“Can physics be added to ships so you don’t fly backwards” I’m no coder, but I don’t think that should be that hard. Create an invisible part above the whole ship with collision off, and when the player is in contact with that part match the velocity to the ship rather then setting it to 0 every jump. That really doesn’t seem hard but vetex just said “No there is no point”

But that also forces people to pvp even when they don’t want to and can be open to griefing. A good fix to this could be making a pvp server and a pve server. But in the pve server you get less exp and money for doing stuff as a drawback

@@lunar3055 Look this is going to be a long reply because the entire game is designed around the fact that people can hunt you down. And I mean EVERYTHING. Also I’m sick of the the dumb “did you read my reply?” Rhetoric when you use it incorrectly like this, I responded using details from your reply. You know this. I know this. It’s not necessarily a pirate game you got me. It’s a lot of things, you can even be a navy officer or an assassin and other things you could roleplay as too. Cook etc. Hero. What I should have said is it’s a game where you can be a pirate, and they added the fact that cargo or sealed chest floats up after a ship sinks on purpose. That wasn’t there at launch. Pvp adds necessary risk to cargo runs and sealed chest runs. This is a bigger picture thing too, but without stealing, the economy gets destroyed. If people are constantly adding and adding to how many galleons there are with no interruptions or conflict, inflation of galleons happens much quicker to a dangerous degree and they will lose their value. This game has been out for a YEAR and galleons are still valuable, that’s for many reasons, but the pirates out there are one of them. I basically agree with Vetex when he was asked in the interview why not add a pvp toggle he said “because I think no one would pvp and it wouldn’t really be a thing.” People are naturally afraid of risk, in spite of the risk often adding fulfillment to their lives. I am on vetex’s side. You shouldn’t be able to gain a high bounty then turn off PvP and avoid the risk that comes with that. You shouldn’t be able to run around with a hundred thousand galleons and never risk a player taking it from you. If PvP wasn’t involved, everything would have to be redesigned around that. I’m preaching to the coir because that’s why they’ll never remove PvP or add private servers, it would be an entirely different video game so I don’t have to worry, but I’m trying to get through to you. If you don’t like PvP, nothing in this game is further than one part separated from it. To play this game, you must PvP, or make a fast ship and run, but you’re still being pushed around by players. It’s just integral to this game, everything is connected to it.

brooo nobody reads the agora. Maybe the agora could have some notifications about where one could find stuff. For example, the agora could say "There have been many sightings of [insert a random seamonster here]" to let players know where to find some sea events. or "There have been sightings of pirate ships". smth like that. Also, Adding photos to the agora would be rly cool. Like if some1 gets mentioned, the game could add a photo of the character that got mentioned. Also, make getting mentioned harder. Nobody cares if you get mentioned. I want getting mentioned to be something that someone would come up to you and congradulate you for.

Pvp toggle would be amazing if instead it was involuntary and based around where you are in the world/story. You should be blocked from pvp if you’re in the current storyline area, but if you go to like munera garden or something pvp is always enabled, and clan claimed islands could decide if people can pvp on them or not until contested by another clan

tell them to hit up the team who made the game Dynasty Battlegrounds. They had a whip like weapon called a Kusarigama. in the game with really smooth anims and the hit detection was super easy just used standard hitbox. Games dead so I bet wouldn't mind sharing tips and design logic how to do it.
