What kind of paper are you using for your swatches?

Hi! I use 2 most of the times: Carson or Strathmore watercolor paper. In this video specifically it was Canson! :) hope it helps!

Hi! i want to purchase those paint. can i paint on them on watercolor paper? shall i cover it with gesso? what is best for them? i am about to purchase few things and im not decided.

Hi! How comfortable are you with painting on canvas? Acrylics and open acrylics can work on paper: acrylic paper, mixed media, also watercolor paper, but I would use golden open on canvas simply for didplay purposes. They are closer to oils. Paper doesn't really require gesso so no need! If you are not comfortable with canvas, yes, can practice on paper. You want these paints because they slow drying?

@@artcraftblog thank you for your answer. never tried painting on canvas but was looking to buy and try oil paints but decided to opt out due to toxicity and was thinking to try acrylics. I do paint with gouache and acrylic gouache on paper

@herrmosa918 ah! Fantastic! Acrylics are definitely less smelly and solvents are less toxic, but compared to gouache they can be more toxic if that makes sense? It's normally down to pigments. If label says non toxic you're good for painting. I'm not sure I would jump directly to these after acrylic gouache / gouache but if choosing between oils and acrylics there is not much choice, either these paints or chroma atelier, they also dry super slow but I haven't tried. If slow drying not the thing you're looking for, then any other good brands acrylics will work too. On paper as well :)
