same. And got max 1 huges. And then Preston nerfed it, so for many people you lost your relevance and for reddit audience it now looks like you make video where you show how great these keys are, so they can nerf it to oblivion. If they gonna nerf in next update tech keys it will be another proof that they just start using influencers to nerf items. Im not saying you are doing it on purpose. Maybe you dont even know about it.. Maybe they just fiddle with you, waiting if you are gonna notice it to make video about it and then just abuse it for their own incomes.
