Lyrics
Maybe we’ll never learn?
The fire at the gates is our saving grace
Remember, we were born to burn
There is a holy hell, where we can save ourselves
We will be cast out of paradise
It’s a long ascent out of the black
But we all have to sacrifice
Hang the iconoclast
And kiss the feet of the amnesiac
‘Cause the moment is dead when I’m lost in the past
But now the rivers are running red
And the skies have been set ablaze
I’ve been fearing the worst again
Heavenly terrorist
Have you been mourning over yesterday?
Don’t forget to breathe when the knife begins to twist
Fuck this self pity
It’s not that hard to see
We get one chance
These wounds will set me free
There’s poison on the key
It brings you to your knees
But even the mountains erode in the rain
A single spark can start a forest fire
Light one match and burn down the empire
There’s gold buried in the blue
There’s gold buried in the blue
Holy Hell, I’ve got nothing left to lose
And I can tell, there’s gold
buried in the blue

In architects name we pray. Amen.
One hell of a song. Pure emotion!
After sitting with this record for a few months I can confirm this is by far my favourite architects song of all time. The song is almost cinematic in composition, the string sections are beautiful, the lyrics are powerful, the riffs mega... the way Sam emphasises his vocals at 1:43 “fuck this self pity” ...amazing. The whole album just ticks all the boxes and more, 10/10, 5 stars, golf clap, Grammy award worthy masterpiece.
Holy hell, I've got nothing left to lose Fucking beautiful, rage and emotions, could make anyone cry
I’m just here to appreciate how good this song actually is
The lyrics, mixing, instruments, and everything are done to perfection. This is a new level of music. Architect-core.
Honestly this album is a whole new level from their previous albums. I think this is my 5th time I listened to their new album today. Sam emotion in this album is phenomenal and much more aggressive. As well as the band members that put into this album. Well done Architects. Love you guys!

"Gold buried in the blue" Is that a reference to the distant blue? The holy hell might mean liberation through hardship. Some hardships are very beneficial for our emotional development.
@xtraCt42
4 жыл бұрын
could be, but while the distant blue is a metaphor for the planet earth, i think here the emotion of sadness, the suffering, or something similar is meant and that there is something good (gold) hidden in it. And that would also fit with your thought about the liberation through hardship.
