This is exactly a how cover should be. It maintains elements of the original yet it sounds completely different.

There are plenty of phenomenal covers that are much more true to the original, it's not a pre-requisite for a good cover to be completely different.

The fact that he loves the original song is clear by the fact that he closes his eyes whilst singing it, not cheaply reading it off an iPhone like too many Live Lounge artists. He clearly likes the song and 'feels' the meaning behind it, which makes it a great cover of a great original song.

Alex Turner has so many songs about being drunk in a bar or a club and having strange feelings in your heart. This song fits so well into this pattern that I am 100% sure that he indeed really loves it. PS I know that I am replying to a 9 year old comment.

This cover is heavenly. I swear, everything sounds so perfect and crisp and clean. Jamie's guitar riffs were perfect. The intstruments along with Alex's voice meld together so seamlessly that it's almost impossible to believe this was live. Same with how perfect Alex's voice sounds. It's smooth and full of passion even though he's singing gently. The hiccups are adorable and his control on the parts in which he sings multiple notes is impressive (not to mention he looks sooo good here) All this to say I fucking love this cover more than life itself

I can't get over how smooth and beautiful Alex Turner's voice is.

with this cover alex shows us he has a great vision about music.. he doesnt only relate guitar music with guitar music, thats something for example damon albarn does and thats what makes him an incredible musician.

I like the take Alex has of it; but remember: if Alex did a cover of it that means that he likes it to some degree.

I think this song is much more difficult to sing than it appears and Alex sings it just perfectly , he's just perfect in every note... If you concentrate on his voice and try to isolate it from the instruments you can check that ...
