I am fully of the belief that when Embessa said “your council is dead“ she meant that the idea of the council is dead. That there is no longer a governing body of Piltover, because so many of them died, and the rest have scattered to the wind.

i feel like she is talking to caitlyn with those lines. "your council" as a piltovan citizen, "you will have justice" reference to cassandras most likely death. i feel like she is doing that thing she did in act 3, manipulating people to start a war, cause violence. caitlyn might be hesitant, for obvious reasons. i mean, just look at her face, these characters are going through it this season :(

Yep, and in the German dubbing she states ‘Half of your council is dead’, meaning there has been survivors. Jayce and Viktor must have survived, but Mel’s mother also states in theatre trailer that ‘we will avenge your mother’. This is automatically directed towards Caitlyn as she’s the only one we know of to be the daughter of a councillor. We can assume maybe two or three of the other members could be alive along with Jayce, as Viktor isn’t a member. All would most likely have scars and be wounded in a way, but I have a theory that’s when Viktor’s outed for using shimmer on himself. Maybe shimmer would attempt to repair his whole body, or his leg would be exposed. Either way, the explosion should’ve killed him, but shimmer saves his life, resulting him in being either caught out or Jayce would carry his secret until he can’t no more. We don’t see Viktor with any of the Piltover characters, nor are we shown him directly/clearly, so there’s a possibility he’s left after a disagreement with Jayce.

I'm curious to see how that "everyone is the opposite of who they were in Season 1" thing plays out for Ekko.

In the german version of the trailer Medarda says that only half of the people on the council are dead. I'd assume the non relevant people on the council died with the exception of cait's mom for dramatic purposes. I bet only jayce, viktor and Mel ended up alive

"Your Council is dead," refers to the council as a political body, and that can die while some members of it are still alive. That makes sense.

This is fascinating to me because when I watched the trailer for the first time, I thought that particular line, based on the inflection, sounded like the beginning was removed, a super common practice for trailers. And I immediately wondered if the full sentence was actually, "Half your council is dead."

That's not a Jinx statue. That's the head of a chem baron, the wiki calls her Margot. If you go back to the chem baron meeting where Silco gasses them you can see her clearly with the four dots on the forehead and the metal clamp on the bridge of her nose, which you can see on the statue head. Also, Smeech and his gang appear to be laying a siege outside probably to take control. There's smoke coming out of the holes. There hair is also different than Jinx. The bangs are shorter where Jinx sports a longer one on her right side.

The grand statue spewing out green gas from its mouth is actually depicting margot, a chembaron that appeared in the zaunite council. If it doesn't ring a bell is because interestingly, she didn't have a big influence in season 1, but seems to do now. One can tell by the details on the forehead, nose and chin. Most are also speculating that the hooded figure is Viktor, since it matches the figure holding the cane in the previous shots that is assumed to be Viktor's.

Margot is in charge of the Undercity's sex work business so it'd make sense for there to be a statue that releases welll...fragrances or an aphrodisiac which was repurposed to emit some sort of toxic gas or hallucinogen. I'm guessing Smeech is launching an attack on her.

Caitlyin's bullet might be a reference to her ult. It's basically a missle that will always hit its target.

I definitely feel like Cait's early arc is going to involve her going from incredibly compassionate to incredibly cold, out of grief. Not cruel or ruthless, just cut off from her emotions and personal attachments to avoid pain, and very laser focused on doing her job and protecting the city I think one possible step in this will be her trying to kill Jinx with that Hextech bullet, and Vi stopping her and saving Jinx's life. At which point Vi and Cait will have a falling out, a small timeskip will happen while they are estranged, and in the second half of the season they will have to work together again and slowly make up

Only thing is, this is such an obvious progression of events that the creators must realize that anyone with half a brain will arrive at these conclusions even from the limited amount of content we have so far. Therefore, unless they're okay with effectively spoiling half the show well before it starts, I'm thinking there's enough misdirection in here to prevent that. Otherwise, yeah. Logically, this is the obvious set of conclusions.

