VIDEO DETAILS:
Looking to create a chalet with a unique and premium cladding material that you can use on your resume, portfoilo or anything? This archicad 24 tutorial will teach you exactly how to do so!
Today i take you through setting up archicad 24 layers, creating new layers and deleting old ones. Including how to dismiss all the warnings that you may face along the jounrey.
Next we move onto footing design in archicad 24. it will be combination of slab on ground and timber decking design to create the overall general shape of the building. By planning out our footings and floor plan before we begin designing it gives us a guide as to what and where we can design in archicad 24.
Now we move onto the ground floor plan in archicad 24. This is where we begin using layers for the external and internal walls. Layers in archicad 24 are very important because it will help reduce work load later down the track, so get them right at the start. We map out our internal layout in this section as well as a mud map.
Doors are critical to internal movement, if you dont plan them out property and set them up the way you want, it could be challenging to move around the inside of the house. So today i show you exactly how to change the door sizes, shape and even how to add handles.
Windows will make up the most of our external design in the project. We will be focusing on large format windows and sliding doors to give the project an indoor outdoor connection vibe.
Now we move onto the cladding. Maxline cladding is what it is called in australia and it is produced by Rev Roofing. This product comes in a variety of different shapes and sizes around the world but it is a striking metal cladding with a premium feel.
The roof is what really ties the whole design together. By using a simple secret gutter architectural detail we can ensure the cladding wraps the walls all the way to the tip of the roof. A very impressive detail on site and on archicad.
Make sure you LIKE this video to help it with the youtube algorithm! The more likes, the more poeple will see it and the more people will learn about this simple architectural product that will change the game for everyone!

    I’m just getting back into architecture, I graduated in 2013 but wasn’t able to get a steady job so I gave up on it in 2019. I used to use Revit back in the day… I bought a Mac a year ago, because I was sick and tired of having to buy a new laptop, also thinking I would never get back into architecture… anyway, so of course there’s no Mac version of Revit. So I decided to try Archicad, since it feels more professional than Sketch up. But I am having a hard time 😅 so thanks for these videos

    Hi David great tutorial, I learned a few new things fro it. I don't know if you are aware of this however, you do not need to split roofs into single plane and delete hips to remove the hip ends of the gable. You can just pull at the apex and drag it with (apex point drag icon selected) so the hip becomes a gable end without having to split or delete and part of the roof. This way the roof remains as one and is easier to edit in future.

    does the height to next mean the height of the house or does it relate to how deep the slab goes into the ground?

  • @DavidTomic

    @DavidTomic

    3 жыл бұрын

    So, you'll have your reference level or you ground level in this case which is 0. Anything below that marker is a reference to the negative space. So the "footings" in this instance would be how deep the slab goes into the ground. Whilst the ceiling/roof would be how height the level floor is. If the project ever changes, so for examples you have ground floor at 2400mm and it needs to change to 2745mm, you dont have to go back and move all the walls and layers if you've set it up correctly.

    Depends. I’m happy to work on any project around the world but when they’re small jobs it’s often best to get a local architect to help you as it is much more cost effective.
