As always, thank you for your thoughts and knowledge. When I consider the infinity of space/time, the seemingly impossibilties that we are all unaware of, the presence of non personified essences (or feelings), our nature to attempt to attribute a gender to energies and all that is and will remain unknowable by humans no matter the progression of science & philosophies; I've learned to respect many opinions and to constantly remind myself to shun conceit of knowledge or claims of "This is the only way" and such. Money, sometimes can slant our judgements. I fervently wish only to be the best person that I can be and to treat all with respect until or unless they've shown that they are not deserving. Thank you again, brother.

Thank you for continuing to make these distinctions. Definitely the eye of a newt and skin of a toad brewing in a cauldron is not what Iyami, Aje or Awon agba are about. Certainly there's been an age old conflation with the term "witch" in West Africa like so many other enforced western definitions applied to Yoruba concepts.

I was attacked by a coven of witches. It was IFA that saved me. I would love more information on this. Particularly these verses about the witches and Obatalas relationship towards them. I'm actually working on a documentary about the experience.

Hope to read your book and hope it deals with the overlay of patriarchy, and how the justifiable reaction to abuse of women for hundreds of years is related to this conversation. Imbalances create all sorts of things. Enslavement is also a big part of the conversation.

Is that your understanding of Yoruba history??? Or are you borrowing other peoples history and trying to superimpose it upon the Yoruba? I am not a historian, but nothing in my own research agrees with what you’ve described. So, I wonder where in Yoruba history have you seen evidence of your claims? What in contemporary Yoruba civilization do you see manifestations of the historical conditions you described?

@@ObafemiO no, no, no, never said that in reference to Yoruba history. At all. Was a general statement about misunderstandings around feminine energy and negative perceptions of that force, and how suppression and abuse of women creates continuous imbalances and is even connected to our ancestors’ enslavement. I’m thinking about how my people wound up in Jamaica, where they originated, what the breakdowns were in the places they originated, what their understanding/treatment of women was and is, based on cultural retention. I understand the impact of enslavement in producing dysfunction, but it also didn’t begin with enslavement. We don’t like to acknowledge that. This isn’t a good forum for nuanced conversations. Difficult to explain briefly. But I always enjoy your content. ✌🏽

Hello! What about those who interact with Luciferin and the Arch angel spirits who claim to be witches? Before I came across your page, I was just browsing different spiritualist and I stumbled across a priestess who claims to study Ifa, Vodoo and working with daemons. She claims to be a witch and spoke of shadow work, as well. I can't wait until your book comes out.
