It’s kind of hard not to compare it to other games such as GW and GW2. Although it’s different in many ways, Popcap still said that it’s a continuation of the garden warfare series instead of a spin-off. This gave everyone huge expectations that ultimately would have never been met. Hell BFN even reused multiple GE models, sound effects, and music. So people who played the first two games will almost always have a bias when it comes to BFN, it can be hard for some people to separate it from the GW games. Despite that I do agree that it should at least be seen as it’s own thing instead of exclusively being the 3rd GW game.

The thing is, garden warfare had a distinct deal to it, it had a really good mix of realism with the sound design, and goofiness to keep it light. The maps seemed cartoony but very believable and the choke points were always so fun and populated. The different versions of each character felt like TF2 with the different item pieces. It was just so good! Neighborville seems watered down and like they knew what success sounded like but not exactly what it WAS. Yk?

You’re damn right we are! Surprisingly, there’s still tons of players on the Switch version. There are usually AIs playing in the PVP matches alongside players though, seems like there aren’t usually enough human players to fill up the PVP matches If you ever pick up this game again and come across a player named celadonjoestar btw, that’s me!

It just made no sense to take away variants when you’ve had them even in the very first plants vs zombies game. It’s a precedent going forward that you need it, you even had a way to import all your characters in pvz1 to transfer to pvz2 at the start. I like the nightcap in pvz3 but the feeling of buying a pack getting a new character and trying it out felt like constant progression

Tried to play but upon launching from the EA app it instantly crashes and asks to send a crash report. Won't do anything else.

I just hopped on garden warfare 2 from 2016 and had tons of real players in the lobby.

They will always be real players, because Gw2 doesn’t fill missing slots with ai

I remember what i liked doing, was power leveling TF out of the Sunflower using the machine for EXP, and then put every talent point into boosting Healing, like, healing multiple people, healing more and overhealing, think i had a 4th but i don't remember, and then i would hide behind a corner that is where the fight is happening, Especially if it's a Defend location, and i just kept healing, since sunflower doesn't need to aim in the slightest, just hit the button and it aims for you and the beam Never ends. Best part is when you got an Oak or two blocking the entrance completely, and me sitting in a corner, chain healing them, they literally cannot die, 'tis great!

I really feel like a lot of the hate this game gets is just for the sake of hating. Like, I've seen a video where someone went ''EWWWW'' when looking at it's visuals, which while there are A LOT of things wrong with bfn, the visuals are definitely not one of those things.

I need to know what "A LOT" actually is? Other than that, I totally agree that the visuals on Switch are great, no need to compare them to other platforms, and people hating on it coz it's not Garden Warfare 2. People need to stop blaming lag for the game, it's everyone's personal internet and the servers they play on, and a skill issue, not the game itself!

So i have this game since 2021 and it became my most played game for literally no reason. Im level 1700+ and i think i can tall about the problems. Ive also played gw2 and i also have 500+ hours on it So for first, EA rushed another game, which was good, but they tried to take the perfect things and change them for no reason. 1. Characters. For the whole game we got a lot of new characters. Snap dragon, oak and acorn, Nightcap, Electro swing, cosmic cadet, 80s action hero, wildflower, tv head and wizard (sorry if i misspelled, i dont have the english version of the game.) In total, there are 9 new characters. A lot, but they decided to get rid of the variants. The literal thing that made people keep playing this game’s ancestors. It was a horrible idea. I honestly find the game really boring when i keep on facing the same enemies. 2. Maps. My god they are REPETITIVE. Most maps have a setting from one of the single player maps or literally is just a chunk of the maps that alreadg exist. Not to mention how annoying they are. Im mostly talking about Team Deathmatch or other modes not including the arena and Turf Takeover. Its just annoying. Like the map with cheese. I cant count how many times the game glitched when i fell into the cheese and it instantly killed me. Or some maps are just bad, like the neighborhood one(dont know the english name). There are so many spots to hide and camp and just have an advantage over the players that are actually good and want to fight and not just bi*** around. 3. Graphics. Nahh i swear to god… The graphics make me either want to live or die. Some maps look like this game is for kids (even tho it is) or like a map where the graphics actually fit. But everything looks made out of plastic, which brings me to the next thing: 4. Character designs. Commander Corn Cytron Rose Foot Solidier All-Star Enginner All of these characters designs make me want to cry… Commandor corn looked like he could pack a punch AND HE DID but now he looks like he would shit himself in every fight…(ill talk about animations in a sec) Cytron just looks bad… i mean he look A tier in the last game but they just ruined it Rose has to be the worst. She looked (i guess i can say) pretty in the last game, now she looks flattened. Its awful Foot solidier is same as citron, his design is just worse. All star is also same, but its even worse somehow. And engineer, i didnt like his design in gw2, but now they made him look more human i guess and its not a plus or a minus. 5. Animations. Some of them are just horrendous. I really like chompers animations, peashooters,sunflowers,Soldiers,scientist, and the rest are mid but some of them just… *ENORMOUS SIGH* Commander corn looks like he’s about to shit himself while running Cactus same Action heros animation looks sped up and like hes running on ice which is honest very unsatisfying 6. Skins Some are good, some are just bad. Chomper literally has like 5 identical skins and no monthly pass skins where only 2 skins of his are good Commander corn also has no good options unless u want to be emo Cactus has one good legendary skin but im not wasting money on a game nobody plays Rose has… some awful options And wildflower literally has none… same as TV head Super brains literally has 4 legendary pass skins and none are good All star has to have the worst with literally no skin looking good… Engineer yeah… In general the GOOD skins get boring after using them 5 times like snap dragons legendary pass skins 7. Currency Coins are incredibly easy to farm but everything is way too expensive. Tv head, wildflower and wizard are behind a pay wall, costing 500k each. I counted, and if you wanted to get every skin in Rux and all characters, you will need at least 3.8 million coin. THATS TOO MUCH I HAVE BARELY SAVED UP A MIL AFTER JUST NOD NEEDING COINS ANYMORE CUZ I HAVE EVERYTHING IN REWARD O TRON AND RUX… And then rainbow stars… they ruin the game. You can get them legitimately, but you get barely nothing for way too much work. Every week, if you complete all the missions, you can get around 60 stars, where a legendary skin(just one) costs 1000… you see the problem? And guess what! YOU CAN BUY THEM… i hate it :) 8. Lack of motivation from EA. They left the game too quickly. If they listened to the fans, the game would be as much or even better gw2. They just didnt care. 9. All of this leads to the biggest problem, lack of fans and players. No play= no game. Its boring when i play Turf Takeover and more than half the players are bots. Sometimes you can find full servers, and then maybe, JUST MAYBE its fun because it depends on the players. I dont think i need to explain more, i leave this comment or even rant here and thank you if you read the whole thing. I hope you have a good day!

A majority of this video is spent complaining about mechanics and abilities that carried over from the second game. The other games feel very dated to me and getting into a 7 year old game with 120 slight variations to the original classes isn't appealing whatsoever, this game could have been a lot more if the developers gave af but I still find bfn to be better gameplay wise

3:57 😂 plants are way better than zombies in this game. You need to actually work as a team on zombies to win. Need healer need engineer, need mage. Atleast 2 of the 3 or be a much better player... thats why I enjoy zombies so much more.
