Last year, I treated myself to a pair from Junkard, and I can't recommend them enough! The craftsmanship is impeccable, with extraordinary attention to detail, and they feel as sturdy as a tank. I absolutely adore them, just like I adore your channel. Keep up the excellent work!

My Junkard were not too impressive tbh. The sizing was off and then the heel block was delaminating after 2 wears.
Good to get your input on at least a few Indonesian makers. I went a bit crazy last month and ordered from Junkard, Jakkrabbits, and Sagara. I’m trying to be a not-nervous person 😅. I found each company responsive, courteous, and helpful. Bagus at Sagara, true to his reputation, was especially great. The prices are increasing, good to get them now ( I told myself, haha). I hope the boots will be as nice as others have reported.
Fantastic to see a fellow Australian on my screen. I am greatly enjoying your content and style of delivery!
Another great video, Thanks! I love my Stryders. I have Prof Barnet's & they are also great. Thanks for the mention, Happiness
Just ordered a pair of custom Sagara’s the other week. The owner Bagus is such an amazing guy. We exchanged over 20 detailed emails and he helped me customize every aspect of the boots. Plus Maryam horsebutt for only $550 is an amazing price. They will be coming in at the same time as my nicks x parkhurst in double stuffed burgundy. November is going to be an exciting month

The berry color on your collab with fortis is so unique.
I have a tanker boot in queue with Fortis. I am really looking forward to it. Thanks for this great video!
Great content as always, Teik.
Man, this guy knows some pile about boots! Great video!
Great video! As an Indonesian and fellow welted footwear enjoyer, I'd like to mention Winson and Midas (sister brand), as I think they have high quality craftsmanship and reasonable price point
Great video; you have quickly become my favorite boot channel. I have 2 pairs from Sagara; monkey boots in Rocado shell and service boots in roughout Maryam horsebutt. Both are excellent in quality and communication with Bagus was smooth. I’m awaiting my olive Isidros from Bordon, so let’s see how Colombia compares with Indonesia.
great looking collection! I'm considering my first Indonesian boot, too. Very helpful vid
Very good video thank you. I ordered a pair of Fortis boots based mainly on one of your reviews. It was quite a wait but well worth it. I am very happy with them and intend to order another pair from Fortis. I would not describe them as inexpensive though, there is a saving compared to a US supplier but not as much as you might expect.
Junkard is dope. Responsive communication and quite diverse customization option.
Just found your channel. Nice videos. thanks
Perfect timing been looking into Indonesian myself
I have one Sagara Cordmaster, 3 from Imperium, 2 from Prof.Barnets, 1 from Monroe Heritage, 1 from Junkard and 1 from Norddleather 1 from Renavgoodsco. They're all pretty comparable, but do get all your details down properly on sizing, and there'll be less issues.
Great reviews and a good preview of what to expect! I'd love to get a pair of Indonesian boots at some point. There are just some really unique styles, like the "Ocean Blue" one by Fortis with the saw tooth patterned white soles (not sure what name to use with that style) or the color 8 uppers on Java waxed flesh. I'm also a big fan of how your Stride 2 with the berry like color looks. I've never worn a wedge sole and I hear they are very comfortable

While the quality is very good the price is no longer shockingly low. Those guys have caught on to the trend and they are steadily increasing their prices to US levels almost.

