Thanks to Jim Corbett I’m afraid to walk the streets at night, and I live in Ireland 😂 bloody books have me terrified of non existent tigers.

I live near a tiger reserve (Similipal, India). Two nights ago, the dominant male tiger of this area was calling for a mate. He was far, far away but the quietness of the night allowed the calls to float through the darkness, almost as if they were being voiced a few hundred metres away. Trust me, there's nothing more thrilling than living in tiger country.

LOL, funny you should say that. I first read Corbett's books as a young child and I had terrible nightmares about tigers for years! I now live in Australia and when we are camping out in the bush on long dark nights there are times when my thoughts turn to Corbett's stories and a shiver goes up my spine. A good example perhaps of not letting small children read certain material. I still love the stories though.

@@orion7326 Unless you live near lions. Its quite something to hear them calling at night and the damn hyena's that are always up to no good. Strangely its extremely difficult to hear leopards despite the fact that someone's dog is always taken every now and then by them

@@WesternAustraliaNowAndThen Having been brought up in Africa my entire life it felt so strange when i moved to perth and would walk across parks or camp without ever having to come across predators. Felt like there was something missing

@@MarvoloSalazar Well i haven't lived near Lions but i guess it would be the same thing as Lions and Tigers are exactly the same except for the upper coat. I've always admired Africa. Life on the savannah has always excited me and i look forward to getting a chance to spend a few days in the bush. Also, you nailed it about the leopards. The place i live in has many black leopards (google it. They're truly magnificent) and it makes it even harder to spot one. They aren't loud as well. We lock up all the dogs (pets and strays both) by 6 pm in the evening, when the shadows start elongating. Leopards are true stalkers. I'm sure the same thing happens with African leopards as well.
I've been there and read all of his books. Amazing man!
i`ve read both of his fantastic books about man-eaters. and i`m loving tigers and leopards ever more after

Jim was over reacting. I dont respect him. You should not demonize any animals. Rename jim corbet park name with its actual ancient historic name.
