Great collection. I like what he said about buy what you like . Every collection and collector you have videoed has their niche on what they collect and like but it comes down to buy quality items. I just added a beer tray that I have passed up for years because I did not find one in good shape. It was worth the wait. Nice video again.

I agree - some really nice pieces here.

I've known Roger for 50 some years and I've seen his collection grow and shrink and evolve. I went through the same stage he did when he talks about having to have everything Leinenkugels and I know exactly what he is talking about. My advice to beginners would be collect what YOU like. It is your collection so don't collect for someone elses approval. Not everyone has the same resources so don't compare your collection with the collections of others. If you like what you have its a great collection. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks.

Great video as always. Roger has a great collection! Personally I liked it better with the mix of soda and beer but it's still a great collection. Like Steve Schindler said, buy what YOU like. Don't compare your collection to someone elses, nobody is competing. Buy what you enjoy and aren't afraid to display. I'll never understand the big collectors that display nothing and keep everything packed away. If you can't display it, sell it so someone else can!

Smalls will kill a collectors funds. Save your money for quality pieces. I agree with him about holding stuff. Get some stuff and sell some of it. Have a revolving collection.

That's the neat thing about breweriana .Every collector specializes in something and value and quality is in the collectors eyes. Glasses , placemats , large signs , small signs, bottles, labels, news print and so on. I don't think that smalls will kill a a collectors funds if that's his interest in breweriana collecting. What a great hobby.

How do you define quality? More expensive? Rare? Which is a higher quality collection, one with 25 pieces worth 1000 each or one with 100 pieces worth 250 each or one with 500 pieces worth 50 each. Obviously it would depend on what the pieces are (porcelain, vs tap knobs vs labels vs glassware vs beer cans etc.) Since certain areas lend themselves more to higher priced stuff but I have always hated the quality vs quantity comparison. When you start getting into that debate you are starting to compare your collection to others which goes against my advice to collect for you. I know people who have 10 Brett Favre cards worth 100.00 each but I would much rather have my 1000 card collection even if I'd be lucky to get a buck a piece for them. Quality is the best collection you can put together while still enjoying the process of putting it together.

I recall seeing one at a recent beer show and didn't see much value there based on their asking price.
