Architects Animals Guitar Cover - How to play Animals on guitar
Guitar tuning: 6-String C# Standard (C# F# B E G# C#)
In this video I show you how I play Animals by Architects on guitar using my new Mayones Aquila Cardinal 6 Adam Christianson signature guitar. I also share my Architects guitar tone demo by showing you my amp and pedal settings for anyone interested.
There are a few ways to play this song and a handful of variations on KZread. In fact, in Josh Middleton's playthrough demoing his LTD signature model he plays it differently (drop B) from how Adam Christianson plays this same song in the demo of his Mayones Aquila Cardinal signature guitar. This version of Animals by Architects that I cover in this video is the way that Adam Chrsitianson plays it (C# standard).
No guitar tabs, but this song is not difficult. If you watch the video you'll quickly be able to figure out how to play this.

Hey if you read my description of this video you’ll see I address that. In Adam’s play through he plays it in C# standard.
How can I get the settings for the big sky on the cleans? Sounds great!

I don’t remember them exactly. But I do have the preset saved somewhere in my pedal. I think I based it in one of the preloaded patches. I think I was using the “chorale” type.
Fairly new guitar player here, but I've noticed that a few videos, covering this song, show a C# tuning, (C#, F#, B, E, G#, C#), and show it starting off in THIRD position, (low string open, F# string third fret). This does NOT sound right. I did come across one video where it shows the same tuning and starts in SECOND position, (low string open, F# string SECOND fret), and this sounds correct. Am I screwed up? Btw, I'm trying to learn it on the Mayones Aquila Cardinal, Baritone, (27 inch scale). Can anyone out there comment on this?

I’ve seen it a couple ways. Josh has a play through video in drop B. And Adam has a play through video when they launched this particular guitar played the way I play it. Long story short, I wouldn’t lose sleep over it. Play it how you want. No one is keeping score.
