Thank you for an honest reaction. I see so many reactors who you can tell over dramatize their reactions for what I expect is effect. This being one of my first exposures to league but not Arcane cinematic shorts I felt like I was getting a double first. That being the case I fully understand and agree with your reaction so thank you for helping me not feel bad for wanting more of a connection at the end.

I/we will always keep it real. Yeah..I just didn't really connect with this one and hopefully my reasoning makes sense. Totally with you on wanting more. Great animation as always though and loved the slow mo shots of the individual heroes around 2:50 and onward

Most Trailers just make u want more, that's their whole thing :) In the Ruination case it's even more than just playing LoL, since they released a whole novel to read and the single player RPG. Nonetheless I still think that's more of a weaker cinematic and I usually even skip reactions cuz you need to udnerstand the story to make any sense of it (like in this case Gwen being a doll which explains all the stabbing-thingy when Viego loses his power).

Guy with the spear and shield is Pantheon who you might do voice line videos on in future.... And Akshan is the guy Graves is talking to... And what he does in this cinematic is very close to his in game kit

The whole Ruination storyline and the events corresponding to it was a mess. They had a huge setup and cut half of it because the start was bad. You dont even see all the champions that were part of that event in the cinematics since it gets too expensive and confusing. The Abilities of the champions play a role and sometimes it is hard to understand the cinematic without their knowledge. (For example Akshans (Pretty Boy) revive or sneak abilities in this case. For Gwen you get a good picture of who she is in her champion teaser: "Made with Love") The Problem with linking the comics or i think you mean mostly the lore pages of the champions is that you would have to link half of the champion Sites in existence since they are all intertwined and entangled on purpose. The characters meet each other, have family and friends relevant to their decision making which is why you get more information about the world, major events and their character and perspectives from the interactions in the storys of other champions sometimes. A compromise could be Necrit`s Videos especially the newer ones (he reads you the storys and than adds on it and discusses with the current information on top each time a story comes out). The Problem here would be to avoid spoilers.

I didnt even know akshan was DOING abilities. Hes got some rad hair though hahah Yes many have suggested necrits videos but as you said...spoilers. and we wouldnt know what to avoid so...for now im hesitant.

There are no mods. Just ash and myself 🙃 - also i think that any extra influence besides the viewers will degrade our first experience with things we havent seen. The whole point is to go in blind. And react genuinely.

The Ruination was such a mess that there is like 3 or 4 versions of the ruination. The LoL version of the story, Wild RIft event, Comic book. And then there is the standalone game Ruined King (which has fun trailer). It was such a mess that I don't thin even Riot knows which one is canon and each and every version has problems with staying true to lore, leaving out long time estabillished characters left and right, like Maokai, Yorick etc... Or not bothering what characters that are powerful enough to do something about the Harrowing mist are doing during that time etc. It wasn't well received, nor by players, not by lore fans. Before that the yearly event was I believe the Spirit Blossom. Following year was the Star Guardians Event (also not without problems). Then it should have been Void themed event (allured to by BelVeth) which hasn't happened yet... and who knows if it will.

this is sadly one of the story events that flopped so hard for riot, it had potential its just they handled it wrong, hell even the in game event was atrocious because they tried to milk the concept of their oginal spirit blossom event as well for this one
