Power creep has definitely taken a huge chunk out of their glory days, but carnosaurs are still a pretty good unit. Need proof? To this day a Primeval Glory doomstack of these things is still a huge pain in campaign. Only thing I'd say they really needed changed is either more missile resist or more health. But I'd probably say that for most single entity monsters. The impact of a huge expensive beast in TWW just doesn't hit the way it does in tabletop.

The biggest issue with lizard Dino's is that they have an abundance of heroes that do it better, and can be acquired earlier than the recruitable ones from the building chain. How often does anyone actually go about recruiting Feral Carno's in their campaigns? I think if they got knocked down to a T4 building it would make a world of difference.

Well you can get the heroes but they take a long time to grow. I certainly have recruited them in the past straight from the building... but I think everyone's favorite method is still to break up a Primeval Glory army if it has like, 4 of them, so you have two in two armies or one in four armies.

I like these as general purpose problem solvers. While on paper they're monster hunters, they're great into just about anything if you need it dealt with badly enough. The best part about them is their speed and responsiveness, they can be on something in a couple seconds from pretty much anywhere in an emergency; they can save lords and heroes, rear charge and terror rout elite infantry away from Saurus, ward off cavalry or else make that charge theor last, knock over artillery in under thirty seconds from the start of a battle, and pick up some archers for a snack on the way back. They can multitask beautifully by wobbling between those tasks and others, and charging through lines then disengaging on the way to something else, juke artillery or even guns and arrows, and weave between units to be equal parts hammer and scalpel. I don't think they doomstack especially well, but they're one of my favorite units to stick into an army almost regardless of composition to get things done, and they're easily my favorite unit to get control of in multiplayer campaigns, where I can just micro one for the entire fight. They hit that beautiful tactical balance of being able to outfight anything they can't outrun, being able to outrun anything they can't outfight, and being better at running and fighting combined than almost any other unit. Only the Bloodthirster really threatens them, and even then, the Bloodthirster won't make it through cleanly, or at all if the Carnosaur has support. Pretty much the only things wrong with them is that a Scar Veteran on one is just better in every way but ease of recruitment, and they do need a bit of micro to really pull weight, leading to diminishing returns past like, 2 if you're not a micro wizard.

Feral Rage makes stacking them full of its own annoyances but they definitely have lots of upside. I'm sure given freedom of choice I'd break up a Primeval Glory army between 3-4 others and send one Feral Carnosaur to each. Definitely a panic button for certain large entities getting loose.

They are a really good unit- good at what it is designed to do. It is not the best anti-large unit in the game, but its pretty strong in the role. It was just buffed in 5.1 with Weapon Strength, which allows the unit to be a better anti-large tool. I think that their HP should be buffed to 8500 and their Leadership should be at least 70 to make them less prone to routing. Otherwise, I totally agree with your assessment- this guy is a scalpel, meant for a hit and run, not staying in a fight for long periods of time. Dread Saurian he is not, but they are the fastest and cheapest anti-large melee option on the Lizardmen roster.

Heyho! Nice video :) I did not comment the last videos. But i watched them today. Nice that you did the whole ogre roster and now the carnosaurs :D. Good videos as always! The problem is the carnosaur suffered from powercreep. It got less good over time. He can still do very well when he get the chance to do so. But do i recruit them? Definetly no. The only one i recruit is the regiment. He got the same "problem" like the stonrhorn. Why should i recruit them as an unit if i can get them as an hero. And the heros on a carnosaur perform a lot better and are quite good! I love them. But i use them only as mounts 😅🤷🏻‍♂️ But still, they can be effective if given the chance. I also got another video series idea that could intrest a few people. Maybe you could save the idea for future content. :) I am talking about dragons. All of them. Star dragons, Sun, moon, forest and black dragons. The high elves can recruit 3 of them and can use them as mounts(even the fire mage hero can get one), the woodelves can recruit the forest dragons and get them as mounts and same goes for the black dragons of the dark elves. And dont forget abount the undead dragons, the chaos dragons and the weird norscan ones 😂. I think they are very good and versitile single entity monsters. And i feel like they are also very good as normal units. They can do a lot of work. One of my favorites in game. The great eagle are also very ineresting (mount and normal unit, but i think they are only good as mounts) and the 3 phoenix variants also. But i am mostly interestet in the dragons. But there is a lot to consider. A lot variants, lords and a lot races to try to get a proper picture of them. Only wanted to give you the idea! Keep up the good work! :)

I've done videos on the eagle and the phoenixi, just search for them, but I haven't gotten deep into the dragons ever. I might well do just that after update videos on Terrorgheist and the Vampire Coast version, they've been improved which helps them fight power creep. Thanks for the input!
