Great video! One question regarding using the Independent detail with the original view as the reference view... When you place the independent detail on the layout, how do you assign the marker correctly so that the references stay linked?

Robert- great video. I wonder how you handle enlarged plan details. If the detail tool is used, it reacts much like a worksheet where you can rebuild from the source view. But when you do this, any lines that may have been deleted for clarity's sake come back. Is there a better workflow for these types of details created from the floor plan?

Hi Robert, great video and very informative. Would it be possible to now take the section detail you created and turn that into a complex profile that you can now apply to the full building design?

Interesting to see that you have your task bar on the left side of the screen! How do you find this? Is it there to align with your AC toolbox, or are there other reasons? Might have to give it a go 👍

Hi Chris, As I use a small screen for tutorials, I want to maximise the effective size of the archicad window. This configuration makes the most sense (to maximise the archicad window, and matching with my archicad workflow)

Hi i need help.. whenever i create a detail view from section.. the detail created is always blank.. any solutions for this?

Hi Dariel, Hi Dariel. Make sure that the settings are on 'create a new detail viewpoint' not 'place a linked marker' or 'place an unlinked marker'

@@RobertMannArchitect Hi thanks for the reply ive just found out the problem.. it was because of the clone setting in view map.. by the way, any way to create a stair detail plan.. any way to display the plan in full view? Since some parts of my stairs is under the slab, also can display it full due to floor cuts, any ideas to generate my details? Thanks a lot

Why does ArchiCad still refer to line color and thickness as Pens. Anyone still use a pen plotter? 🤪

It's just terminology to explain the thickness of the line weight (like if you were drawing by hand) I find this term very useful to explain the concept to students.

@@RobertMannArchitect Can we also get generic details as you have it in that file... if I buy template 22/24 can I find that generic detail?

This video somewhat demonstrates the shortfalls of archicad. Maybe materials should have a third surface type that looks more realistic for details.
