The Mars hydro should have been a MINIMUM of 24 inches from the growth.. also the reason you had better color on one has to do with nutrients.. if a light is driving a plant harder they eat more. Running out of nutes gives you a sick plant. The amount of nutes a plant uptakes correlates directly to light.. (and other factors)

Thanks for this comment. I've definitely got a lot to learn on this topic myself. I appreciate the info. :)

I'd recommend that long slim lamp I showed here. It was a decent price and worked well. Anything you find at a store like Home Depot for growing plants is likely to work too though.

Best budget light is the apelila 8000 no question and I’ve tested countless ones and this specific brand is phenomenal and for the price ebay under 90$ sometimes cheaper if u can find them there’s alotnof this style but this brand is what u want for a cheap light that works better then mars hydro or any of the top brand in the midrange power class it’s not the biggest size so if you got a 5x5 and up you’ll want a few of them but they are my top choice for lights especially on a budget

I’ve just been using a grow light bulb replacement for a regular LED bulb and putting it into a table lamp. Works totally fine and got them from Home Depot for maybe $10 a bulb? Light is light, so long as it’s not filtered, you just want it to act like the sun for them I think. I’ve found what matters more is knowing the plant. Some plants genuinely hate direct light and will get crispy or won’t grow right. Meanwhile, other plants love it. Some plants also really like porous containers like terracotta over plastic because it airs out the roots faster and doesn’t compact them, while others love it when the water is retained. This was a super cool experiment too though that’s highlighting (no pun intended) the ridiculous pricing of some of these things.

what you have just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.

That's not a very helpful reply yobro. Being nasty to people might be an entertaining pastime, but I'd offer that being useful and helpful to people can be even more rewarding.

Thx for the ideas. You're (mostly) right about "light being light". That's frequently the case, but with some light sources, while they may look the same to our eyes, the actual wavelengths packed into that "white" light can actually be very different (and full of holes in key areas (where plants are concerned). For plants, it's good to look for lamps that advertise being "full spectrum". That's a bit of a hollow term, but what it's getting at, is that the lamp is giving a broader spectrum of light, and should (probably) be pretty decent for plants - especially if it's just to get them started before they go outside.

If you're talking about me then I guess I'll take that as a compliment. Bale is (from what I hear) a pretty intense guy to work with though, so I hope I don't come off as that intense. But Gosling seems like a pretty chill dude.

Curious what a "Christian Bale/Ryan Gosling hybrid" would actually look like, I tried running a request through a decent AI imager that I have subscription access too. It nailed it... though I don't know if it looks like me. I can email you the image if you shoot me an email at praxisprepper@gmail.com AI imaging just totally baffles my mind as to how well it works.