Quality has its price
I have a pair of Prof Barnett’s, they are built like your Fortis collaboration, but with more of a spring toe .Leather is the local crazy horse, thinner then most but has nice kip leather lining, so is ok. Build quality is perfect to my eye. Only complaint is the stitching in the uppers is not holding up well. I think the tread they use could be better. It’s a very competitive way to make a living. And they deserve our support.
yes I am from Bandung, Cibaduyut (area in Bandung City) is the best bootmaker
On the wait times, for some of the better known makers it can be very long indeed. Midas has a current wait of 6 months. Junkard is 4 months right now. They are definitely worth the wait though.
It’s so interesting to see so many handmade boot loci throughout the world like Spokane, WA for the PNW styles, Northampton for brands like Crown Northampton, and Leon , Mexico. That veltshorn (sp?) method seems very similar to what Trenton & Heath showed on a White’s recraft video where a welt was sown on top of the stitch down then through the midsole. I believe they said it was like a sacrificial piece to protect the flared out upper lip to allow for more resoles between rebuilds. It seems like the main difference to the veltshorn construction is that the welt is in between the midsole and flared out upper lip like a Goodyear welted boot would be. Do I understand that right? Thanks for the great content as always man. You rock!
@Bootlosophy
11 ай бұрын
No, the T&H video you refer to was a White’s rolled welt. Similar. In stitchdown the uppers are flared out and sewn down on the midsole. In Veldtschoen the uppers are flared out and sewn on a welt, which is then sewn on the midsole, in Whites rolled welt, the uppers are flared out, then a welt made of the same uppers leather is sewn on top of the flared out uppers, rolled over and flared out, and then both sewn on to the midsole - crazy! Watch any of my Whites MP reviews to see the explanation.
If there was a sort of Strider II group MTO or something, where I can just pay my part and provide my measurements, then someone for the group can follow on updates and whatever, that might be the way to get me in on Indonesian boots. Great vid, thanks for the helpful perspective.

If only….🤣🤣🤣
Really like my 2 pairs of Benzein boots. I have a pair of Seventh Chelseas in brown overdyed Badlassi veg tan and a pair of Side Zips in Horween Black Chamois Smooth Out. I’d put them up there with Viberg and Rolling Dub Trio.👍
Tahura also makes a very good service boot in addition to the ones you named
I had one pair of txture & Sagara. For the locals, their boots it's kinda expensive. But the quality was superd. Other Indonesian brand you should consider to buy it's Fortuna, Junkard and Daedalus.
I've also designed a pair of boots in collaboration with Sany from FortisBoots called El Primero, and I can only say that it's my most comfortable pair of boots I've ever tried.... And now he has modified them a bit to make them even more versatile and more wearable if you're looking for something more elegant. Great review as always my dear Teik!!!

I’ve got experience with Onderhoud, Prof Barnets, Imperium, TXTURE, Renav Goods, Briselblack , Monroe and will soon have a pair of Fortis boots. I’ve loved all of my Indonesian boots and I’m very excited to soon add Fortis to the collection, Sany has been a pleasure to work with.

@@muhammadghiffary2110out of those my top two are Onderhoud, then Fortis! Both incredible build quality and comfort, Onderhoud is the better of the two but very difficult to get in with. Fortis is still incredibly high quality though and far easier to work with!
I always found that Indonesian boots have larger upper. The eyelets left to right always be closer leading to less tightening range...Other wise the sole stitching work is amazing , even compared to PNW boots. The gaping hole on the upper is heart breaking. I have to cover that with electrical tape with shoe glue.
Horsebutt for less than $1000? Fantastic value if they are made from that leather!!
one of my dreams is to one day own a nice pair of indonesian boots.

Really sad about Santalum. Praying for the owner. I feel fortunate that I was able to have pair of shoes made by Santalum many years ago. They've been my favorite shoes for years and I just had them resoled.
What's your opinion of Txture boots? Have a pair of their Sanity boots on style and should have them within the next 2 months. I'm so excited to receive them. If I like them as much as I hope, I'll order a second pair a few months later to have a spring pair!! Please give me your honest opinion.

I want a pair of North American boots that are lightweight and comfortable, they would be used for out on the town, what would you recommend ? Money is not an object? Not sure what too buy! Viberg, Whites, Nicks?
@Bootlosophy
6 ай бұрын
None of the brands you mention are lightweight due to their construction. But out of the 3, Viberg is probably most “out on the town”. Would you consider American but made in Spain? If so Parkhurst would fit the bill.
They call it Bandung Cibaduyut.
I ordered a pair from Legium a few months ago and cannot recommend them enough. Back then I was their first international customer and they explained so far they made boots for other bootmakers (I didn't ask which) before starting their own brand. I have two pairs now and ordered a third. Turnaround time was roughly four weeks but I suspect this will increase as they get more popular. Quality and craftsmanship is amongst the best I have seen fron Indonesian bootmakers. (And I own quite a few boots from different Bandung bootmakers.) Depending on the time of the day the person who handles their Instagram and WhatsApp replies instantly or within a few hours. And his English is very good. When the first pair didn't fit they made a custom last for me and crafted a replacement pair using this last for free.
