best glass tut so far - method #2 (around 5:40) is definitely the easiest and most realistic - thanks
The simplest way I ever seen to fake a Glass shader, very usefull and a Huge TKS !!!!!
Very interesting, well explained and helpful tutorial. Thanks!
Nice, nice, nice. thanks for the very good explanation.
Thank you so much for your support and effort We need curtain sheer material
I love this trick, would there be a way to get this to work with the Principled BSDF?
Thanks a ton for this tutorial. I very much appreciate it.

Great tutorial. But when trying out the first method my camera bends the HDRI when changing the IOR - I can't find out why.
i came to the right place. man you dont how much i need this
Great explanation thank you.
Light path is the best result, I think. Which is best for rendering time?
HI there. Thank you for these amazing videos. I usually use to the second method and I also add the math between lightpath and mix shader fac. It works very well sometimes.

Thanks I'm glad you liked it , yeah you right about the math node, I usually use it when I need the diffuse ray along with the shadow from the light path , but sure , it gives more control even with one ray alone.
thank you! I was looking fo this!

hi i didnt know about this before. I always make glass with only 1 face. does the glass need to be solidified? I saw in your model using 2 faces for glass or solidifi.
Mine went wrong , I did what you said when rendering it appears as if it were a cube and it is not even transparent
Totally agree with you!!!! Very good explanation!!! keep going ;)

Excellent tutorial, abysmal cg voice robot...

It's soooo distracting. But ultimately if the voice is the difference between them being able to make these great videos or not, it's all good
Thanks for this great tutorial

How to make a dome-shaped glass that is transparent on BOTH sides...? I'm having issues =(
Thank you. Can you please make a video on denoising ?
is it okay to make the glass material from a plane instead of a cube?
There is a problem with shadows, for some reason my interior is very dark and not bright so shadows cant render properly
thank you soooooo much
génial ! thx !
Thank you!
Hello. One question: does it matter the position of the node input in the mix shader? Transparent on the fist shader or the second?

Hi buddy,Yes it does matter since you have a factor input, the first slot will affect or get affected by the second depend on the factor node you insert, and that goes for Mix shader, Mix rgb...etc Just open blender and try this glass setup with switching the nodes order and see how that affect the refractions, that might give you more understanding to the case.
I am trying to recreate it (without deep knowledge) and I failed at 2:30, when out of the blue Mapping and other (not visible) nodes appeared in the Shader Editor. Can anyone help me with the missing steps?

@@architecturetopics it's dope✋
I’m struggling with glass..... I am trying to render an exterior scene of a home but at certain camera angles I’m getting a white circle ⚪️ that appears in the glass windows! It’s really frustrating :( if can go a video on how to fix would be great. Think it’s to do with IOR but need that for reflections. It only appears when viewed at certain angles.

Hi James I will try to do another one covering the exterior glass in tutorials to come , for now I recommend using Blender kit library glass if the goal is a good final render. The camera for sure play a roll in that ,However , reflections in the matter you saying is duo to the Fresnel so try experimenting with that in the shading edit.

I had the same problem, the sphere we can see in the reflection is located where the camera would be in the reflection. Would be very interested to understand why this sphere appears and changes size according the fresnel intensity.
you best dude