"She means well but is privileged and knows nothing about the undercity and the lack of care provided by topside, so she goes down there and sees what it's really like, then she comes back home with a desire to change things for the better" The twists and surprises can come from how you get there or what else is going on around them while that is happening

@@aranthur I don't think Caitlyn's arc was that predictable, though. In fact, most people seemed to think she was going to be a minor side character all the way up until the second act when it became apparent where they were taking her. It certainly wasn't riddled out in detail 5+ months before the season premiere. And no, it's not a bad thing for some things to be predictable. That just means the plot is actually making sense. However, it's nice to receive a curveball every now and then. And as I recall, the season 1 trailers were highly deceptive.

I’m loving all the breakdowns. Everyone has interesting theories that I didn’t notice, like the fact that there might be Jinx copycats. That could explain why they create so much suspense in the trailer to just hear and see Jinx. It could also create good tension in the first act because there’s so many signs of Jinx and the team Cait assembles keeps turning up imitators. It also gives the Liberte mural of Jinx leading people all w/blue hair more weight

There’s an article about a scene from season 2 that was shown at Annecy (animation festival?) of Vi basically hiding out in the undercity with different clothes and dyed hair effectively just working as a pit fighter. Probably after falling out with Caitlyn.

I don't think the fight scene is Act 2. Vi's expresison when she says her sister is gone looks like she's lying. Specifically trying to convince someone, probably Cait. She's going with Cait's team to probably get to Jinx before anyone else does. And from other details we'e gotten from the clip shown at Annecy: (spoilers in the next paragraph if you don't want to know anything about it) I think it's likely Vi lets Jinx get away which leads to her and Cait having a sort of break up and a short timeskip. On the hooded ifgure, I am very confident it's Viktor. In the one shot where we see him he also has a hooded cloak. I'm guessing he's severely injured because of th attack on the council and has to use the hexcore to save himself turning him mostly machine or...some techno-organic cyborg thing. He decided to use it to help out the suffering Zaunites after the war starts and him and Jayce begin to drift apart as they're on opposite sides. And I do think the kid is a Jinx follower of some sort because they have blue hair which as we saw in the mural, her followers seem to have dyed their hair blue in their admiration of her.

more evidence is the whole ending scene was jinx calling Vi out on loving the idealized imaginary version of her sister and Caitlyn was not awake for that apart. think Jinx gets heavily injured from the fight a constant theme is Vi plans aren't even half thought out.. . Like everything bad that happened to Jinx in Season 1 was caused by Vi trying to help which mirrors how jinx screwed everything up and caused bad things by wanting to help.

The bullet is armor-piercing. Probably for use against that big shimmer boi.

I don't think it's the final season of Arcane, the creators have said they'd only do 2 seasons with these characters and this story but I think they were planning to do more seasons but in a different location in the world, with new characters and a new story.

Small correction I haven't seen anyone make: Vi's gauntlets were already fixed by Jinx by the end of episode 9. Jinx uses them to carry the plate with the cupcake in it. They just need to be cleaned of the graffiti Jinx drew on them.

If she did fix it, which was my impression and more plausible to me, then it's weird the glove doesn't have the usual glow of hextech. If she didn't fix it, then Jinx has super strength from her shimmer recovery because Vi could barely lift it off the ground when it broke, but we never see Jinx display any other feats of super strength. She does shake her right arm after taking it off though, suggesting it was uncomfortable to wear it, so I guess maybe she did raw dog it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@@InstantSilence I think that she does have super strength from the shimmer (from now on I think), cus Vi was able to punch down the eye tower thing from just a small amount of shimmer, and Jinx was infused with it. But that's just my theory on it.

Interesting that you mentioned "arcane in detail" twitter but didn't talk about the "black arc" of Vi, that was "revealed" (or rather talked about in tandem with the process of making season 2 by Fortiche and Riot creators) during Annecy in France. Heavily implying this arc will happen in the middle of the season, and very much suggesting almost everything in the teaser trailer will happen in act 1 - as per usual by Riot to not reveal almost any important scenes from act 2-3 as they did in trailer for 1st season. This season will explore much more than the "oh my god final battle between Vi and Jinx" part. It's effective and very well done misdirection. Will be very interesting to see what they reveal in official trailer in... September? (1st season had one 25th in September too in 2021) Love your videos and energy, cannot wait for more during and after season 2 :)

