No one going to mention that Sims was originally meant as an architectural program but when they put humans in, it led into what we know today. I always thought that was interesting and explains a lot how much details and options goes into house/property building features.

The sims was originaly called "dollhouse simulator" before being changed to "the sims" so no it was always a life simulator.

I love how most if not all professional architects usually agree on "decorative brick" to be a poor choice, so funny 🤣🤣🤣

Feel like they only really showed the architects one kind of style, the houses were all pretty modern. Would be good to see another one of these where there's more diversity in style of the houses being made. Because I've seen plenty of amazing builds that are more traditional like barnhouse style, stilted water houses, cottages etc.

I'm shocked that they are architects didnt know of the Sims. When the sims were originally promoted as an architect tool

lol yeah. Every time I stop playing the sims 4 for a year or two and go back I noticed that it would take me a while to get used to building again. It has its own quirks and tons of workarounds.

Do they like any of the houses? Neither of them ever seem to say "I would or wouldn't like to live there"

They both are so likeable and warm. I really, really like those 2

Fascinating, to know that this game have tools similar to a professional CAD.

Oh trust me it runs better than them too..... If you don't use "links" in revit, your model will start hallucinating

Would appreciate a discussion on the SIMulation aspect of the Sims. In Sims you press the play button and your design gets reviewed and rated. Simcity your planning gets a simulation....

I don't think the rating would mirror reality well. Real buildings have to take the local climate and the market for building materials at the time of construction into consideration. It's also really easy to build things in the sims that defy physics. As for how people interact with the rooms, the sims could be useful for interior decoration, but as a simulation for the architecture, you would have to somehow consider that people redecorate or buy new appliances you never considered - but they work around the plumbing and wiring you put there.

First not gonna lie sims is lowkey iconic

It's sad they show only simple house and construction when they show minecraft and not the mega structure like earth 1:1 or other big project.

I used to just make rooms around my sim people with no way to get out of the room i miss playing the original Sims games

I restore historical houses now because of architects and engineers who have big dreams. When it comes to building the practicality of everything they want to do is not in the realm of realistic prices. I don’t even do remodels or new builds anymore because restoring the old houses is much more satisfying than building new or working on the cheap built houses. 102 inches is the legal width on the roads in the U.S. without any other warnings.

I will be honest, I really like the reaction videos of Gamology as they bring in real experts to react to the stuff made by Gamers. But, these architect videos really piss me off. They dont know what they are talking, how the game works and especially compare with other games. The MineCraft world is different from Sims world. When it comes to architect/designer reactions, I like @BuzzFeed Multiplayer videos, no offense to Gamology. I really tried to not write this comment since a long time, but when I watched the video again today I cant help myself to write this comment. If an Architect is needed to react to build videos, first they need to know what the game is of, how it works, how its different from other building/designing games or softwares. If a VIDEO GAME is same as a real life software, you would have a lot of competition from gamers. So PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, when you call architects for these reaction videos give them brief on the game that they are looking and its not a real life software that these people use. Its a game and it should be like the same. To be honest, these similar builds exist in real life world. Many people design themselves in softwares and get them built. I slightly feel some good after sharing my feelings, I am sorry if it hurt someone. I didnt mean to be mean here.

It feels like they are underestimating and downplaying the game and whatever people do build in the game. They come off as too conceited
