Matt Helders is an insanely good drummer. A good drummer isn't all about what you can play, it's also about keeping in time and backing up the other instruments. And keep in mind he's also doing the backup vocals. So all in all he is a very good drummer

Mr. Wapojif As I drummer, you're kinda right. Technically, he's not special, but he always lands cool and creative drum lines, and that what makes him stand out from other drummers, I guess. Playing and composing are completely different things. But no, he's definitely not the best.
@VaNSaNT85

I think you are right, Helders is not the best drummer ever for sure but his drumming mostly stands out from the rest of the band and from most of the contemporary mainstream bands, of course modern music in general is not too complex so probably that's why people may feel that someone is much better than what he actually is. But also, for the kind of music Artic Monkeys play, you can't really show all your potential as a musician, eventhough, Helders has managed to add some really cool beats with some degree of complexity. For me, he and O'Malley stand out from the mainstream scene in what they do and in my opinion it's ok to say they are talented as musicians, not the best ever but very talented
It's simply incredible to see how they changed their style from little innocent teenagers to bad boys and finally to strange hippies

Someone in my school put a post it note on the "Wonder Wall" (where you ask philosophical questions) and someone wrote R U Mine?, so I just had to put I Wanna be Yours underneath it.

Fuck are they good and they know it.
Alex came to see my band play on trippets lane in sheffield many moons ago he's a pretty cool dude......great band......they deserve much of this celebrity...they worked very hard for it!

Haha Alex in 2:23 like "look baby I got a guitar there"
I absolutely love Arctic Monkeys, I think they’re a great band who make bangers, they’ve kept me entertained during this shit lockdown and I think Alex Turner’s a very talented young man.
This is so badass, those dance moves, the vocals... Well played lads.

Everyone saying he is trying to act cool and he is too cocky! Well peoplez would you prefer him to be a shy, unconfident person? Their concerts would be boring as hell and he wouldn't be confident enough to try new genres of music, neither interviews, which helps with making a band more popular etc!
@reviewthe1

Overall, its an act from him when he is on stage. Watch any interview and he is still the same Alex who has gained confidence after years of touring. I really like how much more confident he has become, makes it interesting!

Jools Hollands programs always have some of the best recording to TV I've heard, no matter the band. That sound team just got it.
Some of the best music you will ever hear from this century. That drummer, I didnt know he drummed blind some of the time.
These lads just give off that superstar vibe, too good
They've come a long way from their performance of When The Sun Goes Down with the original line up, spotty skin, wearing sweaters and jeans on Jools Holland. It's always interesting to track your own growth with that of a band
that funny moment when I discovered these guys in my English book, there was a whole chapter about them and how they started without being signed to a big music house.

Who drops this bloody comment EVERYWHERE..
I'm a puppet on a string Tracy island, time-traveling diamond Could a shaped heartaches Come to find ya fall in some velvet morning Years too late She's a silver lining lone ranger riding Through an open space In my mind when she's not right there beside me I go crazy 'cause here isn't where I wanna be And satisfaction feels like a distant memory And I can't help myself All I wanna hear her say is are you mine? Are you mine? Are you mine? Are you mine? I guess what I'm trying to say is I need the deep end Keep imagining meeting, wished away entire lifetimes Unfair we're not somewhere misbehaving for days Great escape lost track of time and space She's a silver lining climbing on my desire And I go crazy 'cause here isn't where I wanna be And satisfaction…
I really love that thing Jamie does at 0:52. Keep coming back here because of that :P