Also, Deckard and Vander had "a little" shimmer as well and they were still stronger than Vi or Sevika. They also lost their minds to shimmer while Jinx has the perfected version which means she isn't only stronger she can also fight. And like I said in the previous comment that you completely ignored. She was carring inactive hextech gauntelts WITHOUT ANY EFFORT. Vi couldn't do that. And the chemtank comparision just proves your room temperature IQ. Chemtank is just a suit and the ones inside go completely insane which means that they are basically like mindless beasts. They weren't injected with the perfected version of shimmer like Jinx. My theory is the hooded figure is a mage. If you slow down the scene right after the Sevika smeech fight we are made to think its the aftermath. If you slow it down you see its (what looks to be) the same hooded figure with a staff producing light. If you watch the scene from season one where jayce meets the mage they have the same type of cloak and staff when the produce similar light. I also think on the theme of forgiveness its going to be about characters forgiving themselves. Throughout the stories most if not all characters feel guilt for their actions and its the main source of conflict for them.. to properly wrap up the series everyone needs to forgive themselves for their mistakes so that they can move forward. Also all the comments I have seen predicting the end presume its going to be resolved. I don’t think it will. I think season two is about characters making peace with themselves but perpetuating the fighting. Arcane has never come across to me as a “happy ending” type show. Its realistic and in reality happy endings are never a good thing. Ella Purnell said she cried at the end and i think thats because there wont be physical peace for the characters but mental peace. In terms of the characters i think they are not going to get a happy ending. Thats my theories anyway sorry for the long comment.

I'm enjoying the speculation around the hooded figure in particular--lots of good theories, nothing conclusive. That's the fun part of this whole conversation. BTW--you may be the first analyst I've seen to explicitly link the monkey symbol with the violent, even out-of-control aspects of Jinx's character. It's a great observation: if she feels as if all she can do and make is going to blow up in people's faces, why not just run with it...

Vi aceppts powder but does powder(Jinx) accept Vi? They have decide on ALL of their media connected to LoL since everything it is cannon now. Is the game Jinx supposed to be the REAL Jinx or is it just a older Jinx? Personally I think it's a bad choice for them to link everything to a single cannon. They have to somehow change the LoL Jinx into Arcane Jinx or change the Arcane Jinx into LoL Jinx?

I think Jinx lied to Syvika (IDK how to spell her name) She probably convinced her that the enforcers killed Silco. That is why they are teaming up. That is my theory.

Probably. But Jinx is also someone who hates liers and traitors. She can fool someone, but that's the closest to a lier, she could ever get. I think she will tell the truth, because this is one of her main principles. Especially when intending to cooperate with said people.

At 6:32 that is not Jinx it is Margot one of the Chem-Barons. You can tell by the jewelry (or whatever that is) on her forehead and chin. She was also at the table with Smeech when Silco used the gas against them.

Forgiveness to turning it into another Akame ga kill

I loved this video! It picked up on so many details I missed! ❤ You can definitely see the themes of war and rubicon in this trailer particularly with what Ambessa and Vi said. But as for the forgiveness element I unfortunately don't think it will be to do with Vi and Jinx's relationship but rather Zauns relationship with Piltover perhaps? Especially if inkeeping with lore Caitlyn ends up becoming Sherrif, we see explicitly in season 1 that she believes the city needs healing and is willing to do whatever it takes to achieve this. Of course we have to bear in mind what Christian Linke said about the characters changing however even though her mother is very likely dead invoking a lot of potential violence and bitterness that she didnt have before, I really can't see a strong character like Caitlyn turning away from her baseline morals. It may just be that she sets about achieving her goals ina different way, hopefully leading to eventual peace between Zaun and Piltover. The only thing that keeps bugging me is the fact that I have a horrible feeling that Vi, Caitlyn and Jinx can't all be alive by the end of the season

I think Piltover and Zaun will find an agreement but not Vi and Jinx. Vi and Jinx are both fighting for the Zaun side in this season but for completely different reasons. The sister struggle is more personal it seems. Caitlyn is the more a representative for Piltover, and Jinx is the representative of the cruelty that the Zaunites have, but Zaun had to live in the filth and waste of Piltovans, and still thrive with their technology through "chemtech" which is MUCH more destructive...

