Yep! Trying to keep it short and sweet 👌
Hey mate, builder here, can I use archicad to work on buildability of floor frame. I.e. just had a project I had to send to metal fabricator for timber joist, bearer and beam cleats to be welded onto some SHS. If I could've drawn it in 3d it would've been way easier to understand - is this possible in archicad?

Hey mate, yep 100%. it’s great for that actually (getting a point across visually). It has built in 3D modeling tools. But like anything though, Just takes a bit of time to learn & get use to using them. It does depend on the level of detail required though, if it’s just to 1mm it ArchiCAD covers most bases. But finer detail than that it might be worth looking at a more specialized software.

@@archguide Sweet mate, nah 1mm is plenty of precision, thats what nuts are for under baseplates. Thanks, will give it a crack
I'm having an issue where the pen set changes all my furniture to have a solid grey fill, any idea what might be causing that?

Hmmmm, tricky to tell.... but it could be the graphic over ride criteria 🤔 or it could be the pen set... If you have luck solving it please let us know!

Yes same here
I have a question. Been struggling with this for years. Let's say I have a floor plan. But some of my rooms are on different platform levels but I need to show all related doors and windows on the single floor plan. It seems the floor plan have one single cutting plane. Wish I could control that to specific areas. Can you assist? Thank you.

Hi there, Sounds like a split level type of plan that your trying to show. On a 2D plan we can only show one slice of the building. So if we have a single story that is at two different heights, we can show that.... but when you add a third above one of the sections.. thats when we'd typically need to add another story and show it as a seperate plan. In ArchiCAD, the only way to seperate + set up these different levels is by setting up 'stories'. and decide the what parts of the building want to show on that one slice through the building. Wish I could offer some alternatives, but it's the only approach I've come across.
