Horses are great for companionship. Another use for the horses is energy, they can be put on a turnpike that cranks an alternator or generator for power. They can also power a mill to mill sorghum into flour.

You addressed very valid contributions a horse(s) can contribute to our lives. That term "don't look a gift horse in it's mouth" in the literal translation means that horses are valuable, period. 🤙🏼🐎

Good for you! You work so hard and deserve to have some horses if thats what you want. It's a small price to pay for your mental health and happiness even if they had nothing else to add to your homestead adventure. They are so beautiful to just look at.

That’s a nice size 2.5 Acres, storing water and solar is important especially for garden and the animals.😊 Love horses, I’m gathering you’ll let them eat grasses inn the warmer weather😊

Seems the peace and joy, that appears obvious, is the best purpose for your horses. Those are key elements to a single person's sanity when void of others for long periods of time. Buying feral horses was another frugal move on pricing as well. They're starting to look comfortable around you. Stay Warm!

Love the channel! If you ever had to travel for whatever reason, how would you manage the property? Are you friends with other people who could take care of the animals?

Great choice for your homestead for all the reasons you spoke of! One more is any large animal is great for our desert soil restoration. Where you are housing them and the pasture area they roam will be incredible to grow on. You'll be able to grow them an amazing mixed nutrient pasture in no time very inexpensively, only consideration is correct species for low water needs but tons of them for the desert. If space allows moving them from one pasture to another will allow you to grow food for you on one while they are on the other. Horses are essential to homesteads. The comments of "bad idea" is because not everyone understands there is value in the right animals other than food. They are not considering how much physical help they will provide you on the homestead as well as travel security. Then a horses beautiful companionship is priceless. And then there is this amazing marketable skill you are learning.

How far are you from wherever you get your Amazon packages, hay, and/or other necessities? Will riding the horses to this town be possible in the future? Once they are trained, will there be any way to hook the horse(s) up to a wagon and go into town that way for supplies, or are you too far backcountry? I've always loved the idea of going back to more primitive/pioneer ways. I don't want to say Amish/Mennonite, but they have the right idea with horses too. Use them for plowing the fields, use them for taking you into town when needed for supplies you can't get otherwise (tools, nails, chains, etc). I've also recently been watching a lot of videos on horse-powered milling, cider presses, and other early "industrial" work like that. There's even a few videos of horses on primitive wooden-slat treadmills being used as the "generator" to power various things around the homestead. They are truly a valuable asset on any homestead, in my opinion.

Yes, running for supplies with the horses and a wagon is possible. It would have to be an overnight trip but that could be really enjoyable.

How much did your horses cost you? I grew fairly poor without being around farm animals like you’ve described. I have this inherit fear I’ve planned to get over by learning how to ride them this summer so I can plan to have my own homestead one day. I like your videos man, very inspiring stuff. And have you ever thought about a mule, they consume less water and generally don’t need much maintenance on there hoofs from what I know.

Dude, you are like me. I love having animals around me. As a matter of fact, I have 2 lap dogs on me now. I love horses. That is the main reason I want to have a ton of acres out there in Arizona or another western state. I could load up on horses and have them roam the property, and I could ride them out into the wilderness. Were they cheap for you to buy? I am really interested in Mustangs since they have a lot of them housed out there waiting on people to adopt them.

💫 Ohhh'' My Stars''' k Firstly'' For the Life of me 'I Can not even imagine a bad Reason for Having Horse's..Have'n Grown up several Summer's'out at My Uncle' AJ's Stallion Ranch jst out side of pheonix'Arizona& earlier life Hanging out every weekend at My step dad's ' Grandparentents Farm jst out side of Tuscaloosa Alabama. And' Being a horse artist as my first Picture I ever did Was High O' Silver From the Lone Rangers oldies''& rhen' My uncles Stallions.that Led to doing Horse Art Stamps for Shirts sleeves back in the seventies..I take any nay' sayers who evidentally know nothing about horses or Farms/ Ranches whatever ppl want to label them& jst toss them aside words and all.. Horses have a very therapuetic affect on ppl as well' not jst work horses..Their Bonds'are lifelong. They have personalities jst like we do. I can remember my uncle explainibg that to me' because he had a few other breeds out on his ranch from time to time' and One of his life long buddies' wS very picky about bonding with ppl.. Bt' i was very fortunate he liked me straight away'abd'was the second horse I ever drew.. I love Drawing and sketching Them While they are in their playful moods.. Bt' to hear someone say ' why have horses on a homestead' Thats like saying have a Burger King without Burgers Horses are a huge part of the life living in this'way.. And' jst reminds me of more reasons many choose to be awY from city life.. I' myself am gearing up nxt mnth to place my first deposite dwn on land. And' taking my three bunns bunns with me too'& yes' many asked me the same question' about my bunney babes & My Bees ' bt believe me all can earn more than their keep 10 fold. However' I'll be heading up into North Carolina with my Mom' helping her with her medicine wheel garden and building up my bee hiving while helping them at the farmers market during the spring and fall harvest. While i save up more for the Bee Bath Pods' & no' 'they are not for humans to live in' bt' my lady bees' it will definitely be their new home. 😂 So' I'll be build up the things' I'll need to have on the land before I take full reins of my land' as Yes im sure i could build some of the things yoyr building' I can honestly say' i know my limits& my abilities' hlililololol..So' I'll be helping to give back& a time for Preperation as i learn more how'to have my own lil' space in this Crazy World & Simplify My Emotions that have been on high speed in the City life way too long. Had been searching for 2 years and now have found the area that I keep wanting to experience once'again.. So' im really excited your Platform Share'came'acrossed my shoulder' firstly from what you were showing about your water tower' As I sell blessed rose rain water.Amazing for washing your hair in. I have several ppl buying it jst for that reason alone. So that instantly caught my ears .. Bt' that you sell teas' now that grabbed my attention' so' i will be wanting to buy some of your Rose hibiscus tea' Indeed'' Is my Favorite' nxt to Mango Tea..i think ill have to go back to that video to see if you have 'link there for it.. Bt' surely will say' this' will be my first time finding out how to donate to you homestead ' definitely horses' bt' pups & piglets too. I usaully reframe from using the online methods. To much Chance& Mix ups'that can Burn you if you arent careful' i know' because i ordered a pair of boots on line' and they kept charging my account after the sale was finished so it froze up my card& cant even go into how that hosed up a trip to San Fran 'Cali i had landed into their airpport with all that to face turming my phone back on. Also' thanks for the starlink tip as'well.I think thst will be very helpful even out at my Moms farm in NC. She's Completely off Gridd.. Ive been completly off grid in the middle of one of the busiest cities' except my phone. So' a huge thank you.. I also can see you have several uploads to checkout too' so'' Im looking forward to watching them too. I'll need as much preperation ' before i leave the city life here Indeed. Bt''know jst as many trolls there might be' im sure theres multifold of ppl whom literally find your things you share very helpful . Im already looking into the battery you mentioned .im trying to make a list' then knock them dwn as i go.. Had wanted to graduate to having a couple'of horses myself So' is'why i was looking for 4 acres' bt' you seem to be doing quite well on 2. 5 and you have horses and other lil' critters there'with you .. Thanks'Again for Sharing your Adventures & the things'that have worked better out on your Lil''Section of the Pie.. Trisha/Purple Poetry 💫✨️🐞✨️💫