The hextech bullet is clearly the "following bullet" from the games and the runes that come after the gun is fired are "acceleration gates"(created by Jayce btw). The statue is likely not Jinx, rather Orianna OR a random chem baron from the scene where all the chem barons meet in the first season.(the statue has the same piercings) I feel like that Jinx would never wear a shawl so the hooded figure must be someone else(Vicktor?). The image with the dogs on the pillar is directly referencing season one scene where Vi is saying "Picture Mylo, Claggor, Vander, DAD, MOM"(Episode 9, 31:40) and then the wolves get too intense(Mom and dad weren't as good to her as VI?). The crude monkey on the pillar is when powder used the monkey toy to start the bomb that killed everyone(S1E3). All my interpretation though.

unfortunately, I will be crying after the last episode. I’m glad they aren’t dragging the series way too long, but I can’t handle a life without vi 😭😭😭😭😭

In the German version of the Trailer, Ambessa says "half your council is dead" so it's safe to assume that Jayce and Viktor survived, as well as Mel, which Ambessa is probably talking to. Also, Caitlyn's mother is definitely dead, as in the same german version of the trailer, Ambessa doesn't say "you will have justice", she says "we will avenge your mother". My guess is that every one short of Mel Jayce and Viktor died in that room. Every other character is not super important to the story anyway and when it comes to numbers it actually matches up. Also, Fortiche showed a scene that is "from the middle of the season" (so Act 2) where Vi is completely at the bottom. She dyed her har to be almost black, whe wears black paint on her face, she lives in a crappy appartment in between Zaun and Piltover (probably because she doesn't want to live in Piltover but isn't liked in Zaun), spends her nights drinking and participating in illegal fistfights. So to me, all that was shown in the teaser trailer was from Act 1, and the aftermath of Act 1 (Jinx getting arrested? Or worse?) is what leads Vi to her situation in Act 2. I think forgiveness will play a role for Vi as she would need to forgive herself. Just a guess with what we have but one thing for sure is that we're all getting emotionally destryed again with this last season lol

I think the fight between a sisters happens at the end of ACT 1 episode 3. Also think that the season 2 Poster gives away the victor of that particular fight. Jinx kidnaps Vi after a failed take out attempt by Caitlyn from outside the temple, Caitlyn had Jinx in her sights but it was not a kill shot. Since Jinx is unpredictable and super smart she decides to take Vi hostage. I don’t think Jinx will die anymore, neither will Vi. I think we’ll see some interesting development with Jinx a more clear clear headed and focused Jinx.❤❤❤. Long live JINX

Forgiveness could be just in themselfs Jinx can do it about killing Silco , V about abandoning Powder , victor about killing her assistant and the other about what they did on season 1 they all make mistake and learn from them maybe Jinx finally get what Silco tell her about fight for they people that what he say to her many times but she was focus on the past that prevent her to see the future now she see it and beside the top side maybe have the magic to do weapon but Jinx have it too and that never happen before Silco could not make weapon like she did but she is powerfull and strong now and is focus on fulfill his father dream of liberate her people that could be a reason that people like her now .

The statue isn't of jinx, its one of the other undercity leaders that silco met with in S1. It looks like gas is coming out of its mouth so maybe there is a fight to control the slums of zaun.

Saying "The Council is dead" is a nice double entendre. What they want you to surmise is that the councilors are all dead. But a council can be dead when enough council members are dead or can no longer perform their duties. Or if its no longer seen as the leaders of Piltover. The council as a premise and function might be dead, but that doesn't mean all the members are also.

What I think forgiveness will be about: Caitlin forgiving the undercity for murdering her mom (and all that crime and trouble they are causing to pilotover) basically understanding why all of this is happening Mel forgiving Ambesa And jinx forgiving vi for everything she has done to her (probably talking things over and somewhat returning to Powder) Jayce is definitely not going to forgive anyone tho 😂

I think the trailer is misleading in the way that I'm pretty sure 90% of the trailer is from episode 1 with 10% maybe reaching episode 2 and 3. The rest of the season is still a complete mystery and I have SOOOO many speculations on what other champions from LOL might show up besides Warwick. Can't wait!

Personally I think Mel died because if you look at her mothers armor scene, it looks like she is wearing a good inspired outfit just like Mel did. Or, maybe Mel wore gold inspired by how her mother dresses when she’s in battle.
